It was an unusual sight in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court on Tuesday.
Franklyn Williams, 32, is accused of three armed robberies in Richmond Heights and Euclid. During his sentencing hearing, Williams would not stop talking, despite more than a dozen warnings from Judge John Russo over the course of about 30 minutes. Williams even interrupted his own attorneys.

  • Being taped like that might have helped him in the long run if he went to trial, could be a legitimate issue on appeal. He ended up getting 33 years, he’s in Lukasville which is the second to the highest security prison we have in Ohio. He must have been on the same type of disruptive timing when he got to the joint

  • I'm all for people being treated humanely, especially those with mental problems that affect their behaviour in a manor way like schizophrenia. BUT!.. Those that have terrorised innocent people, forfeit some rights by theor own horrid behaviour. His victims may not recover.     • I’m only commenting because I see your comment at the top. Judges and lawyers are more corrupt then most of the prisoners that roll through those courts and it’s truly fucking sad. I don’t know this case well but the mans probably right that his life is gonna be out of his hands because he can’t defend his side. Not saying the out of turn speaking wasn’t overdone but I wish there was more sympathy and real rehabilitation to the system.
