This man is a great storyteller, he's the kind of person I could sit down and listen to all the time. And the history behind that 57 needs to live on.
All these videos that Jerry does are gems
I agree with you, i love listening to Old stories from Folks about their Lives
Agreed!
He's one of a kind , you really need to take him for a ride when done.
Id like to sit down and drink a beer that good man, id listen to his stories for DAYS!!!!!
I could listen to this guy's stories all day. Brings a few of my own up from the cobwebs of my old mind. Lol
Listen up, folks. Danny Elliott is a hero. He knows what this stuff is and he's getting rid of it right. If you don't do this, there is a more than even chance it's going to turn into scrap metal. Imagine most of that stuff going to the scale, because no one knew what it was. Turns out I didn't go first, so I have to deal with three life-collections of crap, most of which I know nothing about. For my stuff, I didn't have any kids or grandkids that were interested, so I gave my roller, a '68 Mustang, to my eldest niece for graduation, which she never took out from under the cover, but her sister's husband fell in love with it so now it's cared for. The rest of my stuff I will find a good home for. But what about all of this other stuff? I don't have any context for why this or that might be important. Danny moved his stuff along while he is still around to provide that context. I believe the phrase the military uses is 'get your affairs in order'. Don't leave your family or friends to deal with your affairs. Move your stuff along while you are still around. Thanks, Mr. Elliott.
I know the finish line is there and fast approaching too, best of luck to you
Mr. Elliott is The Boss! Generous. Honest. Cool mate.
There was a time when I pursued classic cars, restored some, had as daily drivers many of them, and I was always bothered by those people who wouldn't sell some old gem yet they left it there to rot. It just makes no sense. If you don't have it in you to get it done sell it to someone who will. It is a part of our automotive history and we should preserve as many of these old cars as we can. Side note, I am 64 and my first car ever was a 57 Chevy Belair with a three speed on the floor. I drove that car like I was demon possessed. So many good memories!
@@bradjohnson8100 I never understood that mindset. I've driven past a few vehicles in my area sitting next to houses for 30 or more years, and I've watched them slowly rust away to nothing.
What a Goldmine !! Car Guys and Girls are marveling over this find. Thanks for sharing.
Danny, I'm sure the boys and their father will carry your history and your stories for generations to come. You were all meant to find each other. A wonderful story.
Anybody that has a car like this deserves several denalies👍😁✌️👌lot of people have dreamed about one of these!!
Oh boy; I hope you folks keep in touch with that man and update him on your progress. A man like that deserves to get the satisfaction out of seeing you boys building what was once his dream. He's just reaching out and giving you everything he could have sold at premium rates.
You need to start with $ 18,250 just for the basic body for a New improved 1957 Chevy convertible from Reel Deal Steel. Needs front parts, fenders, grill, trim and accessories, etc. Still a great deal 👌 Wealth of parts seems highly appropriate here.
A truly blessed gentleman who has now passed a blessing down to another generation. it will be a thing of beauty again.
Heart warming to hear the stories and see the love the man had for these cars and their being restored.
I like the old man's spirit
What a wonderful gentlemen. Good to see People like this. And the car. WOW
One of the best stories I have ever heard!!!
That man is a good man,, he gave everything for 57 and not just the parts for this one ,,but for other 57s
This really hit home! I'm 71 and starting over on a 56 Chevy that I have had for 50 years. It's on the lift in my new shop and I hope I live long enough to drive it again. If not, my Son will get to finish it. He's a car guy too and is building a 68 Camaro. I would love to see this story continue with this 57, even just unloading all that stuff and sorting it out. What fun!! :) :)
Legend has it they still taking parts out till this day
They are in fact!!
@@thewriter2549 Lego Technique Chevy 57 - 9000 pieces - Not recommended for people in a hurry :)
Best Jerry Heasley Video ever! They don't make them like Danny Elliott anymore either that's for sure
What an absolute gentleman I would have been shedding a tear with every part that I took years to collect But he took pleasure to pass them all on Those 2 lads don’t know how lucky they are Fantastic to just watch that👍🇦🇺😃
So many treasures! This was a fun video
That man is a treasure. Great story teller.
I was fascinated with his story buying a '57 Chevy for $75 when he was 15 years old, which would have been 1962. I had to put this story into the video in full at the end.
Yes he is, I watched it three times I couldn't stop
By far one of the best videos to date. What a interesting man.
I’m subscribed because I love your voice. A girl from Australia.
Oh, thanks.
Damn that is a diamond in tha rough, something I would love to own and restore
Great old guy. Thanks for the video.
Wish I knew people personally, like Mr. Elliot!
You're a lucky man... Looks like it went to the right place.
Wow, just wow. That is amazing.🔥❤️🔥
It’s gonna be like a big puzzle for those boys to put together, what fun
What a great display of passion that he has of that car!!!!!! Maybe y’all can get it done where he can sit down in it again!!! Lots of fun telling his story about it to!!!!!!!
This is great 👍🏾 that this gentleman is willing to part with all his inventory. I’m glad to see young people wanting to be apart of the collectible car world. Hands on experience is the best experience!
Well, sadly, most people you meet today are not even interested in restoring a classic 1957 Chevy. It seems people now just want a modern car to drive. Classic car rebuilding takes time, money, & lots of energy. Its nice to see a new owner family who appreciates this great classic car. Might take some time but, when this car is back driving on the road it will be a wonderful event. Wishing many fun filled driving days and nights to come!
Another great story Jerry! I love how you not only cover the cars, but also the people and the story's behind the cars!
Thanks because both make this interesting,
@@thewriter2549 For sure!
Thats what i call a barn find, i was born in 57, would have loved to meet that gret guy Danny Elliot.
Nice to see the youngsters keeping up the tradition of restoring classics
What a cool guy; and an outstanding find too! Great stuff right here!
Love to see it when they're finished.
Danny Elliott, I salute you sir for having the foresight and the willingness to pass all the stuff you had collected over the many years. And for passing the knowledge along to go with it. You are truly a good man and a treasure of info for those young guys that will be picking up that project from you. I think they know how lucky they are for not only getting the project but for getting the knowledge you are passing along as well.
Great story, thanks for taking us along. I thought to myself the man was not only honest but generous. He could have easily sold only the basic shell, frame, fenders ect. and the rest on Ebay or others. I was blown away when he pulled out NOS manifolds, tissue dispenser in the old green GM box. You could have knocked me over when he opened those correct green floor mats. I've been looking for a set for my Impala for years. Good luck to the buyer, been there done that, it will be a memorable jigsaw journey. Cheers.
Dunno if you're still looking, man, but: I've got a pair in amazing condition! They've got your name written all over them.
So……. How much was it??
Yes, some opertunistic sellers only think of tearing down a classic car for their parts value alone. It's nice to see a person who really cares & wants these older cars to remain on driving down the road.
@@guysumpthin2974 You can bet it wasn't cheap!
Great that he passed it forward when he could still pass the history forward. Thanks for documenting it. .
I had the honor to work along side my dad restoring antique and classic cars as well as restomods. Him and this gentleman would have spent yrs talking shop. This gentleman is a plethora of information ...I hope the new owner enjoys the restoration part even though it's a long process and can get expensive..but what they will have in the end will be a joy to have and drive. Sadly I lost dad 3 yrs ago to cancer and did the same thing with over 8 cars ..I kept 1 a 63 - 421 w/ factory 6 pack ( 3 - 2 barrel carbs) convertible and a rare factory A/C. my 4 boys and 1 girl are already battling to who gets it when I go... I haven't told them that their grandfather told me who he wanted to see it go to
Man that’s beyond an epic find, that’s a once in a lifetime find. You was definitely blessed to find that.
Once in a lifetime? Very few people ever find something like that in their lives so I’d say it’s more like a once in 50 lifetimes find…. and that’s if all 50 of those people are searching for such a find all day every day for decades.
Amazing find. Love the 57 chevys.
Our love of the automobile and history of the way we lived is truly amazing. And outsiders say that we have no culture and yet they come here with nothing but the clothes on their backs. We have a history of a people who became a culture that everyone wants to be a part of. Even our music is growing in the hearts of every youth in the world .
Awesome video and story , my dad had a 57 Chevy convertible fuel injected that he bought in 58 was still new I’ve got pictures of it in my driveway because I live in a family home I bought off my grandmother in like 1962 when I was a baby wish I still had the car
Danny has so much knowledge and passion about that 57 Chevy. Such a interesting guy.
One of the most enjoyable stories and man I've heard! Thank you for the video! Godspeed from the Yakima Valley in Washington State.
People like him are the people that preserve history
Danny's shops & garage were.a treasure chest of vintage car parts!
This is great camera My eyes are amazed
This gentleman is a person to listen to…The sons are listening and getting a “ field “ learning class on cars….
Can't wait for the next video anticipating on how it looks thank you for sharing your treasure you have found
Man what a great find and couldn't have found a better or more knowledgeable gentleman to buy it from he was so glad to let it go to some young men who are genuinely interested and excited to own it and restore it!! I definitely would love to see some updates on this project!!
You better take that old gentleman with You all. I bet He could put it together in his sleep 💤 Awesome project.
Thanks for another wonderful story Jerry, I always enjoy the content you post!
Wow, one of the most amazing finds I've seen to date! Are we going to see this car being rebuilt? Between dad, the youngins, and a little help, this restoration could, and should be recorded for the posterity of all involved, and of course, for the enjoyment of we KZhead car addicts.😁👍✌
I'm with you, would love to see it myself.
Copy that
Roger that 👍
@@tresfingeros I fourth that.
Gosh, he sure knows this car inside and out! What a beautiful story for sure!
What a great story. Behind this 57
That man is beyond being just a mere treasure. In treasure form it would require combining everything ever found in The Valley Of The Kings in Egypt to be his equal because he not only is willing to part with a rare find of a car, but also not only has pretty much every part and every option that it could have been ordered with including extremely rare ones but he has duplicates of so many parts that more cars could be rebuilt from the spare parts, and he has and shares the knowledge about each individual part ranging from how rare each is, where he got it, when he got it, how much he paid for it and what it’s current actual value is for each and every piece. Then his knowledge of and stories about the cars actual history and his desire to share it and his wanting the car to go to a good home to be completed and having a smile on his face and a happiness in his voice while doing this even as he not only watches such a big part of his life being loaded up but even helping to load it up and saying what parts need to be put in the truck to be better protected. You don’t find people like him very often and most people would either let it sit there until they die or would have sold it all in 30 different directions years ago.
ONE OF THE BEST ORIGINAL CAR VIDEOS I HAVE EVER WATCHED! Totally touched by this man's story and touching that your family will carry this dream into the future's
Wow that's a great barn find 👏 and story. This man reminds me of my old neighbor RIP 🙏 he was a walking. AUTOMOTIVE ENCYCLOPEDIA .ENJOY THAT 57 CONVERTIBLE.
When the car is done, go back and let him drive it ❤ what a great man!
Man that’s the stuff a lot of us dream about, love the old trucks too.
Man that's one sweet hotrod build next 👍 👍
Thanks for sharing, that's quite the experience.
This looks like fun Project. that old man was proud to pass on his dream, can't wait to see you Boys put it back together.
I noticed in the lounge of the house the picture of the Last Supper,I have exactly the same here in Australia ,mine is not colored, but is a cast aluminium that was nice to see.
Unbelievable. No telling how much that’s worth with all of the factory extras. You’ll never find another like that. 👊😎👍🇺🇸
Never, not never......
@Utube Fknsucks t⁶
They are out there. My father passed away this year and left us his two 1957 Chevys. Ones a mostly original Bel Air Convertable and the other a Sedan. Both run and garage kept for years.
Love it when you find something so well kept!
In a million pieces? Didn't watch past the intro and "representative photos", did you?
@@deeremeyer1749 Actually,, I watch the video in it’s entirety. It seems like this actually was well-kept compared to other older vehicles which have been sitting out in the weather or already parted and then sitting in the weather. I guess one’s opinion is relative and all a matter of perspective.
Great video. Pop had all the parts stashed away safe and knew where they all were. Good luck with the rebuild!
I didn't think I was going to watch the video to the end, but now I'm glad I did. Mr. Elliot is one of a kind. They don't make 'em like that that anymore. I have nothing that even comes close to what he just sold and I can only imagine the joy mixed with sadness to get rid of his beloved Chevy.
The tissue Despenser sold me.
Danny Elliott. What a guy ! He actually seemed happy to pass on his love of cars. What a guy, what a story.
That was one wild '57 and with it's continental Kit and Green top !
Amazing, heartwarming and imho we, society needs more of this! Those boys, hope they work hard with their dad, complete the car…ride back up and take than man for a ride 😃 Hope there are updates of the restoration…I am sure there are enough of us on here that would love to follow along.
Great moments of a great day for everybody... none of them will forget it ! Thanks to them for sharing, and thanks for the great production Jerry 👍
Loved this, I could listen to him for days
What a great find,...cant wait for the reassembly series....you have half the work done,...just need to put the puzzle together....
I just love story like that those are the good ones
There is an amazing story and amazing man... And the amazing car ,1957 Chevy convertible.. Wow good luck guys, GET HER DONE ✔️ 👍
These episodes are so nice. Amazing watch.
Can't wait to see this car back in action. Best car story yet and find.
Man I absolutely loved this video..... God bless this man for what he has saved from the crusher
It's amazing how he has every part Parts that you could never find awesome awesome real cool video thanks
Great story. God Bless Him
Wow, what a great find, lucky guy! Not to mention all the nice spare parts in your deal. Loved the seller, great story teller, could listen to him some more, lol. He definitely knew his 57 Chevys.
It's great that a dad and his 2 sons got all that I've got a few old cars can't get my kid away from dam video games
Cars can be so much to people, this was a part of his life, respect for him letting it go to a hood home !
That's a damn good pile o parts
Hi Dan, How would you like to find a score like this? Probably very expensive though. Way out of my price range, that's for sure. But what an awesome score nonetheless
Valhalla moment...
These videos and stories are as epic as the cars. What a great way to preserve history.
I don’t know what they paid for the stuff but whatever it was it was a steal! This stuff is almost priceless! What a nice old gentleman and a wealth of information.
I know how you feel. Just sold my truck which was a 20 year project. Stung a little but I'm over it now. Gives ya time to do other projects. That was a great find. Kudos to you for being it's care taker all these years
When you guys run the original oil bath air cleaners make sure you use dexron transmission fluid you can overfill it just to hair helps lubricate the valves and it will filter out three times more dirt.
This guy is a gem. Much respect !!!
Bittersweet story, the end of long era with restoring old cars to the restoration of a great American beauty! I hope he gets to drive it when it’s done
Yeah. It probably never made him rich but it sure made him happy, which is better than rich. I love people with his fire, it doesn't even matter what it is. They will always enrich your life and open doors you might never have done yourself.
Beautiful car, rare car, tons of original rare unobtainium parts.
What an awesome find! An exciting project for them to bring back for sure! I go to Charlotte Autofair every year, it’s definitely a great time. Thanks for sharing Jerry 😃
What an incredible American. God bless him and America 🇺🇸talk about knowing your stuff ! Wow !
Oh wow, all that treasure stored up, and now it's time for it to go and be put back together into driveable machines once again. What a guy, he must be feeling very sad now it's all gone. I hope they can get it up and running in time so he can see it making someone's dream come true. I just love these finds put into film.
I COULD HEAR THE OLDER GENTLEMEN TALK ALL DAY AND BE LOVING EVERY MOMENT OF IT.
Oh man, I wish everybody could have been there, so I tried my best to video a lot.
Pass it all down to the young people ! Well done old man !
