  • 10:25 when the pus comes if you want to skip to that per the title. I always respect the way you know when to call the vet doctors when it becomes outside your expertise, it's very professional of you as a hoof expert with all that crusher machinery to know when to call the doctor! (I was sorry to hear about your family estate situation too, it sounded nasty but not uncommon with complex families etc. I hope you were able to salvage at least some cash via KZhead/GoFundMe or whatever etc. because it sounded very unfair.)

  • Lovely to see how gentle and caring Robby is about the cows- you can't teach empathy like that!

    @coraautumn1130@coraautumn1130 Жыл бұрын
    • You can teach it, most empathetic people were brought up and raised in that ideal, humans are naturally selfish creatures and without being taught a less selfish way of thinking we were naturally devolve back into just self caring attitudes.

      @erickchristensen746@erickchristensen746 Жыл бұрын
    • @@erickchristensen746 Well it's more complicated than that. We can only be taught empathy because its natural to humans. Humans are naturally altruistic, there is plenty of evidence in evolutionary biology (genetic advantages) anthropology (hunter-gatherers) and even primatology ( bonobos). Anatomically modern humans have been around over 100,000 yrs and it's only in the last 12,000 or so that, due to agriculture and animal husbandry, we created concepts of property, hierarchy, labor, slavery, inheritance, paternity and control of female sexuality. Not that hunter-gatherers are perfect angels of course, they have interpersonal conflicts but wherever and whenever they are found thegvare aggressively egalitarian. Humans in undomesticated communities share resources much more than we do, and infringe on each other's personal choices much less. This is well researched in both physical and cultural anthropology in particular. (However it is important not to conflate hunter-gatherers with other "primitive" tribes, a tribe even dabbling in horticulture or herding has more in common with us than with a hunter gatherer tribe). Humans evolved to be both self-centered and altruistic. Also we know you cannot be taught empathy if you do not have the corresponding brain structure and function. While it is not a diagnosis used in DSM (ie clinical psychology and psychiatry), psychopathy IS a construct used in experimental psychology/psychiatry (ie doing research). With factor 1 (traditional) psychopathy, lack of empathy and other symptoms like lack of fear/anxiety and impaired executive function can be seen in fMRI's as dramatic differences in the brains structure and function when compared with most people. Factor 1 is thought to be innate (unlike factor 2 psychopathy - formerly called sociopathy - which is thought to be a result of pervasive poverty, violence, abuse and neglect in early childhood). While someone with factor 2 can have their very minimal empathy developed a bit further, a person with factor 1 psychopathy *cannot* acquire affective empathy. Factor 1 can learn cognitive empathy and most do on their own (ie( learn to intellectually recognize emotions in others expressions) and will parrot what they think they're supposed to without actually "mirroring" (as in the psychological term). Relating remains on the level of a game to them, all they care about is the win condition. But for the rest of us, innate empathy will vary somewhat on the individual level, just like most qualities and talents. And you are right that it can also be further developed with the right experiences and instruction.

The faster you treat a small or slight seeming imperfection or sore spot, pain point, the faster you can move on to avoid the bigger issues. Cheers.

Benjamin Holt invented track treads as he needed something that could handle the sandy, muddy soil of California's San Joaquin Delta region. • Another Wopa! I didn't see that coming but it makes perfect sense. I remember when you fixed the old one all the time. This looks perfect for one man operation, it's compact and will probably fit into all sorts of small spaces that you used to go into with the old one. Yeah, I thought car too, but this is way better. The happiness you felt was all over your face. Enjoy!

  • Absolutely thrilled to see your dedication and love for your job! Reminds me why I drive semi trucks here in the US. Absolutely love my job, I get paid to travel the country in an apartment on wheels! That statement "if you love your job you'll never work a day in your life" rings true. I wouldn't trade it for the world. Keep up the great work Graeme! You help make farms better one cow at a time!

  • It makes me smile when I watch the cows. It reminds me of the little things about my Great Grandfather's farm growing up. My older cousins and youngest uncle swinging in the hay shed. I couldn't wait to grow old enough to do it too. But they always chased me out of the barn by telling me that the big spiders and snakes lived in the hay and liked to bite little girls. lol but I can still smell the hay just watching this and the smell of Bag Balm that my Great Grandfather, Grandfather, Dad,Great Uncle,and my Uncle put on the cows teats when they took the milking machine off of them. I still use it for everything that ails me and my Grand daughters believe it is my magic medicine.

So glad though that the cows are relieved of the pain they were in and that the bull has improved. Well done on your success Graeme - you've worked really hard and deserve the rewards. ❤️🏁🇿🇦🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🐄

Much Love to you and your family; your wife is a peach of a lass. PS… You need to see the 💈 Barber; your hair is as wiggy wild as my son’s…and mine as well…

And then with the KVK. And now you've gone full circle back to the wopa. Life works in mysterious ways sometimes! I'm so happy for you!! Also, I'm glad that poor girl's absess drained out, she probably felt so much better after that happened.

  • I never get tired of seeing your beautiful Scottish countryside, so green and well watered. Love the fact that it rains so much in your summers. Here in the USA, northern Illinois near Chicago, we are having a hot, humid, muggy summer. Temps will hit 91 F today with a heat index of 101 F. If we're lucky, we'll get relief tomorrow with a thunderstorm. Scotland's weather sounds ideal to me! (p.s. Love your curly hair look!)
