    • Abbou They make as much as doctors working 16 games a year.

      @kdub9198@kdub91986 жыл бұрын
    • Yeah, but being a lawyer or a doctor is a more stable job. Fans, coaches, and leagues officials believe they are better off making more money and getting more security in the NFL so that they can work full time just officiating football. Just having these guys flown in for a Sunday football game after a week at the doctor's office is a joke. They should be studying film and trying to become better referees during the work week. They shouldn't be lawyers. The only way to do that is to pay them so much and provide them job security to where they have zero reason to have a 2nd job.

    • Yeah, that was my reaction about 5 minutes in. "Wait, is this just an Ed Hochuli highlight reel?" I'll agree that Hochuli's a decent referee in terms of his calls. He sure loves the camera, though; I'm usually happier if the zebras aren't drawing so much attention from the players on the field.

  • There was one NFL game in the late 90s where the referee made his call something like "Holding on the defense, number 89. You can't do that!" It was always my dad's favorite call, and we would add that to at least one penalty every time we would watch games together.

  • 4:34 when refs give these creative calls, it shows they truly understand what they saw and what call will be made. I see it in youth basketball, youth soccer, and just now in this own video. It’s like in school when you need to define a word or a phrase in your own words, because that would show that you understand it.
