I drew the design on paper then used little magnets to hold it in place while I painted over it with spray paint. Then I cut out the shape with a angle grinder. I used a 6in cut off wheel. Then I used the thicker disk to smooth out the edges. After that I used the 4 by 30 belt grinder to further smooth the edges. Then I used the 1 by 30 belt grinder to smooth the face of the axe. Also used the orbital sander to further smooth the face, I got it to 180 grit with the palm sander. I then hand sanded 220 grit to 400 grit to 500 grit.
For the RESIST (the coating before you etch) I used Automotive Pin Striping for the the borders. Then I used the Cricut Joy machine to cut out the viking warriors stickers.
I used a 12v battery charger set to 12v 2amp and a 1/2 Cup of salt to 1/2 gal water. I let etch for about 1 hour.
I used Jax blackener and sanded up to 3k grit before polishing.''

Thanks for watching.
Awesome. Well done. Subed you and will be back for more!
Thank you so much. I really appreciate it. I am planing on making a more detailed video on etching very soon.
Love it. Wish I could find those designs
Thank you. If you google Viking warrior clip art, a bunch of similar designs will show up. You should be able to find those exact ones too.
😎
Never mind the class axe, that video was so unreal, your editing and angle was a thing of beauty, the music worked so well as well!
Thank you so much. I really appreciate it. Im actually working on a Blade for Halloween with The Reaper and Skulls etched into it. I use a different method for transferring the images, I actually draw them in. Instead of using stickers.
You make weeding look fast and simple. Them little cuts would give me a headache or hangover trying to weed.
Epic work Drew!
Thanks
SO SICK!!!!!!!!!

Unfortunately I don't have a digital copy of the axe profile. Or are you talking about the characters?
No the ax profile but I think I got...thank you
Great video, what did you use the qtip for ? Any special solution/ oil ?
Thank you. I used Jax blackener . I can't believe I forgot to show the Blackener.
Fantastic work , as always ! How long did you leave it in the etching solution ?
Thank you. I Left it in for about 1 hour.
Looks great. Dosent tell ya chit
Thank you.
First 🤗🤗🤗
That's awesome!
Hey Drew, when you cut into an axe head, what sort of cutting wheel do you use on your angle grinder? Thanks.
It is called a Cut-Off Wheel. I usually use a 6in cut-off wheel that's 1/16 in thick. so I can get close to the line. Thanks for watching the video. I really do appreciate it.
Realy nice Video. Just a tip for everyone who want to try this an home: Its better to use sodium carbonate insted of salt. During the process the salt will be devided to sodium and chlorine. Chlorine is an irritate gas. Bot more problematic than this ist the reaction together with the hydrogen and oxygen with boath arise during the process from the water. The result ist oxyhydrogen an verry explosive gas. So best use sodium carbonate insted of salt. Second best, marke sure that there is enough ventilation during the whole process. My english is not the best but i home you can understand the meaning of my words. Realy epic work from you!
Ill try that next time I etch something. Thank you
do you need to seal it after applying the Jax blackener?
After the blackener, I just use boiled linseed oil to protect it from rust, and it darkens it more too.
@@drewdoesart9277 awesome, thanks so much. Love the work
No problem. Thank you. @@ArmwrestlingAsh
This time I will do it manually with the help of Woodglut designs.
