  • I had a great time fishing for Wels. I typically fish the US for blues and flatheads though. The wels put up a huge fight but do tire rather quickly and become a dead weight. It’s like dragging in a huge log. They fight very different compared to the US versions. I’m excited to be chasing the Mekong next year! Hoping for some great stories and videos. Thanks for showcasing your beautiful catch friend. Best wishes from the USA! PS... if you ever want to come try your hand at joining the 100+ blue cat club in the US... hit me up! Cheers

    • Is there any specific reason they get so big over there and not over here in Canada and mainly in the USA ? Cause damn that is f’ing huge

    • That would be cool in like a few lakes, but some idiot would end up letting them lose in a river or somewhere else and if they adapted well, which they probably would since catfish are so frickn tough haha then they would destroy the shit out of ecosystems eating everything. That'd probably be bad news if we had em in America 😬

I grabbed the line (braided) so it wouldn't take anymore or the pole, felt it was pretty close to surface so I pulled it up. Not as big as these cats though, definitely made for a good meal
