I beat Moonsoon yesterday at the 1st try in hard mode, i ended up without mekits and 30%hp and that feeling with this music, is something i never felt while playing Dark Souls or Sekiro. PURE HYPE
@Connor Stevens any particular reason?
@Тити Мити I can totally relate, same happened with this dude, I ended realizing I had 5/5 medkits from only god knows when and I had to equip them in order to defeat him, hardest boss in the base game by far
That's what I love about the boss themes in game. They include the lyrics when the boss fight reaches its climax. And it always, *always* has one of the two effects: 1) When you're left with high HP, it makes you hyped for finally killing the boss, after skillfully dodging and parrying their attacks. 2) When you're left with low HP, the track puts you under pressure, getting you more in the zone and determined to get your shit together and beat this boss despite the situation
its a lot easier but its a lot more cinematic
@Connor Stevens Armored Core :)
Have to agree with others here! Good job compiling them, you even put the non-vocal and vocal versions together.

It's like an insane version of a Megaman Level/Boss Select screen. "You beat all of the Cyborg Masters and suddenly there's a cutscene of the real villain, DOKTOR WILY. He reveals to you that his true motives were to get the child brains and use it in his robot army to finally defeat Megaman. Doktor invites you to his castle in Germany." "In the level select screen, the tile that usually has Raiden's face on it turns into a \D\, selecting it takes you to the final level." "You fight Doktor at the end of the castle (of course, right after the obligatory boss-rush segment). His first form is a Wily-esque Metal Gear and in his final form, he becomes an Alien is FUCKING INVINCIBLE, but his weakness is Nanomachines Beam, the weapon you acquire from Senatorman."
Rocco Sato It seems that I'm the only one to think that
Rocco Sato do you need a break from these video games?

Raiden in MGS2 vs MG Ray, i can't... Raiden in MG Rising: More, give me more!
I love how the songs tell you about Raiden's and every boss' purpose on fighting and talks about how mother nature can be so cruel in the wild: Rules of nature - Raiden's song: (I thought it could be for Metal Gear RAY but it doesn't make so much sense, sounds more like an introduction for Raiden) He's determined of following his purpose, justice. He doesn't care about what he wants but instead what he thinks it has to be done, protecting those ones who need to be protected, in the end he discovers he was design for killing and just killing, doesn't matter why, he's now following his real nature as Jack the ripper, kill. *_Just like in mother nature, he can't make the rules, he has to follow them_* I'm My Own Master Now - Blade wolf: Really direct with the lyrics, for the first time he thinks about what he wants to be instead of simply following orders. You get it easily. *_A living being, not just an AI_* A Stranger I Remain - Mistral: Someone who's sick on the head, practically a sociopath who loves to kill and hurt and was never accepted in society. She finally knows what she was made for, being a mercenary, and she enjoys every single minute of it. The war just makes her feel alive and with a purpose. *_A violent animal who was lost but finally found her herd_* Stains of Time - Monsoon: (I think this song too, is talking about Raiden instead of this boss). Being remembered of what a monster he was in the past, trying to cope with the fact that he never changed, he just thought he was in a different path by changing his moral code, but he's just as sick as Monsoon, he's nothing but a killer and to succed he has to accept it. Making him turn into Jack the ripper once again. *_A domestic animal who found himself in the wild again, he has to act by his true nature now_* Red Sun - Sundowner: A sociopath again. Sundowner sees the beauty on war and its consequenses, he enjoys killing and the fear of his prey. He doesn't have a moral code or purpose, he just goes by the pure instinct of survival, the animal who has to kill his own kin in order to eat and really loves to see his enemies fight in order to survive, making them fell into their most primal instincts to have a brutal fight just like a desperate animal. *_The beauty in nature's brutality, running from a predator, searching for corpses to feast, survive_* The Only Thing I Know For Real - Jetstream Sam: (Once again, I think this song talks about Raiden, but could work for Sam too). Sam is a fierceful warrior who goes by "the big fish eats the small fish" code. For him, the strong should rule the world cause they earn that privilege while the weak should surpass the strong to become stronger. In this fight Raiden doesn't understands exactly why Sam is fighting for but he's actually in the path that Sams lives, by killing Sam, Raiden took the place of the strong, he's not weak anymore cause the Raiden who fight Sam for the first time was not the same Raiden who won this battle. He is not fighting for justice anymore, he's fighting to kill, the purpose just doesn't matter anymore, he knows he has to kill Sam in order to reach Armstrong, he has to be the big fish who eats the small one. At this moment, he truly knows who he is, a killing machine. *_The strong will survive, the weak will perish, accepting it will make you strong in the wild_* Collective Consciousness - Metal Gear EXCELSUS/Senator Armstrong: This just speaks "government". Armstrong's goal was to practically "make America great again" by subjugate the whole world, making him a really patriotic psychopath who wants the whole world to be America and think like America, like a collective consciousness. He wants to unify the world by violence with a single flag to make a proud world who can be ruled by capitalism and war, USA the sequel. *_There is strenght in numbers, we only survive by being one_* It Has To Be This Way - Senator Armstrong: (This is both Armstorng and Raiden theme song). They both know exactly what they're doing, they made their own path and they collided. One is the obstacule of the other one and to succeed, one of them has to die. "Violence bread violence, but in the end it has to be this way", for Armstrong perspective, this line is practically "this is the way to go, there's no other way we can make the world better, we have to choose violence to achieve victory", while for Raiden is "I wish I don't have to kill, but this is the only way I can save the world, peace is not an option anymore". *_It doesn't matter how much you avoid violence, is the only way to survive and become stronger_* And for the last one I forgot that fight, I dunno PD: This is only my way to see it, if you have another interpretation I want to read it.
Ohh, I really love this! I always interpreted Collective Consciousness not as what Armstrong wants, but what Raiden thinks he wants before he starts monologing while beating the shit out of Raiden. Ironically enough, it's actually representing what Armstrong stands against in that he wants every American to fight for what _they_ believe in, not what _someone tells them_ to believe in I especially love the interpretation of RAY and in a sense Stains of Time representing Raiden
@@thisisausername9356 Thanks, I replayed the game and actually what you said makes more sense, Armstrong wanted extreme free will, way too much to be a functional society, that would just be anarchy
I don't think you listened to Armstrong's speech.

I'm going to start getting into the MG series soon, as I really want to get into the story and everything, but I want to play MGR the most
Just DO IT
The metal gear rising doesn't affect too much on the story of MG Solid
The best thing about this game that fills me with undescribable emotion is when I've spent over an hour trying to defeat a hard boss, and I get so frustrated, but then finally I get their HP to a point where victory is actually possible, and I start to crack under the pressure..... But then the vocals kick in.... And the game says to me "you got this!" And I know this is it. The boss doesn't stand chance. Such a beautiful moment in my head.
i wish there was an official mix like that - instrumental intro + extended vocal
it's impossible to fully fathom just how much better all of these themes are than the ones in the competition
Love the order and the fact that they are implemented the way you would hear it in game. Sadly, the video is too short :p
god ive listened too the ones with the voice over all of it so much that i can hear the lines even when there not there
Same for me.
When the fires hot and the wind is through the vulture waits to see what rots
I realized why these songs slap so hard. It’s cause they actually rhyme!
Nah, senator armstrongs theme slap but there is nothing the main theme doesn’t rhyme.
Red Sun is what plays in Solaire's side when he comes to Jolly Co-Op with you's part of the screen and he fights a boss. Its his name

Is it just me or the voices in the songs are actually fitting the characters the songs were made for? It's like the bosses themselves sing their theme Maybe there are exceptions like "It Has To Be This Way" where the voice doesn't really sounds like Armstrong's, but i think you get my idea
yeah dont worry its not just you, it sometimes does sound like that, especially for stains of time and red sun
Rules of Nature and It Has To Be This Way are Raiden’s theme songs.
@@Champion_of_Vlaakith rules of nature is purely Raiden, meanwhile it has to be this way is both Armstrong and raiden's themes, alternating between the two's perspectives
