Will the Jeddah Tower be completed this time?🤔
if they can surpass political issues
most likely no
I don't think so but after 2035 sure
Don't care. Not like I am going to vist there anytime soon, if ever. Great video! Love the channel.
i hope so!!
I worked in Jeddah for 10 months. It's going to take more than a 1 km tall tower to make it a pleasant city in which to live.
What are the biggest drawbacks?
@@tealsquare It's an ugly pile of buildings, with a climate that makes being outside rather unpleasant for about half of the year. Having fun there means going to some inside place to spend money. Ah, and it's pretty much impossible to move around without a car (or taxis). Not only because of the weather or lack of public transportation. There are simply no boardwalks, and where there are, they often end randomly at some point. The upsides: Saudis are by and large friendly people, and if you have money, you can get pretty much anything you want. Apart from booze, although that's not really a big deal after a few weeks of being there.
@@Volkbrecht Wow, thanks a lot dude! That's the truth behind this lavish cities. The pictures look amazing, but they are always taken from above and from certain places. 😎👍
@@tealsquareonly drawbacks is the public transportation system which they're working on Jeddah Metro is a huge project which they will implement because world cup 2034 Jeddah is very behind Riyadh the capital city but it will catch up i have been living here for 20 years can I don't have a problem with weather or buildings🤷🏻♂️
I hope that thus time will be complete

As an American I find it very cool they are building these. I love mega projects like this just as bragging rights. We dont do it because it makes sense or it's needed we do it because we can. That mentality has pushed humanity in so many ways. It's when humanity gets complacent thats when stupidity happens. Id much rather see a nation trying to build bigger then fighting against each other.
I always become quite irritated when I hear people complain that California high-speed rail could eventually reach the price tag of 200 billion dollars when the US wasted over 4 trillion dollars in regime change and warfare in Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya, as well as attempted regime change in Syria, with nothing to show for it other than suffering, misery and death.
As an englishman, I agree with you're comment
I mean, if you like symbolic achievements that are used to distract from all the human-rights abuses and "jihadist" funding, I guess that can be your thing. But putting that aside, most of humanity's awesome achievements (i.e. Great Wall of China, the Coliseum, Panama Canal, NASA's Apollo program, etc., etc.) were created to solve a problem, regardless of its practical application to said problem or whether it even succeeded. So tell me, what problem does the Jeddah Tower solve?
Another reason why we don’t is kinda like out of respect cause we don’t wanna build taller than the wtc1 in nyc. Thats why nobody I nyc builds taller than it.
@@Isaac-cl8ioI’d rather see a taller building than war. For example back when Russia and the US were competing to get to the moon. Russia made it to space first and orbited the moon first and the us made it on the moon first. To me this is so much better for humanity as a whole. It’s a friendly competition thing and advances technology and public spending. I’d also love to see a government so broke from building massive buildings and advances in technology to make it to space that they can’t spend anymore on war and expansionism. I know, bring it back to reality. Just saying that’s what I’d prefer. I think most people on the planet are sick and tired of governments waging war with people that the public has no problem with.
Your videos are really very well made. Keep up the quality.
Great video keep up the hard work
When the Prophet Muhammed (ﷺ) was asked about the signs of the Final Hour, one of the signs he mentioned was "when you see the barefoot, naked, destitute shepherds competing in constructing tall buildings.”. When asked to elaborate further, the Prophet Muhammed (ﷺ) said that they are from the Arabs. Subhanallah✨
Brilliant point, I see this as a Noah's Ark for the rich as World War III breaks out, they run for cover here!!!! But I think diplomats from every creed will be accepted, Palestinians, Israelis, Ukrainians, Russians....And of course the western countries....Hell I bet North Korea and Venezuela are welcome if they're high enough up the food chain!
You are talking about a guy that married a 9 year old girl
When it's done, we will still be waiting for GTA6...
The "Bin Laden" group getting a contract for the world's tallest skyscraper is irony at its finest.
It's a huge rich family that basically built Saudi arabia. Osama turned against their own morals and the family thought he was a lunatic and exiled him. Osama as a whole was kicked out of the country.
" built Saudi Arabia" that's a huge statement, the only thing I can think of that has been done by the bin Laden group is the miss handling of the expansion of the holy mosque project in the prophet city, other than that none. @@maadsultan762
11:05. That tall concept design is taller than Mt Everest. If Japan ever starts construction on that, I would be amazed.
Except it would make no sense at all, be impossible to (re)finance etc. You can build a bunch of hypermodern super-cities for that money.
What was it called?
Got a point, also we currently don't even have the tech to build something like that. We would probably also have to use drones to help with the construction, because the high elevation.
Would be clearly stupid from the Japanese to start this program 30 years after the original plan (so when economical and demographic situation was way better)
@@empereurdugrandaveyron6477 Also obviously that would just result in Dubai building a bigger one which will bankrupt even them.
Jeddah is the closest city to Mecca. While it is not allowed to build an airport in Mecca there is one in Jeddah, Jeddah is also in the Red Sea cost. Every year, Jeddah receives millions of pilgrimages who want to go to mecca . Jeddah will play an important role in the Saudi arabia plan for targeting 30 million pilgrimages annually

So they choose the BinLaden group to build it?? - I thought they were in the demolision business ?!?!
Very nice video!
I find it unbelievable that there are that many people who want to live in any of these over bearing buildings in the middle of sand. Living 100% of the time indoors because of the heat.
A top luxury of a video for sure
Ohh I’m early, great vid!
In my fictional world, all this project already finished and successful
The total height is 1006.4 metres taken from the last set of drawings I viewed.
I wonder: with a possible height of a mile, will there be worker base camp at some point to save on traveling times?
A question no other humans have had to ask. Wow, what a time to be alive!
The Binladin group now constructing towers… I guess that’s an improvement
That’s is funny. Sorry 😅
been living in KSA for 4 years. as much as i wanted the building to finish. i don’t see any wisdom of why the government in most of ME likes to build, the highest, the biggest of anything without considering sustainability.
J'imagine que si il l'augmente , une grande partie du sommet sera du vide. La hauteur de Vanité
To engineer the entire structure to resist swaying and other movements at this height will take hundreds, maybe thousands of hours of computer simulations, and mind boggling mathematical calculations to get this right…also to account for earthquakes in this region.

Isn’t is possible to triangulate the high by looking at the already build part and the angle of the outer walls?
The peak height is usually the spire which isn't part of the main concrete structure, which I probably makes it hard to guess the final height
@@nisx91 but in the moddel the spire follows the angle of the rest of the structure. it's not separated like in may other people. it just extends the triangle from below.
It's interesting how they build such tall buildings when they have miles upon miles of empty desert
Its called vanity.
You do know the desert is unlivable right? The only livable parts is next to the ocean, which is were the building is… Yea “let’s just build in the desert” makes zero sense in contexts.
@@AL-lh2htyou do realize you could fit more people in the same footprint using 6 story tall buildings than this mega skyscraper? And it'd be much cheaper
@@AL-lh2ht Either you're a butthurt Saudi or you're just ignorant! In terms of constructional engineering this monstrosity, every meter above a certain height requires an insane amount of additional foundation requirements, insane stress due to wind loads (ask yourself why Shanghai Tower was built the way it is!) on top of all the wear and tear on the materials! will the Jeddah tower have a sewerage system? cuz the Burj Khalifa doesn't
Will I ever see how they build the biggest oasis in the dessert or something similar? 🤔
Jeddah tower is not being build by the government, it’s being build by Al-Mamlakah company who is owned by Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal
And sudi is also bulding the fastest roller coaster in the world but rn uae has it Abu Dhabi
There would have been some irony in Saudi Binladin Group building the tallest building in the world
the Foot print of the tower determines what goes up, laws of physics apply even in deserts The base of the Jeddah tower is way to narrow for a 1 mile deal wind is the enemy of all tall structures.
That section of the Earth has so much money
I think it is important to factor in the sustainability of projects such as this one. Just because it's a race to build the biggest structure doesn't mean we should be harming our planet in the process. Our future should be mainly focused on things like net zero and still being able to achieve incredible architecture like some of these mega projects but instead using renewable resources even if it's more costly. Great video btw I am always excited to see what you've got next to show us.
Stop bein pretentious. When other countries (the west) were building their infrastructure, nobody talked about sustainability. Now, when other countries want to catch up, it's bad and not sustainable.
