Back in the 1970s there was a jackpot winner for Lotto Canada who worked in lumber, the lottery followed up on him 30 years later. He bought a lot, put concrete pads for mobile homes on it and rented them to his work buddies, every Friday they would barbecue and have a couple of cases of beer on him, this was still happening 30 years after he won 1 million Canadian. He never stopped working and never splurged after buying the piece of land. Have to say, he didn't mess up in his decisions, not when 1 mill lasts over 30 ears.
It’s so nice to see people who have benefited from winning the lottery.
People act like winning the lottery is cursed and oh so hard. Poor them. No...just don't be a dumbass.
It's nice to see winners who were not irresponsible nitwits.
In Australia the winners are promised anonymity. Also, there is no tax on the winnings.
No tax on winnings in Canada either
Only for the first financial year afterwards. You have to pay tax on the winnings and any interest accrued after that.
Same in New Zealand
@Dawn King Can everyone write off the cost of the tickets and other gambling? Or does the government suck and blow at the same time?
The winnings in Australia should be increased. A million dollars is great but 50 years ago it was a million and it could go further back then.
My brother in law (who's been a cheap bastard all his life) won the lottery 30 years ago. He doesn't live a flamboyant lifestyle. He learned not to after he bought a Mercedes when he first won and people took notice. He later sold it and has invested his money wisely. He's bought a small boat, a camper and has traveled a lot with my sister.
🤣🤣🤣
wile my frend didn't win a lottery hes was self made millions. he drove a 1998 dodge truck and lived in his original farm house. you would never know he had money.
@@gogereaver349 my partners bestfriend and roommates a family heir of Safeway somehow, his grandpa or something. He is the cheapest bastard we know. He wont even buy new knives but he often goes to fundraiser dinners where its $5k a plate
Update: Neil Wanless actually successfully sold his ranch for the asking price of $37 million. It was the largest ranch sale in the state ever. And he also more than quadrupled his original investment in the property....😄😄😄
who bought it? Gates? he's been buying up land like crazy since 2018
He found him som hot legs and said forget all that farmin and ranchin .. this is bullshart!! .. im headed to Canada for them cans lol
He is now digging and plowing his gf.
Well, with all due respect, he BUILT the ranch from nothing, so he had a LOT MORE MONEY IN IT than the "original investment." How much more, we will never know. That said, nevertheless, real estate is USUALLY a very smart investment.
I'd bet Bill gates bought it ;) 99%
Wins 225 million, is left with 75 million after taxes? That is insane.
That definitely sounds like a rip off
@@kaydencefreeman6043 It is. The government took more than half of their winnings! That is ridiculous.
@@lottonthewizard4352 that is the great thing about the uk and euro lotteries . they are tax free .
@@8ballphil150 Which is great, what's the point of winning the lottery if most of it's going to get taxed?
@lottonthewizard4352 how is it a rip off? That's $75 million. You're set for life 20 times over. No one should have all their lottery winnings at that level
As soon as you said he split his money with his fiance I shook my head before I even heard the split up
sameeee lmao
Same
🤯🤪💯
Same
He's not the only winner who split money to his girlfriend.
Big key...they all kept doing what they loved and pursuing their passions inspite of their new wealth !!!
So did those who blew it all. Time is what changes people.
All of these winners have something in common. They are educated and mature with their plans. People that lose everything quickly are usually idiots who want to impress everyone.
Two of them were young, but they were smart and put the money to their education.
Absolutely!
😂😂
You win 220mil and after taxes you get 74mil thats mad……
Straight up robbery when you consider that the winners are paying taxes on everything else in life and paying money over and over just to play the lottery in the first place. The tax should be only a nominal amount, if that.
It depends on where you live ... Each state is different
I would just go for the annuity even though it takes 30 years to get the entire thing you get millions every year
Not in Canada, we don't get taxed on lottery winnings
@@kricekr1 depends on how long you have to live
Can you do a story on Raymond Robert Sr?? He won a $25k for life lottery prize 6 times at once😱 he said his intuition told him to buy 7lucky for life tickets with same number. He won 6 of them🎉 Luck🍀 was truly on his side✨
@BlackGoddes 1 2 Sounds like a good story. Wats the Link , or weres article
Why did he only buy 6 if his intuition told him to buy 7? Or if he did buy 7, then he would have won all 7 unless he did different numbers for the 7th OR was it just a typo when you said 7, lmao
@@sophritoh he bought 7 tickets! And won 6 out of the 7!
@@blackgoddes1286 How is it possible.? Buy 7 tickets with the same numbers and won 6 of them? He had to win 7? 🤔
@@youtubevideo7086 how about you ask him that🙃
7:00 imagine she chose the brother's numbers and they would've pulled the ones, she played all the time. The ultimate sibblings trolling😂
It’s crazy that people are taxed on lottery considering you won a prize, empathise “Prize”. You honestly should receive every penny because you “Won”
That’s the states for you.
But billionaires can gifted themselves money as prizes to avoid taxes. 😂😂😂😂😂 America is one greedy country.
In America, you get taxed for everything. Especially if its prized money.
You either pay the tax when buying the ticket or it comes out of the final amount .
Love seeing positive stories! 🙌💖🙏🏼
That's the difference between who wins and who doesn't. They TRULLY believe they are the lucky one that's going to win it. Dont even put it out there your not lucky
I'm glad some of these people help other people out too! they deserve it
Congratulations to all lottery winners 👏👏👏😍❤️
Congratulations to all these winners. I also mean that in the sense that they were winners before winning the lottery, that just enhanced their awesomeness.
Exactly!
Yes. People have addictions and gambling of the Lottery all the time is just that.
Happy for all the Lottery winners. Mike from Japan
Yes, from what I’ve seen, folks who don’t handle money well when they don’t have that much of it, don’t seem to magically suddenly begin to handle money well when they get some. Kudos to these folks 👍🏻
Lol. True
What an original thought lol
I beg to differ, some learnt from their mistakes, went broke, and start appreciating new opportunities, peace
that is so true, and sadly it's usually those that already have money know how to handle it, especially those that earned it themselves. GL
"Some sources say it's closed now, but others say it's still open." Surely they could have checked this before making a video about it? 😂😂

When I win I am going to set up an office where I can research and receive all of the bills I could never pay and start sending the payment to each entity. I will make some investments so that I can have income as I age and not have to rely solely on Social Security. I will get some rest and visit family and friends I could never visit in the past (because I was working extra jobs or attending trainings for my millionaire former bosses) I will tip all my servers, tithe to my church and other churches that helped me when I was homeless, and donate to the adult literacy program near me. I have thought about it so many times and even looked up specific addresses and how to manage it all and who to contact to be on my team. Now it is just a matter of the numbers finding me on the right ticket on the right day...
Waking up every day is more then winning any lottery think about it
No thats getting born.
Yep, no point of winning if you are not alive to spend it.
Tell that to people living in the streets or going days without eating
These stories are awesome!!!
All I want is a log cabin home with 50-100 acres of untouched land with a river or maybe a large creek going threw it. And I'd live there in peace and enjoy the wild.
Exactly 100% what I would do. Go back to the Ozarks, and buy some land and a cabin and live there with my dog. I'd adopt and name the dog "Lucky". And a jeep, 'cause the road to the property would be long and rough.
You can do it without buying a huge land. You can move to the nature. Be brave!

I cant when I have a 4 year old and I'm a single dad with a crazy baby mom who has 5% cusdody. But would absolutely try and take cusdody if I moved to the woods like that. Unfortunately.

If I won the lottery I'd purchase 3 apartment complexs with 20 or less units. Pay off my house purchase 2 more single family homes to use as rental properties and then let the rest sit in the stock market for the next 20 years
Also maybe purchase some food franchises
52 weeks in a year, so how does a thousand dollars a week come out to 48,000 a year ?
Yeah American maths at work

The crazy thing is that most of these people have kids and are living paycheck to paycheck and are struggling to pay their bills yet they are out buying lottery tickets. Glad there are some lottery winners that know how to manage their winning though.
Imagine winning the lottery and then having to give half of it to a woman that kind of hates you and only used you for money to begin with.
yeah i had a wife like that .. lucky for me i never won the lottery
I seriously wonder if the Golddigger Ex Wife has any of that $$$$$$ today… Now She is a moving target for a schemer

I bet they were among the happiest of all lottery winners. I have never ever bought a lottery ticket, but I know if I had bought one and won big, I think the happiest thing you could do is to give most of it away, keep enough so that you’re secure, but more than that really isn’t necessary. I'll definitely invest my lottery winning in multiple streams of investments such as: ETFs, currencies, treasuries, bonds and my sports apparels business.
Money changes some people when the get it. But money always changes people around you. I never stopped doing what I loved or who I was when I came into a good investment. My only advice, keep your financial profits secret from family and friends. They change the minute they know you have money.
Notice in the UK , you get to KEEP ALL that you win ,the Govt doesn’t get to take over half of it !!
These are the rare of the rare, but the sad part is how most of these stories start... They had no money, was barely able to keep on top of bills, couldn't even afford a full tank of gas, so they bought a lottery ticket. how many millions of people have the same origin story, but an ending of "and then they lost their house"

The boy who used the money to become an electrical engineer and the girl who used the money to become a lawyer are definitely big winners. Education is lifelong investment. I am an electrical engineer myself, and I know how hard the curriculums are, and a month before I graduated from the program, I have already received 3 handsome offerings from three big companies. Back then I didn't have money, and I had to work 2 jobs on the side to pay for my tuition fees. It took me 6 years to complete the program, while it took only 4 years for most students who didn't have to work and study simultaneously.

The tax is paid when you buy the ticket.
I have been inspired to buy a lottery ticket today.
I pray that I too would win the lottery.. my family needs it so much 🙏🙏
Great stories.
So excited for more to come on your amazing project ❤❤my super love couple. I want to there very soon.
tbh if I won the lottery, even a small amount, 1) pay off debt, 2) invest 50% of the remaining, 3) purchase a small house, 4) fund my education if there's anything left. I put education last because by doing those other things guarantees that I'm debt free and have a place to live while I'm in school
I told my mother the 5 numbers plus the 2 star numbers for euromillions draw on Nov 23, 2012. I told her this on Nov 20, 2012. She had 3 days to play. 55 million euros. Bc it came from me, she ignored. It was more important to devalue me than to help the whole family!!! Noone won! The family still needs help! She could have taken credit for it all. The important thing for me in all this, would have been to help out everyone. I live abroad. She was in Europe. 😢

I use to say that I would always take annuity instead of one time payment. If it was a large amount, mostly because I realize I don’t have the knowledge. That you would need to handle that kind of money. Now that I’m in my late 50’s I honestly don’t know how I would handle it. I do believe if you’re not already rich, you need to educate yourself about money

“You can actually use your lottery win to your advantage” Nooo way 🤯
Yes, you can. Use your winnings to invest in income producing property. Or buy a McDonald's (or other successful fast food franchise). No, don't work it. Hire a manager, 2 assistant managers, etc. to run it for you.
I rarely play the loterry. I remember a decade ago I was confident in my ability with math. So I used math to choose my numbers based on probability.
