He revealed that he started providing security in high school before following his girlfriend to New York, where he initially joined a gang. He described building a relationship with Diddy after revealing the mogul joined the same gang as him. Gene Deal also explained how Diddy formed and funded Bad Boy before speaking on his relationship with Biggie and the rapper's fallout with Tupac. He elaborated on the East Coast-West Coast feud and explained why Biggie never traded disses with Tupac. Gene continued by speaking on the details and theories surrounding the deaths of Tupac and Biggie. To hear more, check out the full interview above.

  • This man remembers so many clear details because he was most always working security detail and was on the clock while everyone around him was partying and getting faded. Probably the most clearheaded out of anyone around during those times. Crazy.

  • I will never forget watching Puff daddy performing I’ll be missing you at the MTV music awards after Biggie died and just thinking, this dude is enjoying being in Big’s limelight waaaaaayyyy too much. He had a big ol smile at his face. He wanted to be in that spotlight and he rode the wave way too long. I never felt he was genuine or grieving the loss of a friend. He tried to put a show on but it just wasn’t working for me.

    • I believe he's telling the truth too. I've heard him tell the story before and even saw him in a doc about profiling the Muslim guy. BUT the way he told the story this time made me think maybe there was a set up to make it look like a Muslim guy killed Biggie. Could the guy had been paid to walk up to them dressed as a Muslim, have them look him in the face and then walk away to throw them off? Considering they were warned beforehand, it's not far fetched to think that these details were planned out and intentional.

    • Diddy wasn't dismissive of Gene's warning neither was he negligent; Diddy had it all planned out. Otherwise, why would he dismiss or downplay Gene's warning, and sort of insisted that Biggie should attend; plus the fact that when they were out of the party, Diddy was restless rather than entering the vehicle that was already set to move.

He has a persuasive way of testifying. You can feel it's genuine. He tried like many to reign Diddy's behavior in, but Diddy wouldn't change, so he is getting what he deserves. The right woman decided silence is not the answer.

  • Absolutely fascinating interview. I believe everything Mr Deal spoke 💯 You can see the honesty in his eyes, feel the truth coming from his heart, his detailed memories, wow! You can actually visualize his story as he spoke. Thank you Vlad for interviewing this amazing man. I would be honored to have an opportunity to meet him one day ❤️
