In my opinion...Omega is a more badass watch than Rolex...I'm not a Rolex hater....my heart just belongs to Omega.
They are cheeper because they are not complitly made by hand ( movement is but finale touches are not), Rolex is complitly made by hand but omega have much more strict testing ( metara certificat) so you compromise on craftsmanship alittle but accurecy is better
@@ivanfrangugic8355 how do we really know Rolex are still being made by hand 100%?
DLK
My father gifted me with his mid-1950's Omega Constellation last year. I grew up seeing him wear it while we went fishing, hunting, camping and pretty much all the time. It's never been serviced and still keeps perfect time! Even got the original red Omega box. He and Elvis Presley were friends and Elvis bought an Omega about the same time as my dad. His was also a Constellation, but was gold/black with date complication. Love Omega!
Caleb Henderson lol no automatic watch keeps perfect time
omega does

Omega was the first watch I bought with my own money. I was always attracted to its detail and precise quality even though I own a Rolex too. Omega for life
I had 2 Seamasters, a Speedmaster and a 1935 Regulatour... Upon the completion of my Military career I found myself unemployed and nearly homeless. I had to sell off my Omega's to pay my rent, electricity etc... I love this company and will rebuild my collection.
Michael Nussbaum Go for it man. Best luck!
You have my respect and my best wishes!
Same, i had to sell my watches too, this pandemic is something else
You will own some great Omega watches soon.
1970 - my first Omega - a Speedmaster Professional Mk2. Lost in 1994. 1995 - my second Omega - a De Ville. 2001 - my third Omega - Seamaster 300 for my 50th. My De Ville to my son for his 25th. Nothing but Omega.
I always like Omega since I was a kid. One of my grandpas most treasured watch was an Omega from 1930s. My brother has it. He took it to Omega factory in Switzerland and had it tuned, and replaced some none genuine Omega parts out in over the years. One of my admired person, was a navy F18 pilot, and he wore a Seamaster. Then in 1990s, Pierce Brosnan wore one in Golden Eye; I finally bought my own first Bond Seamaster. Sine then I bought another, Ocean Planet 2014 Sochi Olympic Watch. My wife also is a fan. I bought her a lady Seamaster to complement my Bond Watch. I also bought her a diamond lady matic Constellations, referred by Omega Sales as Cindy Crawford Watch. Omega is special to us.
Massive gap in this article. Prince William was give an Omega Seamaster by his mother Diana and it is the only watch he wears. It will sit on the throne of England one day.
john rice that is a big one, well spotted
I bought my first Omega speedmaster moonwatch when I was 18 years old back in 2012 and yes I bought it with my own money, great great memory I'll never forget how excited I was
Got 2 Omega watches - a Seamaster Professional (my daily wear which has lasted longer than my marriage) and a Speedmaster.
I walked into an omega store for the first time yesterday. amazing store. classic music playing just enough to hear It, I was greeted with a handshake and coffee or water, I was told about the history of omega, and even tried on a 40,000 dollar watch that I nearly pissed my pants wearing it cause its worth 2x my car.... cool experience tho. lmao.
I have an Omega Speedmaster - Dark Side of the Moon. It's likely my most precious possession. The story and history of Omega resonated with me and drove my decision toward the Speedmaster.
DLK
I have seamaster. its been 10 yrs and really love it, because of the design of it. didn't even know it was james bond's watch.
My Omega Seamaster Professional is 20 yo...had it's first service done just 1year ago.
I have an Omega Speedmaster Profesional, which I bought brand new in 1970, and it has followed me ever since, it has been exposed to the most harsh trials, from - 32 degrees Celsius in the Alps, to + 50 degrees Celsius in Central Africa, and it has never failed me, it has now followed me faithfully for almost 48 years
15 facts ? You could not even get the Year of Founding wright. That was 1848 guys.
Hahahaha I stopped watching the video at 0:44 when the narrator said omega was founded in..... 1903 !!!! 😂😂😂😂😂
Good point. But the founding year is not one of the 15 facts. I hope all the “facts” are indeed facts. All are fascinating stories. All in all, Omega is the most storied watch in history.
@@chuan-kangshih78 I agree with you about the fact that the founding date is not part of the facts however it's a huge discredit to the video . I prefer listening to more knowledgeable people talking about timepieces with all due respect to this channel 😁👍
Omega is cooler than Rolex!
No doubt of that
There Old watch yes, don't know about the watches they make now days. I daily a speedmaster so i can say that ;D
how can you afford this watch?
Not resale wise.
Zhemin Lin they aren't that expensive compared to other watches
Having recently added the 2018 Seamaster 300m to my collection I can attest to the thoughts now that this watch has taken the crown away from the Rolex Sub. Gorgeous to look at and a joy to behold when light glances across the new ceramic wave dial. Beautifully crafted from top to bottom and a lot less than the equivalent 116610 Submariner. Side by side the Omega wins hands down. The new calibre's 8800 and 8900 are stunning pieces of engineering which can now be fully appreciated with the addition to the Seamaster 300m of the Saphire display back which for me is a delight to be able to view and appreciate a great in-house movement built around the George Daniels designed Co-Axial escapement.
Yes, I own an Omega. I have the 2531.80 SMP. I chose it because I believe it represents the highest level of movement and beauty ever produced in a dive watch. Yes, I have actually used it as a dive watch!
DLK
It's a good video overall but god that intro was irritating.
Should point out that Bond movies have featured many watch brands throughout the franchise but the original character in the novels favoured a Rolex submariner.
True, but since 1995's Goldeneye the Omega brand has been the official James Bond watch.
Got my first Omega last week, an Omega Seamaster 300 GMT 50th Anniversary. Always loved Omega. You get so much for the money. Well worth it.
Patek, Zenith & Omega. The names ooze class. Great styles
My father bought my Omega Seamaster in 2001 as a high school graduation gift and I’ve had it for 18 years now. I look forward to passing it on to one of my sons and also looking to get a Speedmaster also.
Aquired my Omega Seamaster 300 this February 2017. It's my Bond watch I have always wanted. It was manufactured in 1998. Thank you for a grand video and history lesson!
i have the constellation pie pan and why i love omega (especially the vintage omega) is because the models are timeless.
I own three Omega Seamasters. 2254.60 in black, SMPc in blue and PO 8500 in black. No regrets my most prized possessions.
My first watch was Rolex Daytona. But second and third were Omega Speedmaster moonwatch and Omega Seamaster 300 M. I love omega for history (speedmaster) and solid watches (seamaster).
Bought an Omega Flightmaster in 1977, new for $400. It was stolen several years later while I was in college. It was worth several thousand $ at that point. I went back to more affordable Seikos after that.
Finally someone that pronounces Omega correctly. Thank you Alux!! Could you also please do Audemars Piguet and Ulysse Nardin?
On my 60th Birthday I got an Omega Quartz seamaster👍
Omega Seamaster is my next watch I am getting. Trying to decide if I want the Titanium or Stainless case.
Just picked up a vintage Genève. Gotta love the watch! My next one is an Aqua Terra 😉
Kyle Adler the Geneve is lovely! Was it hard to find?
I was going to tell you guys to do this video yesterday. I am happy Y'all did it.
I just bought my husband Omega Seamaster Diver 300M Co-Axial Chronograph 41.5MM. I was doing so much research between Rolex Submariner Oyster 40MM and Omega Seamaster Diver. I love buying things relating to its value per price. I don’t like comparing which brand is superior or what not. Different watches have different qualities. And there is a fit for everyone at all price ranges. The reason I went for Seamaster other than Submariner for my husband is that he is still young in his late 20s. He is quite active guy and he likes to wear the same thing every single day. He is a carefree guy. We both are believers in you buy things to use them not to baby them. So biggest concern was scratch resistance. In the past Omega didn’t have dual sided AR coating. So I would’ve gone with the Submariner. Now it isn’t the case. Another one was aesthetics. This is all subjective. Personally I love the older Seamaster model where it had the beautiful ripples on the back! Gorgeous! But again, the newer model is still sick! Personal preference but I love that red that goes with black. Something about Submariner was a bit too plain for me. I am hoping in the future to get him Rolex Cosmograph Daytona Oyster Platinum Ice Blue Dial. I say future because I don’t know about you guys..but where I live there is a wait list on this.....my husband’s favorite color is that ice blue and I think he would just love that! Let me know if there are any watch enthusiasts out there what you guys are doing to get closer to the waitlist!
I’m lucky to have this Speedmaster Moonwatch last week-, love the simple elegance, functionality, versatility and history of this watch❤
I used to own an Omega speed master profesional untill my Mother threw it away by accident. That was the worst day of my life. My mother literally threw away more than 2k down the trash
Why would he be lying about this. And why would he have watch insurance, 2000$ watch must mean it's a low end omega anyways. And what's the point of calling him an idiot?
Ahhh Bless your mother, she stopped you from becoming a show off. We all love our mother for their infinite wisdom. I used to own 13 volumes of the Encyclopedia Brittanica but had to burn them all, why... My mother knows everything so I simply ask her instead.
an old omega in good shape use to be way more than 2K
John Cervoni Thanks for the updz for 👍
Where is she buried?
Just took receipt of my omega speedmaster moon watch yesterday superb iconic brand!
I Own a OMEGA SEAMASTER octagonal dial wrist watch which i bought in Baghdad in 1984. It is an automatic watch.
My Omega Seamaster has been my most reliable watch so far...I also have a Seamaster chronograph...top watches...
I have inherited a 1954 solid gold Omega with a 266 handwinding movement. Keeps perfect time. Looks classy. Thanks for the Video. I want a Speedy one day. My other dress watch is an Orient Bambino Blue V4. My daily tool beater is a Vostok Amphibia black scuba dude.
Hey, you forgot to add this very important trivia: The Omega Marine was the first dive watch, the first watch specifically tested and qualified for diving in 1932.
Omega is the only watch I can afford out of all the watch alux reviewed.Hands down one of the best..
at 4:17 is a rolex. either a sub or gmt...
J Li I think that's the GMT Beyoncé bought Jay Z
Yeah, it's a GMT
If you want to learn about Omega this is not a good video.👎👎
Agreed that is a Rolex. I think the Omega looks better, but I would not be caught dead wearing either. People that buy these hideous monstrosities should be publicly ousted or should just wear a g-shock. Same tacky-ness, but cheaper.
@@Todd.T fuck off. G-shock are great. Dummy
I have an Omega Speedmaster MKII. It is now 45 years old (got it for my 21st) and it is still going on strong and accurate with no problems.
I have an omega DeVille 1336 quartz and I searched it over on the internet but can't find any information about that exact model can anyone shed any light on it Thanks
2010 Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean, 600m 45.5mm. I have owned it for almost 8 years now and it is my favorite. It is chunky and heavy and it shows very nicely on my wrist.
The first picture as a part of No. 5 "The Most Expensive Omega Watch", is actually that of a Rolex GMT Master II " Ice" and not of the Omega Constellation Baguette Again for number 7. the picture of Gorbachev's favourite constellation is incorrect. The picture shown is actually of an older generation Omega Constellation.
I have a Seamaster 300m. Love it !
I own a Omega Seamaster 300 with a blue dial...Got inspired to buy a Omega after seeing the Goldeneye movie
1994 Seamaster 200m 36mm pre-Bond stainless with gold bezel and crown. Hundreds of dives and every day wear for 20 years. It has taken a serious beating but the gold accent gives that sparkle back. Just a great watch for work, and dress.
My dad has a Seamaster 300m, he bought it new in 2003 and he hasn’t bought another watch since then, it still runs smooth and it’s in top condition, who would’ve known that such a “cheap” watch compared to other brands would end up being a really nice piece!
I owned 5 in total, my first omega was a constellation quartz mid 80’d the one with the square case, my second was a seamaster, third is a mid 60’s deville, and the most recent ones are a quartz constellation with gold plated bracelet, and the one I bought this week is a mid 60’s constellation automatic
Hi Aluxers, i love of this video compilation, can someone help me with where to get this footage for this videos
My grandfather left me his old omega watch 18 years ago when he passed i know nothing about it where would i be able to find out any help would be good thanks
Though i dnt hav it YET.... bt someday i will.... In lov wit an omega for a long long time.... N the inspiration is from the spy himself... bond, james bond
I just bought an Omega SeaMaster yesterday because I believe it’s the best built watch on the planet and one of the most Iconic outside the SubMariner
May I suggest a video about Vertu cell phones... It would be nice.
cool to see my omega Globemaster annual calendar is featured in multiple scenes throughout this video 😀
#12. Correction: daniel craig is a fan of the Omega Seamaster 300 Professional. (No such thing as a Speedmaster Professional 300)
Purchased an Omega Seamaster Professional Chronograph, in the early months of 2000, when my daughter was born. Still have it today and it keeps great time.
I have an omega speedmaster professional moonwatch I purchased it mainly because of its iconic association with Apollo 11 I also have the Bulova back up moon watch ( Quartz ) this is also really nice but the omega is much nicer.
Few days ago it was my 18 birthday and my parents bought me Omega watch, we are middle working class and I didn’t excepted that. I am so great full and happy for Omega and not Rolex.
i will never buy a smart watch!!!
Funny thing, my Apple Watch is what sparked my interest in watches.
@@77714anthony talk about irony. I just bought an apple watch for my wife
I had a omega but now have a Rolex sub no date ceramic and now I definitely don't miss my omega!! 😀
I myself have a Seamaster 120M with the silver wave dial. Absolutely gorgeous. My pride and joy.
U guys are definitely stepping up your game! u guys rock!
Great video! Please can you do a video on Audemars Piguet watches!? They are awesome!! Thanks
Have had an Omega Geneva for 35 years still going strong
I own 8 Omega watches, Including the Omega Seamaster my father got from my grandfather when I was born. My daily watch is an seamaster gmt 50 year edition.
I have an 1969 Omega Sea Dweller that was handed down to me from my Grandfather and my Dad. It's one of my most favorite memento's.
The very first shot of the diamond encrusted watch was a Rolex. Then the omega was shown. Lol
question regarding the Seamaster Aqua Terra Golf: how much water-resistant is it actually, maybe up to 5 meters w/o problems ? Do not need more than max 10 meter. How about some shock resistance, ok to do MTB with it and outdoors ? Great model but maybe the 300 meter depth model is better ? Regards JR2FJI KJ6ARR
Omega Speedmaster. Happily ticking since 25 years.
Very nice channel (can you make a video on breitling )
Interesting, and here I thought the king of complications was the minute repeater. Seeing as how less than ten watch brands know how to build one and perpetual calendars can be found in watches for less than $10k. Whereas a minute repeater is rarely found in a watch less than $100k
I own an Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Good Planet, which I purchased in March, 2017. I purchased it because of its excellent quality and because it has a superb movement.
I'm very impressed, love at first sight Omega ladies watch at Dubai Duty Free Last 2008, Christmas present for myself.
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 thank God... i have been waiting for this video for a long time... but after they released the Rolex video i couldn't wait no more.... thank you very much ALUX for making this wonderful video.....👌👌👌👌👍👍👍👍
We're so happy you liked it!
I do have OMEGA watch SM300 with sedna gold and am saving for the 44mm chronograph gold and black. Omega just gives u more for ur money.
My Omega Seamaster is from 1954, originally bought by my grandfather. I am most into vintage Omega watches before 1990
I've seen Ringo in concert recently... "was" is not a word for him, because he is VERY MUCH still alive.
I love Omega because they are more "me" than other marques. The are pretty understated, have a fantastic pedigree and a lot of engineering goes into the movements. My only minor gripe is that they do too many special versions such as the 007 series which (for me) seems to cheapen the brand. However, I'm not a Rolex guy - Not my image (although I didn't know that Rolex are a not-for-profit company!). Omega seems to be the choice of engineers for some reason - That is what my experience has been so far.... I bought my Speedmaster (Hesalite) about three and a half years ago because my late Aunt left me some money and I wanted something that I could keep for a lifetime that I could remember her by. She was a really important person in my life and I know she would have approved. I bought it because of the story behind it and also put it on the Omega leather strap. I've always really enjoyed owning and wearing it. I wanted a Seamaster and completely fell in love with the black ceramic Planet Ocean and managed to negotiate a really good price during a recent trip to Poland. The METAS certification was the thing that really clinched it for me (there is a video by Omega which goes into detail of the testing that is carried out) plus I love the arrow hands. My understanding is that the 8900 movement is being used in the forthcoming 2018 Seamaster 300 which should make a really fantastic timepiece even more attractive although I was a little unsure of the lume on the rotary bezel. The PO is a bit more "blingy" than the 300 being a little thicker, but I wanted something a little different. Useless factiod for other Speedy fans - Gene Kranz, Mission Director of the Apollo programme wore a Seiko 5 series watch, so I had to add a couple of those to my small collection, just for continuity of the space thing :)
I do. A de Ville and and Speedy. It was the space exploration that decided it for me. And the ones I chose have a tactful style I think.
You didn't mention that on the apollo 15 mission, astronaut David Scott's speedmaster's crystal popped off. He had to use his back up watch which was the Bulova Moon watch.
I celebrated my 16th birthday in Rome on 20 July 1969. That event signaled to me that I would be a world traveler (I hoped at the time that I could have been a space traveler). I have lived the last 5 years in Paris and will be retiring to Antibes to live with my wife. To celebrate my 65th birthday, I bought an Omega Seamaster Professional, even though I have a nice set of Rolexes, including an 18k Rolex Yachtmaster, because of what is written on the back of the watch, “FLIGHT-QUALIFIED BY NASA FOR ALL MANNED SPACE MISSIONS:THE FIRST WATCH WORN ON THE MOON-PROFESSIONAL MOONWATCH.” I feel lucky to have lived these last 48 years and lucky to have the first watch on the moon. I am still hoping to wear my MOON WATCH into space, maybe for the 50th anniversary of the first moon walk on 20 July 2019!
Seamaster for almost 2 decade! Looks great, functional and durable that looks pretty much the same brand new!
I am a professional diver and own two planet ocean sea master professionals. And unlike others for show- I use them for what they are intended. Many dives only flooded one. Company completely replaced. Tough watches and very beautiful!
I have 3 Rolexes and in the market for a Seamaster dive 300m in 28mm. Since the Rolex sub is too big for my wrist, I will be getting the Omega. I'm a diver and I will use the watch as my alternate diving tool. thanks for the cool video. OH! I used to own the Constellation (20 years ago), had a break in, forgot to put it in the safe when we went camping.
Some mistakes in the video. It's Wally Schirra but not Walter Schirra. And James Bond wore Seamasters. Not Speedmaster.
Commander James Bond wears a SEAmaster, which is fitting for him since he is ex navy before he was a 007 agent. ( You also can just looked up the watch and read the dial says on it ) Number 5 is a Rolex iced out with Brilliant cut diamonds ( brilliants are round ) the Omega watch has Baguette cut diamonds hence it's called the Omega Baguette. Omega was founded in 1903 as it's own Brand.
please can you do a brand video on Armani including the sub brands of them too like Emporio Armani and Georgio Armani and Armani Jeans
I have the 2222.80. I got it because it is a remake of the first Bond Watch. (GoldenEye) As a collector I would like a Rolex, but Dollar for Dollar Omega is a better Watch.
thats james gardner not Jack Lemon.
I went to a slew of yardsales one day with a jeweler. At the last sale I saw a box... Opened what I was sure contained no watch. I saw a beautiful Omega (a retirement gift to the owner who has recently passed away). I covertly flashed the box to the jeweler. His eyes bugged out. I removed the watch, shook it to get it wound, and the lady who owned it said, "Oh, it works." "Ok... uh... how much is it?" "$10. The price is on the box" I reached in my pocket. "Well... would you take $5?" "No, I really need to get $10." I pulled-out the rest of my money. "I'll give you $7. It's all I have." "Well... ok." Still have it. I won't sell to anyone reading this... you know what I paid!
The last letter of the Greek alphabet and the first name in quality in watches.
I have 6 Omega watches, 3 vintage handed down by my father, and 3 modern. Vintage: Omega Constellation Automatic 1964 gold case date certified chronometer, Geneve Dynamic day date automatic, 1982 Golde case Deville quarts. Modern watches: Speed Master profesional moon watch, Sea Master Planet Ocean Co-axial 2008, Sea Master 300M chronograph and chronometer, date, black face.
I bought it ad a agd of 17 3 weeks ago and i like the brand because is so nice to see it works and you dont.s bought for satus like rolex I bought it just i like the brand and like how swiss watches are work
Finally! Omega!!! Thanks! 😄👍👍👍
I have omega constellation sins 2014 And its Accuracy is super ❤
My first real luxury watch was a Speedmaster Professional! Love it!
