Fantastic. Thank you all for naming the size of our underwater neighbors . cheers from germany 👍
Thank you for the names and time stamps really interesting video
Wow the quality has drastically increased. I'm impressed.
Music?
Repent to Jesus Christ “Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” Psalms 139:23-24 NIV J
I love the deep sea. Almost everything down there looks like an alien creature from a sci-fi movie.
Surely not from a big bang but from thought
That's because they are aliens to the world we live in. They live at one extremity of Earth's biosphere and we live almost at the other end. The real question is how much stuff is down there we DON'T know about.
They really do.
Repent to Jesus Christ “Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” Psalms 139:23-24 NIV
@@pitbulls2849 order arises out of chaos ... so the Big Bang theory is still valid.
What I find so fascinating is how these seemingly fragile-looking creatures are able to withstand water pressures that would crush us instantly.
Same but from what I read their bodies are mostly water so it’s compressible
well they are not particularly hard or resistant, they just compensate the pressure by adapting the internal pressure
They wouldn’t be able to withstand our habitat either..
Yeah it's fascinating how it works. I suppose it helps that they're not hollow or really filled with gases. I think the issue comes when there is something with it's own internal pressure that ends up surrounded by higher pressure, whereas deep sea animals are always in it, so it doesn't affect them, i.e. if you sank a open barrel and then another barrel that had been welded shut with air in it, the barrel with the open end would maintain it's shape but the one that was welded shut at surface air pressure would eventually be crushed.
It's almost like seeing aliens, seeing creatures that have adapted to conditions and ecosystems so different from those we live in.
I would like to personally thank whoever did the closed captioning. You went above and beyond and there's a special place in heaven for people like you.
My CC was off. Thanks for mentioning it. This is why I come to comments first. And it’s useful that’s it’s instead of onscreen, leaves space for the images.
They didn't go above and beyond they went deep below and beyond 😂
yes!!! i never realized how small most of these creatures trully are
Apyssal
Beautiful!! I appreciate the calm music, no talking and enough info to make this a very enjoyable view.
yes!
I absolutely cannot get over the peacock squid. It looks like something straight out of Subnautica, not something that lives on Earth! The strawberry squid is probably my second favorite. It is the exact texture of a strawberry, and those mismatched eyes are crazy!
to be fair the artist who made subnautica creatures is a really good speculative biologist
The panda eared sea angel has my heart in a chokehold
It's one of the most interesting creatures I ever seen
The Black Sea Devil Anglerfish is about the scariest thing I have ever seen. I wonder who was the first human to lay eyes on it and are they okay. 😂
We could watch this all day-and we just might 👀
I sea -what you did there 👀
Just came here because you recommended it and I am not disappointed. 🤗
Absolutely
Hehe, same here😊
Dude.....I'm so high right now at 2 am, this is awesome 👌
What's so incredible is the same thread of life that made them is shared with everything on the Earth, including humans. It's mind blowing.
Just a lovely, relaxing ten minutes (well, OK, 9:53) observing deep sea life. No overblown commentary or loud, obnoxious soundtrack--just nice music and ID for each species shown. When younger, my dream job would have been working as an oceanographer at MBARI. Almost 40 years later, at pushing 70, I still think that.
thank you for including timestamps and sizes! had no idea those chimaerae were actually quite large... and that crystal amphipod being over a foot long seems pretty big for an almost entirely transparent crustacean!
6 inches is only half a foot, but still that's a big sea bug!
Repent to Jesus Christ “Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” Psalms 139:23-24 NIV J
Yes! I already was in heaven just getting to see these creatures.....but then I clicked and accidentally stumbled upon that feature as well. Took it to the next level of awesome. It was especially informative where we see this creature eating that creature and BOTH creatures are identified. ❤❤❤
I always thought that the barreleye was large. It’s kinda shocking to see that they’re only 6in.
@@getonthecrossanddontlookba5004unrelated to the vid
I always think "surely I've already seen all the strangest deep sea creatures" and then I'll watch another MBARI video and realise there's still so many weird and wonderful creatures out there 😂 thank you for posting this fantastic footage, it makes me excited to be alive knowing that I share the planet with such incredible things!
This is such a great example of proof of the unknown. The fact that these are deep sea creatures and also super high quality shots of them! I can honestly say that this is the first list I've seen with such detailed video of them. Thank you for sharing!
It's CGI, photos of (very) deep sea creatures are rare
Feather star looks like biblically accurate angel
The mystery, the unparalleled beauty of these wondrous creatures never fails to inspire me to create. As a digital artist I have found this channel most fascinating; the worlds oceans are so vast and as of yet mostly unexplored. Kudos to MBARI for bringing them to us, your hard work is very much appreciated.
You'd enjoy the book of Job
Thx for our god
And who do you think created this vast mysterious ocean
@@zak5891 I don’t think anyone created it.
@@alphaomega17 Objectively speaking I don’t think most people would truly enjoy the book of Job. Or any books in the Bible, honestly. I’m more fascinated by things that are demonstrably real.
The extreme diversity of life is SO fascinating! Imagine what these creatures can sense and what they perceive when they come across man made objects. That was a very exciting video. Thanks for including the size and depth info, that made the video a lot more entertaining!
don’t you think there is a Creator of all of these majestic creatures, they so elegant and beautiful or do you think they came from nothing?
No there is no creator @@jjama8668
They're clearly adapted to their environment...@@jjama8668
All of this was created by the Lord of the Worlds, the Lord of Jesus, Muhammad, the prophets, humanity, and all creatures in this world
@@jjama8668 All of this was created by the Lord of the Worlds, the Lord of Jesus, Muhammad, the prophets, humanity, and all creatures in this world
It's crazy how the darkest part of the ocean has the most beautiful creatures!
It's wonderful to imagine that there's life overflowing these deep dark waters, unbelievable that so many creatures can live in such place that looks so dead but at the same time so full of life
It's fascinating to me how I have no sense of scale for these amazing creatures, so little frame of reference. The black sea devil angler fish (1:04) being just 6cm took me completely out!
having had prior knowledge that most anglerfish are much smaller than their fearsome looks may impress, i was more surprised to see two of the anglerfish being over 30cm... that is quite nightmarish imo...
How about the Swarthy snaketooth being only 1 inch.... 6:18
We might think most sea creatures down in the bottom of the ocean would be massive due to deep sea gigantism, (ie. giant isopods) but not likely. Many species are slow growing or small in size due to the availability of food, amount of energy they have to expend, to hunt or escape from predators. Some species of deep sea fish are capable of swallowing prey their own body length, because they might not get that chance again, for a long time.
And the males are tiny compared to females 😂 I wonder how small they are!!
What If... 6m 🤣🤣
I would stream videos like this on my TV all day if I could. This is absolutely stunning and the music is perfect.
7:35 and 8:50 It is so relaxing watching the way these creatures propel themselves through the water. Beautiful film from beginning to end. ❤❤❤
Those 2 are so amazing! Thank you for reminding of them! ❤
What a guy who captured these creatures just to show us. Hats off to all of you.
5:49 he looks like he’s running late to school.
Hi guys, you made my day!! Thank you for these magnificent pictures of a hidden world of beauty and horror.
They all look absolutely unreal, so stunning.
All of this was created by the Lord of the Worlds, the Lord of Jesus, Muhammad, the prophets, humanity, and all creatures in this world
Such an awesome video. I love that someone took the time to include some specs each animal above the video bar. Thank you whoever you are!
Absolutely mesmerizing! Thanks for both the on-screen ID and the related info below to put these amazing critters in perspective!
I may never visit the Monterey Bay Aquarium in person, but I'll always love their videos.
3:44 Looks like he knows something we don't
haha smug lil guy
Peacock squid is my new favorite animal. What the hell even is that.
Absolutely STUNNING! I feel like I need at least 10 hrs of video to learn more about these 10 mins worth of shots. Fascinating, captivating, and enthralling
don’t you think there is a Creator of all of these majestic creatures, they so elegant and beautiful or do you think they came from nothing?
Please 🙏 keep these coming .. there just incredible And SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO relaxing to watch ...... Thanks once again for bringing this video to us 💗❤️
Thanks for a glimpse into the other "final frontier" which is wonderful and amazing. Such a well produced and informational video. Hope I can make it out there someday.
I can't really articulate how much I loved this! Absolutely beautiful
Wow! This is amazing. I used to always look forward to visiting MBARI for work so that I could check out the underwater cameras on their livestream TVs they kept in the lobby. That blackdragon looks like something out of an H.R. Geiger painting. It really is amazing how species diversity is so abundant in the oceans. In contrast, there is only one kind of human left.
Not true at all, human diversity is obvious to those that can see.
Dazzling footage as always! That morph between fish around 6:22 really caught me off guard!
🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ That’s an effect
@@bili4591 That is correct. I don't think I've seen them edit their videos like that before, so it was a fun surprise. =)
Absolutely fascinating! Thank you for those stunning insights!
Would love extended, hours long videos of all the creatures. Watching these seems to calm me to sleep.
Beautiful and terrifying. Two adjectives that always comes to my mind when I think about ocean/sea. Even if I do recreational diving I can't help but feel dread when huge unknown stretches out before me and always knowing that I'm just a visitor in Poseidon's Kingdom.
Amazing! Thank you, Monterey Bay Aquarium for this wonderful look at sea life. Showing size and depth really impact my perception of life in the ocean.
the rabbit eared comb jelly thingy… soooo cute
Panda bear sea angel! 😍
A really nice selection of creatures most people will never see.
5:11 - What an incredible thing to capture! The two arms it shoots out stretch so far compared to the rest!
Absolutely FASCINATING ❤️ LOVE LOVE these images and THANK YOU for bringing them to us!!!!
Absolutely stunning creatures. Wonderful video thank u u!!!
This seems to be where all the good art works of the aquatic engineers who were in charge of designing this aspect of nature were kept, this is stunning,I can only imagine what's beyond this...
Fantastic footage. Those close-ups are amazing! Thanks for compiling.
Qué increíbles estos seres, que bellos son. Me impacta la diversidad de vida en el mundo. Bendiciones
Thanks for sharing beautiful and very presentation all shown deep sea organisms. Info about their names plus size and where they live are priceless 👏
Anyone here watching cause of the missing titanic submarine?
imagine these creatures live under that kind of pressure 🤯
I'm here 🙈
🙌
these creatures look so fragile and peaceful.. Yet they live at depths where we are instantaneously CRUSHED.
Thank you MBARI for a video that brings magic of nature.
2:05 The blue shark was a paid actor!
I love the Feather Star and the Pacific Blackdragon! Just imagine what else is out there yet to be discovered.
As always thank you for your awesome work.
So many amazingly weird, fantastic and wonderful sea creatures, and excellent videography.
Best 10 minutes of my day, no doubt !! Wow......
Beautiful video ! Capturing&sharing is appreciable!!!
Incredibly amazing footage as always, thanks Mbari! Only suggestion i wanted to make, was to add the creatures actual size in cm/meters to the actual video, knowing their size helps appreciate and understand these amazing creatures better👍
it's in the subtitles
Fascinating. This is a part of creation not yet fully explored. Some of its forms are so curious that they awaken our imagination of what could be creatures from another planet.
thank you so much for this fascinating videos
Quite fantastic video! So many new entities which most of us never saw before. A pretty big job to shoot and collect them here! Thanks a lot!
Nature is calling you The unique beauty and relaxing sounds of nature.🌿☘️🌱🌼💚👍
These are all so cool! I had never heard of owlfishes and I really like how big their scales are.
When that squid floated by eating that very same owlfish we had just seen a few minutes before trapped in the squid's tentacles was heartbreaking I'm too weak for this nature shit
Incredible! Thank you so much for sharing with us!
Feels fascinating
Amazing, I've never been much into deep sea, but this makes to want to learn about them more
Çok farklı ve güzel canlılar...Emeğinize sağlık...👏
Such exquisitely beautiful footage, I so enjoyed it very much! I love the mysteries of the deep sea and it amazes me how little most of us know about it, really. I will be following your site, Thank You, Well Done!! x
Probably the clearest imagines I've ever seen of these creatures. Amazing.
I have thalassophobia. I've been watching these videos to try to get over that fear... so far it's kinda working :)
In clear water its not so bad as in unvisible waters to me . ln the Red sea l could swim from our sailingboat to the shore which anchored 300 feet Off the coast because there were Dolphins around. They made me feel save. There were a lot of sharks in the Red SEA 👍
Ha! I didn't know there was a name for this. But of course-- there's a name for everything!
absolutely amazing.. thank you!!
These things are so beautiful, thanks for posting!
Thank you for all the amazing work!
Удивительные существа, кого то видел на фото и рисунках, а многих увидел впервые, да в движении! Огромное спасибо!! Большая глубина, темнота и такое разнообразие
Жаль только то,что в природе все жрут друг друга.
Simplesmente maravilhoso.

Thanks for sharing this stunning Video.I Love the deep SEA creatures they are all really interesting❤
I still can't get over how cute the strawberry squid is! And the sea angels/cliones! The elegant rabbit-eared comb jelly is a new favorite!!! It's Japanese name, Kiyohimea Usagi is cute too! Thank you for this!
OMG. You've shown me things I've never seen before. Those who explore the deep seas have the best jobs. Maybe in my next life I'll be an oceanographer.
Thank you so much for both sharing, and labeling the specimens on screen! This was fascinating to watch. More, please!
Beautiful crystal clear images. Your team have done very well
Finally a worthwhile recommendation on my pfp, great video, thank you for making it, reminds me of the times I used to watch documentaries and read books about animals and dinosaurs all the time lol
Amazing! Thank you 😍👍
1:40 Everything reminds me of her :/
Csodálatos,nagyon köszönöm.
This is gonna be one of my favorite videos ever
7:04 How do we know that there isn't a bigger version of this sea dragon living 40kms deep in the ocean? :)
Tell whoever edited this with the comedically brutal sequence of daily deep-sea life going "jelly eats squid, squid eats fish, fish eats squid....CANNIBAL DEVOURING CHILD* " that they are a Very Good Scientist and I appreciate them. *squidlet? subquidult? lowercase squid?
A glorious collection! Thank you to the Monterey Aquarium for this (as for so much sea-related awesomeness). One remark: at 5:34, the caption says, "Black-Eyed squid eating Stout Owlfish." It looks to me as if it might be the other way around!
Incredibly relaxing to hear this music and watch creation in action. Beautiful! ❤
Muito lindo😍😍😍!!
Fascinating creatures!
Thank you for letting us witness these treasures.
So amazing I love learning more about the deep sea as it is full of wonders!
Ah, great!! Thanks! Still way too short. I'd like to see every creature for several minutes… and I'm certainly not the only one. But I'll rewatch this right now!
Got me convinced that these animals would absolutely have to be from another planet. Seems like things down there are so much more complex than we’ve ever seen and likely will ever know unfortunately.
The Feather Star Jelly Fish was my favorite! WOW!!! - Susan Burns
relaxing music and what beutiful world of space fishes =)
Спасибо за видео необыкновенные существа! Какое разнообразие, я восхищен!
How can people say aliens don't exist and we have creatures like this on our planet🤔 I can only imagine this is beautiful!
Including the size is so cool, really puts things in perspective
Wow, so beautiful. They all have such unique beauty. Thanks for sharing.
