My only gripe is with the fast forward approach, landing and taxi which I know is for the sake of brevity but I always feel cheated out of what I feel is the highlight of any flight. Keep up the good work and I'll keep watching even if at high speed in some parts! :-)

  • Cool video. Watching videos learning about light jets and different manufacturer pluses and minuses. I'm the son of a Naval pilot, commercial pilot, and private pilot. My dad flew C-130s in Antarctica with snow skids and jato jets. Flew P-3 Orion sub hunters. Retired 37 years at United as a B777 captain and line check airman. Owns a C172 we've flown from Chicago to Austin and Daytona Beach. I guess some kids have fond memories of camping with their dad. Mine was being on a United flight and the Captain, my dad, reminding my little brother to sit in his seat over the intercom. Or sitting in a C-130 in a military hangar and having my dad turn the electrical on so the radar screen comes to life for a little kid. And always going to Osh Kosh. But love Chicago A&W show the best. My younger brother also later became an F-15E WISO so got to sit in the cockpit and hang out with fighter pilots a few times and met a general and checked out the Blue Angels hangar at Pensacola, NAS.

  • Hey Rich, nice work, quiet an impressive Video! The Phenom 300 is just an awesome modern good looking powerful plane - I loved to fly her when I was in a different company. But I am wondering about the climb procedures/technic. Normally I am used to reduce the climb rate when you’re approaching your preset Alt/FL to avoid a possible TCAS event, but in the Video he used to climb from FL150 to FL160 with FLC with a Rate of 2500ft/min instead of VS 1000, any reason or do you have just a different way to deal with in the States? Anyway nicely done and keep doing your great work! :)

  • One option that would definately great in single pilot environment (any and including the Phenom) is AUTOTHROTTLES. The G3000 suite has AUTOTHROTTLE on the DAHER TBM940 and it therefore has provisions for A/T implementation. It would be such a great advantage to have A/T in this plane.

    • @@FlyingwithRich I believe they are made available to HAWKER 800-900XP series that are equipped with the COLLINS PROLINE 21 cockpit. Great platform as well. Longer range than the Phenom, but only goes to FL410 and I believe lower in cruise Mach. Especially comparing to the PHENOM 300E 2020 model with the -E1 version of the Pratt Engines. I have a talk with the product manager of EMBRAER on wednesday as I made several proposals for further upgrades, amongst them AUTOTHROTTLES, AUTOBRAKE and a speedbrake lever with detents, INBOARD Ground Spoilers AND 3.550lbs thrust FJ-44-4AP engines instead of Pratts.

    @LaborchefDrKlenk-gb8rv@LaborchefDrKlenk-gb8rv4 жыл бұрын
    • Early 100s had brake issues for sure - I think they worked the problems out on the 100s. I was aware of limited issues on the 300s but our experience has been great. It’s a true brake-by-wire system so takes some getting used to.

    • Take the 2 pilots out really changes the game - although getting very tough to get single pilot insurance on the Phenom any more. I would say the XLS+ would be a pretty hard airplane to beat for the money. Range better and larger cabin. Ramp appeal goes to the Phenom in my opinion!

Common severe supercells can anvil out beyond 45, 000’ and routinely incorporate incredibly destructive wind forces and large hail :-( but am not telling you pilots anything you aren’t aware of from the beginning of training.

Sometimes there is no chance to get to the tops, because the closer you fly to the Equator and especially in the ITCZ, CBs easily reach up to 60.000+ feet.
