  • dunno about the noise, but yea from everything i hear these obsidian pros are slower and offer more control while being durable when used on glass. dont think thats necesseraly a bad thing some people might want more control from their skypad. good video and explanation btw

  • Hey man, great vid! I have 1 question tho if you don t mind. I use a superglide mousepad from pulsar, I am wondering if these skates are compatible for this mousepad too and if there are no issues whatsoever

    @histxmi9579@histxmi95794 ай бұрын
    • the mouse skates would handle similar on the superglide pad, maybe slightly slower but not by much.

  • I got obsidian pro dots and skypad, too. Mine are also noisy and scratchy sounding and feeling. Went back to obsidian red dots

    • Yea soon after I made that review I swapped the skates over to corepadz

  • Interesting. If they truly have more stopping power and friction, I wonder if they will make glass pads usable for tac shooters.

    @CarriedByCPS@CarriedByCPS5 ай бұрын
    • very true. slower skates on a skypad might be appealing for some people

      @MightyAims@MightyAims5 ай бұрын
    • been using a glass pad for like 3 months bro. They're usable no matter what skates you have. Whoever is feeding you that nonsense, should be discounted as realible in your mind. Glass pads are fine and are amazing for any and all games.

    • @@alexwhiteman2628 its not a glass pad thing in specific, its more that my aim mechanics are really not that good so I need the extra stopping power that cloth gives you atleast until I improve enough.

      @CarriedByCPS@CarriedByCPS5 ай бұрын
    • @@alexwhiteman2628 1, I've been using a glass pad for 4x longer than you have. 2, yes, you can use any skates on a glass pad. It comes down to personal preference, and most people who play tac shooters avoid glass pads due to the pad being too fast at times. Slower skates may be appealing to that group of people who like the surface feel of a glass pad but not it's total speed.

      @MightyAims@MightyAims5 ай бұрын
    • @@MightyAims Exactly, I use a glass pad because theoretically it can last forever and it will always be consistent.

  • I have them on Superglide glass pad, also lots friction. Mine even worst, with a heavy mouse naga. I thought I need time to break them in. Thanks for the confirmation.

    • Yep. Skypad could have told us we were getting slow skates. I was expecting something faster than normal obsidians.

      @MightyAims@MightyAims5 ай бұрын
  • Wasn't the whole thing with these obsidian skates that they give more control on glass and are super durable? I never heard or read about them being faster or whatever. The whole point was that they gave a bit of control and were incredibly durable. P.s. I want to buy them mostly for durability. When my deathadder v3 pro + g502 lightspeed / g502 x skates start to wear. But I expect them to last a very long time since I don't really press on my mouse while using it.

    @3choblast3r4@3choblast3r45 ай бұрын
    • These skates do seem very durable based of my little bit of use, and idk why I thought they were meant to be faster, I might have misunderstood something.

    • @@MightyAims btw you can use them on glass pads, they are normal ptfe like tiger ice for example

      @enronko@enronko5 ай бұрын
    • @@enronko yea I know. They are the fastest skates out there for glass pads but don’t last nearly as long as obsidians.

  • could these maybe work with an artisan zero hard? i really liked the original obsidian skates on it. Edit: im just scared because the website says its for glass pads and i feel like it would ruin my fabric pad.

    @alie5146@alie51465 ай бұрын
    • It wouldn’t ruin the pad, it’s basically identical to the normal obsidians but the ptfe is harder and overall slower. I don’t have an artisan zero so I wouldn’t be able to tell you how it would feel, but it shouldn’t damage the pad in any way.

    • @@MightyAims The Obsidian Pro skates are actually made of UHMWPE (Ultra high molecular weight polyethylene) not PTFE. Uhmwpe has a higher friction coefficient than PTFE (up to twice as much friction) but still less friction than POM or other plastics. The main benefits for UHMWPE compared to PTFE is much better abrasion resistance properties and higher control (due to more friction). They probably should have done a better job of emphasising in their marketing that they are a control skate for glass pads.

      @Xeptance@Xeptance5 ай бұрын
    • @@Xeptance that is very true, I didn’t realize that they weren’t ptfe. Their marketing was very poor.

  • I’ve heard obsidian pros suck on skypad mousepads from what I’ve heard and they are good on padsmith glass pads

    @Arctioa@Arctioa5 ай бұрын
    • For me, the obsidian pros feel even worse on a padsmith glass pad (mine arrived today) due to the padsmith pad being slower than the skypad. There is even more friction on the padsmith pad than the skypad.

      @MightyAims@MightyAims5 ай бұрын
    • @@MightyAims wouldn’t that be good for tact shooters though. I can see it not being ideal if you want no stopping power. I thought these were meant for more stopping power type of vibes

      @Arctioa@Arctioa5 ай бұрын
    • @@Arctioa yes, it would be better for tac shooters, but since I play more tracking heavy games like apex, overwatch and cod, I want every bit of speed I can get so I see the extra control as a bad thing
