The intense focus in assembling this machine, and that proud smile at the end........priceless! MB is genius in letting assemblers put their signatures on the engines they work on. That definitely motivates them to do a stupendous job on each and every engine they touch. It would bear their name on it after all. Pride and accountability demand high standard of QC in every step of this assembly.
Isn't the "one engine, one mechanic" policy the standard for high-end sports cars manufacturers ?
I think this beats the assembly line hands down. This guy has a sense of pride knowing he assembled the engine by himself and it showed by the smile he had putting his name on the motor. This is how you keep employees happy by making them a real part of the product!
I love the fact that he doesn't appear to seem rushed at any step in the assembly process, really puts a smile to my face. Thank you Mercedes!
It's not really Mercedes, it's filmed over at their cousins at Aufrecht&Melger. Hence the very different work ethics and the hand building with a smile on face. It's not a Mercedes plant.
the smile at the end is real one from heart👍
So happy that there is no background music except the drills etc. I love it.
Dan B exactly
Same thing I was thinking. There is no need for loud music to hype up your video.
Same here - the machines sing songs of their own. Sound follows function.

A true artist. His smile at the end is totally justified. Who wouldn't enjoy signing his masterpiece?
His master piece? He is just assembling it, not creating it.
I was waiting for that smile
@@amjadkhan-jv6xj no he is the creator.
Made in Germany by an Indian lol
How about moment 4:41 :D
Gotta love that smile when he stands back and looks at all his hard work. You sir are an artist!. 🙏🙏

Many people can do that.
The satisfactory smile at the end speaks everything about AMG. Respect and profession.
Having disassembled M116/M117's, M119's, M113's and M273's it's really cool to see the evolution and continuity of MB engines over the generations. The M-B black RTV is one of the best sealants we have ever used, often replacing terrible VAG and BMW shim gaskets with much better results. Great video
Does a repair shop have access to the same sealant machine for an overhaul or repair or do they just have to wing it? The machine process looks near perfect.
@@mssedmebich1621 wing it but it's not hard to get right in my opinion
He worked very well and very accurately, that increasing confidence in the Mercedes cars
If you take a look at an engine, you're observing years of experience, engineering and hard work. this masterfully construction took years of work. It's like a beautiful picture which gets better, more beautiful every year. This is why I love our human species. Besides of our problems, we created things like this engine through cooperation and knowledge.

building a engine from scratch watching this guy is awesome true master piece
He was so proud at the end. Work of art.
That is something that does not exist in American manufacturing, pride in your work and the willingness to actually put your name on what you do.
@@flyingdog1498 Not a fair comparison. Do you have any idea how much that single engine costs or how much that guy gets paid to build it? Your comparing to U.S. production line workers that are building engines that cost less than a 10th of what that engine costs.
@@WhalerGA My point exactly zero pride in their work, U .S. workers are unskilled buffoons.
I worked there for 1 year in the IT. We supported the engine production and I was running every day around there. Every mechanics can produce 13 engines per 8 hours. My job was boaring! ;) Nice to see it again.
His name is Sivadas Inthradas, one of the engineers in Affalterbach AMG headquaters who assembles the AMG 63 V8 and other AMG engines, he's been with Mercedes for over 11 years, hats off to him, dream job it is!
Great and clever human being. But, engineers do not assemble machines, they design them. Technician do though.
Love that look on his face at the end. 10/10
Example of the finest mechanics.... Bravo!!!!!
Look at his face at the end of the making, he is so proud to do his job. I wish I had the same job at the same factory.
yeah i agreee
yea getting a job at german car companies probably is one of the best things that can happen to you
ohh cmon its just a mercedes

Émerveillement devant le savoir faire de cet opérateur, et toutes ces phases de montage minutieuses, bravo !
Love that AMG sign on the crankshaft🥰
What I smile on his face at the end of the video. Great job! :)
I would love to buy this AMG63 with the engine assembled with this young man. Look how he smile at the ending of this video. He's very sincere with his job. Proud of him & Benz !

Fairly certain you want him inside you also.
Serial number enigme?!?
Like. All of them are proud when they put their own badge on the engine. Duh.

Not many lines like that in the world. Top level production detail and control. You have to appreciate the exactness.
Bless you my friend...
This is the first time I have witnessed one person take control of just about everything that goes into putting one of these special engines together. Has to be more satisfying than sitting on an assembly line installing a few parts hour after hour as the engine passes by you. As others have indicated, his expressionless demeanor while focused on the task at hand was only broken with an expression of pride when he placed the AMG nameplate and his signature on the aircover cowling. That was priceless. Very interesting video, really enjoyed it.
That's indeed the entire point of this exercise. Having this guy slapping the AMG badge on, rather than doing it yourself with a badge off Ebay😅
Automotive production always gets my juices flowing.

👍👍Respekt , schön zu sehen wie so ein Motor zusammen gebaut wird !! Cooles Video
Nice work sir. You are a credit to the craft and your employer.
Very nice to see his smile while fixing his name's placard. Shoud be very proud to built this awesome engine!
I'm a Chevy guy, but I have an immense amount of respect for Mercedes, BMW, Audi, etc for the amount of craftsmanship and engineering that they put into their vehicles. As a machinist, this was an absolute joy to watch.
"I want to do a cam swap on my Chevy" - ($300). "I want to do a cam swap on my AMG" - ($5000).
I notice the the guys who build these engines don't look anything like the guys who build the Corvette engines! The guys who build the Corvette engines look kinda like the people at Walmart!
I do own a GM car myself. There's not much to compare to in this video ... Different world, and amazing.
@@clinteastwood9115 What exactly are you saying here ? This guy does look like a very ordinary German, and one with a highly satisfying job. In fact, I've bumped into similar looking gentlemen while shopping at Famila markets. Half of the team I'm employing are looking like him... What did you say ? 🧐
look at the smile on his face when he paste sticker of handcrafted by .... Really great video...
no music, no distraction, quality workmanship and dedicated worker, quality goods from germany.
Impressive how quiet the work area is.
@Frank Newberry Depends on the plant and which area within :D chassis production line = can´t hear a word (robots welding or / and setting rivets )
Mercedes,BMW,Audi,Porsche,Volkswagen,Seat,Skoda,Opel,MAN,Setra,Stralis, German Power ,btw Im not german amd i love deutschlan, servus leute.
Yes. Noise would likely be considered a distraction from quality work. This being AMG, all the tools and work steps are likely designed to go as quiet as possible. You can tell if you sit at an airport in the US vs. Japan or Germany. We should all strive to have a quiet place, wherever we work.
Soon as the cameras were off they were chucking food about and having a riot.
that is a lot of technology. also this place is cleaner than most of hospitals.
c'mon, this is just an engine plant, not an Intel chip factory
you guys should visit ferrari factory in the middle of the factory there is a tree

when my mother saw me rebuilding an engine at home she said But Chris you work much cleaner than a doctor. I was trained that way. My hands, parts and tools had to be scrupulously clean.
1 of my dream engine to build, with hearth and passion. And of cause dream car to have. Still love doing this jobs with 11 years experience with Mercedes Engine plant Malaysia and Thailand. My last product i done assembly is S500 V6 twin turbo....really awesome feeling. Loving it
wow amazing technology just mind boggling and well done to that skilled employee- lovely job!
Why is this so soothing to watch?
Because a human is carefully assembling a bunch of discrete parts, useless in themselves, into a fully functioning quality machine that will last for many years, and serve it's owner/s well.
Only petrolheads know the answer.
***** fer sure...
'cause we got nothing better to do
Wait until u drive the machine behind it!
Great job. Young man💯👍🏽

This is a work of art. Great video.
That thing is gorgeous! ....and an absolute MONSTER - look at the finished size of the thing. I love the head stud machine - computer controlled and torque all of them down at the same time - incredible!!
@@richardkey4289 ok, so maybe there is a sequence? But considering you and I are unable to torque more than one bolt at a time, maybe the sequence is for that reason. A computer controlled robot, torquing all at the same time to me would be the preference from an engineering perspective?
This man made my engine!I have his signature on my engine! Pretty excited!
actually, he just assembled your engine :)

Beautiful. No Electric motors here. Mercedes engine building procedure is extremely clean, meticulously organized, and executed to perfection. Magnificent.
This guy really pays attention to what he is doing. Great job period.
Very good concience Technicion, assemblying such a complex engine. Mindful of all that goes into it step by step.

I got a sl55 amg and its super badass. Love AMG and Mercedes.
Great to watch you paying attention to every detail.

At the end of the video you will see him how proud he is by putting his signature on the AMG engine. Good work young man!
What a fulfilling career. Thank you for my joy driving my 2012 CLS63amg V8 twin turbo.
One of the best V8 engines ever made
That look when he finally places the plate saying handcrafted and signed by him.. 😁
A semi skilled detail fitte hardly hand crafted by him.
Thanks for showing the engineering process V8 Engine motors and kind regards.
Must be SO satisfying to put on the badge with your own signature at the end of the process when everything is assembled :-)

Let's not get carried away.
Pride in the job - calm, collected professionalism in action.
Oh dear !! Im really excited !! Love with this ! I wish to work with them !

He is so pround at the end, he's signature is so much important for him.. Goood, wish I work there.
Maybe this gentleman will be the builder of my amg engine whenever I can finally afford an S63.
Great video. This is not really about the making but the assembly of the engine.
bravo majstore, pozdrav iz Imotski to Croatia
It's incredible how young he is and producing such a sophisticated equipment!! This is a very cool video. What a fine craftsman. Look at his face in the end looking all proud.
I am sorry to disappoint you but he is just assembling it. Yea it requires some basic skill, but the torque on those screws is automatically done. The sealant is automatically dispensed. All he has to do it remember which part goes where and not to bang them to damage the mating surfaces.
yeah sure BMW is just waiting to hire you. It is very easy to get hired in this company and do this job. JUst anyone can do it. Easy peasy
That was amazing to me. The complexity of that motor would intimidate even us season mechanics. But he made it look so routine because no doubt he's done it hundreds of times. That to me would be the best job working in a factory building cars.
Absolutely amazing!!!
Perfect Engineering by a perfect Engineer.
What a cool job to have, especially for a great manufacturer. Never realized how big that 6.3 liter was! Would be fun to learn how to put together an engine from the block; wonder how many hours it took him to complete?
3 hours
Hmmm... I can see now how those two camshaft rotate by one pulley. Simple and cost effective production. Another points for me on chosing merc than bavarian :)
High Tec ASMR … beautiful ❤️🍻
This is a natural video, I liked it
I do like how the working environment is stress-free & highly personal. Engines (outside Rolls Royces & Bentleys) are normally made in an assembly line with at least 50+ people constructing 1 motor. In a business sense, it is much cheaper & make logical sense, but alienates workers from their jobs; a disconnection from their creation to their jobs. While machines still do the heavy lifting, the process is much more intimate at AMG. It gives the workers a sense of pride of their finished engine, and the plaque Mercedes-AMG which lets the worker's sign their name to be on display kind of drive the point home. The idea of letting the man behind the assembly sign his own engine may sound gimmicky, but it does have a psychological factor to motivate the workers to strive for excellence. As a final thought, do Rolls, Bentley or BMW M engine workers sign their names on their engines too?
Both rolls royce and bentley engines are made on a production line the claim saying your engine is made by is false its actually made by a multitude of people assemblying it and they pick randomly what persons name will go on it. This video itself is not how engines are assembled this is basically marketing to people who think the human touch is better, but many companies dont even allow cameras in the production area so that shows this was made by mercedes employed and thats why it had the mercedes ending
And add feel compromise and responsability
They are living my one of the dream
Very cool to watch. Didnt know the inake manifold was set up that way. Very cool
very cool. He makes it look easy. And the factory looks too clean.
Guy has AMG branded bionic eyes.
He ain't fooling anyone.

efectivamente @Fanou Works no parece humano sino un madelman
hahaha :D
I was just wainting for the beams of heat ...
When 80 years ago valves were made on a on an assembly line where many people had only one small part to make, there were many failures but when they changed over to one person being responsible for one valve , many people could not shoulder the responsibility but those that did were responisble and there were no failures. I feel it could be the same with building engines, when a numerous people are responsible for small part of the assembly, they do not feel that their small contribution matters that much but if one man assembles the engine and so traceability is possible, not many people like that but a skilled man will accept the responsibility and I would say one gets less failures. Pride of work is not gained through many people working on small parts. But working on a masterpiece , I would say that it is more satisfying for an intelligent man, I am sure that such psychology has been studied deeply. Nice engine, Iwould like to have seen it being tested.
Nice job dude!!!
This guy has a very rare job and a lot of responsibility. Some say, it looks easy, they could do it too and that it is borig etc. First, the assembly of the engine takes a lot longer, than just the 12 minutes of this video. Second, even because its repetitive, it takes a very disciplined mind to do it, because what he is assembling is not a kids toy, but one of the most advanced engines in the world, which costs a fortune, therefor mistakes within the assembling process are out of the question. Third, look at this guys eyes, when he signes the engine. You have to search for a long time, to find someone that proud of his work at the end of the day. Btw, have you noticed how quiet the work environment is? Its a reflection of the concentration of the workers. Wonderful engeneering, great mechanic, awesome end-product. This is how perfection looks like.
Definitely one of the best sounding engines - literally sounds like every stroke is being hit by a sledge hammer! Not sure what those plastic tensioners are doing on the timing chain!
i watched bmw , bentley , prosche and only Mercedes puts oil on the piston rings . Nice Job BENZO
The pistons are already pre-lubed there is no Problem in fitting them „dry“ I would lube them either witch will burn off with in 2 mitutes of running
@@mustafaoguz3368 vkv c xcvl
What a lump. Pride on the face of the person who built it from the ground up. I would smile too. Beautiful engineering. The shape of those pistons !
That is one gorgeous engine.
* Die Arbeit macht Spaß hier Ich wünschte, ich würde hier arbeiten. * Gute Arbeit
Cool vid. I thought the people who built these AMG engines were older employees with decades of motor building experience. This guy looks like he's straight out of college, and barely so at that. But after watching this, it doesn't look too complicated to assemble some components together in a particular order. Having a work environment like that makes ALL the difference. But I wonder how well he could diagnose drive-train problems, though. That's where years of experience comes into play.
beautiful work so much clean
