It is not possible to show all I did in a 1 minute short video and people make too many assumptions. I made this video to get some suggestions and at the same time while waiting for the comments (which I got within 2 hours) I researched what to feed it and how to feed it. After I filmed I started to prepair the hay nest to put the Black bunny and the baby in (black bunny is already a proven, good mother) I watched Black bunny closely for 5 minutes then decided to put the baby back where I found it. Black bunny was not showing signs of care. I found out that it is common for baby bunnies to venture off early and get picked off by weather and other animals. This video served its purpose and I was told to get goats milk or cats milk. I brought the baby inside and warmed it up. It was an hour long process where I basically had to place it on my warm skin and cover it up carefully. Once warm its movements became much worse and it could not eat. It fell into a coma and stopped by the next morning. I did keep it warm through the night. It was kept in a blanketed enclosure with bedding in a warm room.

I really messed up with this video. I see it looks bad as It ended without it going into a warm bed. The video gave me the answers I was looking for in the comments within a few hours but it did not get over 1,000 views until about a month later. Reading the comments taught me that I need to think more about what people might assume. I also question why this video got so many views. I would hope because it is me showing reality and truth, but I think it is because there are not many videos out there that show a baby rabbit not screaming. Now I assume that people are stressed out from work and school demands so I try to show peaceful rabbit interactions on the side. A lot of people out there seem to like to attack others, it is just adding to the overall stress.

@@0815Horst No. Unfortunately, it passed away in it's sleep. I believe it was without a mother and nourishment for a while before this kind person found it and tried to help. Thank you for doing your best to take care of the baby bunny. I found an adult bunny frozen in the snow over the winter and I thought it was dead until I brought it in and while I was putting it in the trash bag, it started to kick, so I brought it inside wrapped in some towels and put it in the dog crate the dog was not in it. we offered it some warm water as well as some finally the vegetables and rodent food, but the most that happened as it would look around. It lasted about 10 hours before passing away while we’re all asleep. Making a cold rabbit comfortable before it goes is really all you can do.

@@kasper7574Most furred animals can take care of themselves in cold weather much better than humans. This guy did it correctly from all appearances. The hutch is off the ground, sheltered from wind rain and snow because it’s almost entirely enclosed and includes material that they can burrow into. This rabbit is much more likely to live a longer and more comfortable life especially because he’s alone. If they opt to eat rabbit after raising them they are farm or country folk. That is how they live. The farm to table usually means locally grown animals.

I had a simular situation. We had flooding rain that a baby bunny was curled up next to our home, weak and cold. I took it in, warmed a towel in the dryer and wrapped the baby in it. At a loss of foods to feed him, I gave him shredded carrots, lettuce, and other veggies. He regained its strength and perked up 100%. I waited a couple more days to set it free. A very nice effort, from what I can tell. It's probably ethically sound to just leave it outside -- and in many cases of wild animals showing up, it would be preferred -- but I could never say it's a bad thing for someone to care, and I appreciate people who are so kind. The uploader doesn't need the advice, but to anyone who wouldn't know what to do in this situation, I recommend having the number for a local wildlife rehab or refuge or management or whatever on standby, so you can call them for advice. In the meantime putting distressed wildlife in a cardboard box with some holes in it and putting it somewhere quiet and not colder than outside (unless it's a heat stress situation) but not super warmer either (not super cooler for heat stress) is usually a decent holding method until you know what to do; temp variations for either extreme that happen too quickly are dangerous. Do not give them food or water unless you have been told to or are absolutely sure it won't hurt them.

After seeing it, our chihuahua became very defensive and protected it from the cats, barking his head off. So we found the little guy, bleeding on the floor, and we took him to the vet. To make a long story short, he survived but had to have a bunch stitches, so we named him Stitches. We tried to release him but he had become too domesticated and reliant on us, which was our fault because we handled him too much, but he's done very well with us. Aww so so rediculously adorable, cuteness overload and brain explosion!!
Aw jeez, hope it will get better
Hey, thank you for helping the baby. I am sorry, my english isn't the best. Did it make it?
@@0815Horst No. Unfortunately, it passed away in it's sleep. I believe it was without a mother and nourishment for a while before this kind person found it and tried to help. The fact that the baby bun wasn't screaming as they usually do when picked up is a big sign that it wasn't well. Nature can be so cruel sometimes.

I have 5 jack rabbits I raised after their ma lost an argument with the neighbors dog. They acted that way. They seemed to know we were on their team. Day one they cuddled up to us. Now as adults they avoid coyotes by sticking close to our dogs house, which they use as home base. I've always felt it's an honor when children and animals seek ones company.
@Kristopher Prime they're not buddies or anything, but the dogs don't chase them and the rabbits know it. Sometimes they lay within sight of each other.
