  • My first automatic was my Carrera Calibre 16. I know that in the watch enthusiast world, TAG is looked down on but they still hold a special place in my heart. One day I might get another Carrera with the Heuer 02 in-house movement.

  • Prior to TAG, Heuer was and still is a respected watch manufacturer with a long history and heritage in watch making. From the founder to great grandson to TAG who acquired Heuer in early 1980s it has maintain true to its past with the likes of Autavia, Carrera and Monaco three iconic series in racing motor sport that is currently and relentlessly still a fan favorite. I recently acquired a Carrera Montreal with the H02 in-house caliber and it's truly amazing in every way. The H02 is an engineering marvel and the best movement to date with fully integrated chronograph, column wheel/vertical clutch mechanism and operates at 28.8K VPH at 4HZ, 80 HRS power reserve on a single barrel with only 168 carefully design parts to increase performance and accuracy while reducing wear on triticale parts all while fully in-house, no more Seiko 6S37 modification or Sellita-Dubois modules. The H02 requires less service intervals as well. 7K is a lot but not for the Montreal, It gives my Zenith Liberty a run for its money.

    • Happy for you. But I prefer by far my Seiko SARB033. It's much more affordable and unlike a TAG, the movement is REALLY 100% in-house designed and made.

  • Was recently give a. TAG HEUER watch made of rose gold and sapphire glass by a friend, to my surprise when I checked the value of the said item. I was shocked to see that it cost so much. It's really a luxurious watch of which I would always cherish and thanks. A Luxers for the series on. TAG Heuer.

  • I’ve owned two Tag Heuer Carrera day/date chronographs. One with a black face, the other white. I found myself wearing the white faced piece 95% of the time. I’ll get a blue face Carrera next. Great watches!

    • I recently came across my dads tag huer kirium watch that has been sitting in the drawer since the strap broke. I polished, got a new silicone strap and battery and it looks awesome. 19 year old watch that looks modern with carbon fiber chronograph but doesn’t look like anything of today

  • The Carrera Chronograph is one of the best looking watches out there, even now 8-10 years later my Carrera still gets looks. From a design aspect, ill buy another one over some of the more expensive watches out now like Omega$, Tudor$ and Grand Seiko(well.. maybe not a Grand Seiko haha) Only drawback is that it cost alot to service Automatics. Shame!

I have another watch, a very elegant Festina F16745-5. I don't like "smart watches". What about you, all ? Cheap ? Expensive ? A lot of "complications" ? Sport ? Big ?   • No, if Tag Heuer wasn’t officially born until the 80s, John Glen didn’t wear a Tag Heuer. He wore a Heuer watch. That’s a bit like saying a 1970s Skoda is a Volkswagen just because they merged in 1991.

  • 16. TAG was not a watch company, it was the holding company of a Saudi arms dealer who also bought a motorsports company, produced many cheap and gaudy watches, and spent millions on marketing. Which is why people old enough to remember Heuers snicker at people boasting about their TAGs. P.S. The brand is much better now that TAG is gone, can we call them Heuers rather than tags?

  • Nice facts, but, it is still uses out side movements, and worse, it claim (in house movements) which are either seiko or ETA. Thus is a low budget watch.
