I don’t know how people dare to go hiking here alone. Black bears/grizzlies n all. For me it’s gotta be a large group , everyone has bear spray, if someone has a concealed carry (I know this is strictly forbidden in BNP) I wouldn’t even be mad ;) hearing about the couple being mauled to death earlier in the year just north of Banff is a strong reminder that even if you can’t see them, they are there . Lurking in the shadows lol. Sorta .
