What gorgeous animals Prairie Dogs are. They're so sweet and affectionate. This is the first time I've ever seen a Prairie dog because I live in Australia and we don't have them here. Do they chew a lot? I'm asking because they have big chompers at the front of their mouths, which remind me of a beaver's front teeth. Thank you for sharing this great story with us. My squirrel was eaten by my cat, and I cant tell you the level of sadness and grief I felt and still feel only not as deep. I am sad every day I think about him, but am more than grateful for the time we did have, and will never take it for granted if given the opportunity to be a squirrel mom again. They are wonderful creatures, all animals deserve love and respect, all of them.

My Dad was stationed in SoDak and I was a teen.We went to the Badlands for a trip and I found a field of prarie dogs and caught one and it bit me, but it wasnt used to people.They live in holes in the ground there and they pop out to look around.So so cute

I wish SOOOOOOO BAD I could have a Prairie Dog as a pet on my state. They are so silly and cute! I first learned about their personalities on a KZhead channel called Urban Rescue Ranch he had a Prairie Dog named Big Ounce who was so incredible! I love these little guys! ❤

It's amazing how nurturing some adult male cats can be. I had one like that, he loved kittens, especially tiny bottle-feeding foster babies. Oh! I just remembered -I posted a 'short' of him, it's titled "Mew, give that baby a bath."

Loki! I've seen Ravens in the wild; they have a huge wingspan! I think most wild animals and birds that end up being human dependant need a lot of stimulation... Perhaps set up mazes for them, or going up and down, or Wheels for the prairie dogs would be a good thing. All the Raven family (that I have seen on KZhead) like puzzles, also. I'm glad you let Loki fly free! It's sad about the kitten not about his face but his legs they breed them like that now and it's really sad to take that ability to jump and run away from an animal that really people are so thoughtless sometimes.😢

RIP Big Ounce
Prarie dogs are cute and adorable but having them as my babies with my cats,dogs,rabbits,birds and fish wouldn't be ideal. That's why I don't have mice,rats and hamsters as babies but since I don't eat animals I want cows,,pigs,goats and maybe sheep as my babies

I knew a woman in Colorado who took in stray, hurt, wild animals, like deer and raccoons. her house was full of them. One of them gave her the plague and she died.
Sweet creatures! I also follow Poppy's channel where her parents educate public about complexities of owning such special critters. The couple just adopted/rescued an older 'sibling' whose leg had to be amputated due to previous owner's neglect. 💔 Please don't adopt unless you have a LOT of time and knowledge!

I have just one question, where the heck do you get actual motorcycle helmets for chihuahuas?
I think most all Mammals I have around tend to be pack animals. I had 2 mousers I got as kittens. They acted just like these guys. Almost sad to make them live in the barn.
"A lot of work" - so can you leave them alone for a few days with food and water and take a trip or vacation?

All across West Texas there's millions of prairie dogs that live out in the wild and there may be a prairie dog town close to you but that is where you should take them cuz I know you will get tired of them my wife raised 3 prairie dogs I wind up taking them to a prairie dog town next to where I was and let them go that was 15/16 years ago
