In the ancient rainforests of Malaysia, lives an animal so elusive - it is like a phantom. The Malayan tiger is the striped monarch of this kingdom but today, the striped hunter has become the hunted. Poachers enter the land of the tiger to snare and sell their prey. For the tiger to be saved, a definitive new survey is being carried out in the most challenging conditions to find out how many tigers still survive in the wild and where. Thousands of camera traps have been placed throughout this forbidding world and the images are an insight to life in the rainforest. Results from the survey are devastating and galvanises action to save the Malayan tiger.

  • Wow, the footage of the camera traps are amazing! Good to see they caught 2 poachers, but it makes one wonder how many are still operating undisturbed!

  • The enormous size of deforestation is sickening! Have those people no common sense; (don't answer that.) The erosion it causes is reason enough not to allow it! Ban the sale of rare wood species and imprison illegal loggers and poachers for a long time. Greed has no limits.

    • It wouldn't matter if they don't do a better job of protecting them in the first place. They need a zero tolerance policy for poachers. If poachers need money, educate, train and hire them to protect Tigers, if they have a meaningful job and make enough money to live, they wouldn't need to poach.
