    • Yep! I feed four community kitties (all of them are adults lol) daily including one cat who lives in a nearby neighborhood but visits me daily and I feed him, as well as my adopted kitty cat Tigger who showed up in my life last June which made 2020 more interesting. Whenever I go feed one cat who recognizes my steps (I'm guessing) and comes out to meow at me, one or two or even three show up as well which has me running back inside to get them their food. It's pricey but I enjoy feeding them and seeing how they trust me. Or at the very least know I feed them and mean them no harm.

    • I'm not sure they were true feral because if one kitten adapted to humans so quickly they must have had care from a human beforehand. It's a shame no attempt was made to try to rehome the others. One kitten can't be non ferel and the others ferel it just dissent work like that. I've worked in an animal sanctuary so have dealings with strays.

  • He went back to their little kitty nest and told his siblings "There's a really lovely hooman lady, who's filling my belly with foods. You come too and she'll fill your bellies as well" !! 😂 So happy that you've taken on care and ownership of the four remaining kitties. Getting them spayed and neutered is also very responsible, or you'd have had a garden full of in-bred kittens! Plus, getting them all their shots, as well as the regular meals you're providing is so caring and will give the birds and small rodents in the neighbourhood a chance of a longer life, instead of becoming the next meal. Terrific knock-on effect!! Well done! 💖

    • actually it's not ideal that the birds and rodents live longer, as stray cats and other animals help to control populations.

      @razimove438@razimove4382 жыл бұрын
    • We were getting a serious rodent problem -- field mice and a few rats were attracted by the seed under the bird feeder and our elderly (and portly) felines weren't doing anything about it. THEN two young adults moved in from the barn across the street and the rodent population dropped noticeably!! We've asked them to leave the birds alone, and other some stalking and a few practical jokes (cat pops up from beneath deck: "SURPRISE!!!") they've stopped taking feathered trophies. Or maybe the birds are just getting smarter? I suspect insecticides sprayed on the fields is killing more birds than domestic cats kill.

    • Amen. Too many humans (especially Bible thumpers) think non-humans (I hate saying "animals," since we're literally animals, too, just by far the worst ones) are here for us to do what we please with/to them, but it's the exact opposite. Non-humans were here long before us. As an agnostic, I am not arrogant enough to think I can know if we were created by a higher being or if we somehow just randomly came into being (neither makes sense to me, but I digress), but if we were, I 100% believe we were made to look after other animals. We're supposed to be they're protectors, yet so many of us would rather be their destroyers.

      @englishatheart@englishatheart Жыл бұрын
    • @@englishatheart It is definitely beyond the comprehension of humans to fathom that an all powerful being has always been in existence seeing as we all have a beginning and and end, but it is plausible where as the big bang "THEORY" (meaning an unproven hypothesis) is not. Everything in our world is so incredibly complex that having it all just pop into existence randomly is just not possible. Everything on earth has had a maker. Houses? someone had to build them. They didn't just spontaneously materialize. Humans, kittens, puppies etc? Well, we understand the biology of how they come into existence...at least the basics right? 😉 There's a reason why a creator makes sense. We understand that because creation has been part of our lives from the get go. If things just popped into existence in front of our eyes, well, we would probably all think differently! Unfortunately though, this world has so many ideas that bombard us, it can be so confusing to know what is truth and what is.....umm, fake news! I have known a lot of people that are either confused about God, or don't believe in him at all. The main reason? It comes down to the fact they can't understand how an all powerful being would allow the horrible things we witness everyday. But, there's a bigger picture that so many don't see and a time when he won't allow wickedness to exist. The worse things get, the closer we are to that time.

  • Wow. Little kitten with poor vision got a safe loving home, meanwhile skittish shy feral cats got almost a thousand dollars worth of medical treatments, probably an additional outdoor shelter, lots of delicious daily food & love from a distance (just the way they like it!). This couple sacrificed time, energy & money to give every one of these creatures a happy ending. Well done, humans!!!!!!!

They are all TNR'ed by the local rescues, and Trap Dat Cat, also traps humanely, spay/neuters and releases the cats cats back, to their former areas. So the number remains steady at 11. They are great fun and I love doing this little bit to make my community better, and kinder.

  • I’ve save a lot of feral cats, and you can take the feral away, it just takes patience. The fact that they trusted them enough to see them as a safe haven, means they have potential. One of the best times is AFTER they are neutered. Don’t give up, because you could get these cats out of the brutal outdoors into safe, loving homes. If you have the patience for Chip, I guarantee you can do it for the rest of the rescue rangers crew there. Seriously though, it just takes food, patience, and the desire to help, which they have. I hope they try, because they seem like good people.

    • I agree that the 'feral' kittens could have adjusted and benefitted in loving homes. I took care of a feral mother and her kittens (she had 3 litters that I knew of) and she was adopted with her last litter of two ..and is doing wonderfully. It was disappointing to learn that they were spayed and released back into the outdoors....just seemed too quick .. and too presumptive. I agree .. it does take time.

      @morganlucas9062@morganlucas90622 жыл бұрын
    • That maybe true for kittens, but not for real feral adult cats. And there is a difference between a stray and feral cat. I have a real feral cat that I have been feeding for last 13 years. She was an adult when she came to my back yard. She knows I would never hurt her, but I have never been able to touch her, or even get too close to her, she'd run away fast. Because her feral instincts were already instilled in her way before I met her. But I still talk to her from far, she gives me slow blinks, meaning she likes me, which is so sweet. But the ones in this video looked stray and not feral. So most likely all of them could have been tamed and homed.

    • I truly believe angels sometimes guide these kitties in medical need to those who can help them. Many years ago, my wife and I were exiting our front door. A Norwegian Forest Cat kitten was sitting on a table, outside our door. He was so skinny, tried to meow, but no sound came out. He let us put him in a carrier, took him to the vet. The vet gave him medications for upper respiratory infection. We took him home, loved and cared for him. A couple months later he became one of the most affectionate and loving kitten I've ever had. We named him angel. And he lived up to his name.
