Free diving is a sport that is both remarkable and dangerous. What intrigues you the most about Guillaume Néry's dive?
Danger always beautiful. Like a star. Love from Bangladesh 🇧🇩
Is he wearing a thong? 😁
He sure makes it look and feel so easy peasy
Wow! I love swimming under the surface! I felt I was swimming with Guillaume, wonderful, only after a while I had to breathe and I never saw him go up and breathe...thank you for this fantastic short film 💖
Just one question..did he do all these in a single breath!
2:41 Walking underwater is like running away from someone in nightmare

The scene diving with the whales just blew me away. I’ve never seen anything so compelling, terrifying and beautiful in my life. And the climax of the music which was perfectly suited for it just wow 😳🤯
This is amazingly beautiful and absolutely terrifying at the same time. The exact feeling I get when I think about space. It's amazing how similar are the emotions that these two vastly apart worlds make you feel.
It's because "space" and ocean are one in the same.
It looks so fun!
I find space more terrifying. The diver looks in control. In space you start moving in one direction and just keep going.
@watermelonlover745 And please DON'T forget terribly frightening too. 🫣😂😂

Beautiful but also terrifying! Being an OPEN water scuba diver, I found myself having a hard time breathing while watching him swim in tight spots and also under the ice, which is one of my biggest fears, getting trapped. Job well done 👏🏼
You think it's real 🙄
I don't think you are supposed to breath when your diving!
That was astonishing. I found myself wanting him to go up for air but he was so peaceful and the scene with the whales was beyond anything I’ve ever seen. Such skill and creativity. Awesome!😮
the thing is, the first whales he swam RIGHT NEXT TO were sperm whales which can produce the loudest sounds in the entire animal kingdom (frequencies higher than 30 kHz), enough to burst eardrums of people from hundreds of miles away. that means that those whales literally could of killed him both by eating him or by screaming if they wanted to, which makes that shot even more beautiful. (whales don't normally eat people though)
@@st4rryni1ghts Great point! The fact that they have that power and don’t choose to use it is unreal. Unlike humans..
When he's running underwater, that looks exactly like my nightmares. I lean forward and push hard, yet moving so slowly

Your dreams are really underwater.

Nobody gonna talk about the insane pressure he was probably feeling being that deep down?
Dude that’s what I was thinking, my head explodes just from only 9 feet down
It's a lot of pressure.
No. Divers do this trick where they hold their nose and blow out and that causes the pressure to not affect them or something like that

To be fair, this is one of the craziest and uncanny things I've ever seen filmed. This man's diving stands for the true meaning of what lucid dreaming may be. As mesmerizing as it was disturbing: climbing trees under water, walking underwater sands, side-climbing amazing cliffs. He takes us for a walk in the upside down world, like an atlantis' inhabitant.
Don't forget: diving into an underwater frozen lake and waves crashing into an underwater beach. I too was absolutely entranced by this upside down world.

that shot when he jumps from the 'beach' and swims into the 'air' is pure cinematic magic. everyone should watch this.
i don't understand that scene, how did they do that
@@mikendaba5050 the "reality" is flipped. he is walking upside down on that beach. it's the downside of a "beach". so actually he is facing the "deep ocean" if u look at 6:12 the light is coming from the downside. that's just my opinion though
I think he's walking on top of an underwater cave. Otherwise, if it was on a beach, he wouldn't have any water on top of his head and would just be walking normally on the beach. If you have any better idea, feel free to share but that's my best guess 👍 Still, the shot greatly amaze me !
He doesn't jump into air. It is an underwater cave called "Cenote Angelita" in Mexico which is also a halocline. A halocline occurs when fresh water sits on top of salt water and the difference in their salinity keeps them separate. The mist and the beach like effect that you see is hydrogen sulphide moving around independently in between fresh and salt water. 5:52 if you look closely you can see that it doesn't behave like tides on a beach. It's just a dense gas trapped between water with different salinity levels.
yep. you got it. salt water and fresh water. looks so crazy.
A dance between humanity and its own reality done so unbelievable well that it can’t possibly be real. THAT is living…

The mammalian diving reflex is weird. You know there's even coincidental physiological things that happen when people get so deep that their lungs should be crushed, that actually keep them from being crushed. It makes me wonder whether humans could become an amphibious species given the right evolutionary pressures.
ive heard things about a certain point in the ocean when its so dark divers think they're swimming up but they're swimming down and often drown and seeing them go further gave me anxiety
