      @IllusionSector@IllusionSector6 ай бұрын
    • Information about the coatings or materials can be easily optained through materialanalyses for most products. Processtechnology is a well hidden secret for most factorys, and that's for a good reason, since often times the problem is not "what" to produce, but "how", process wise. So If you are familiar with processes of this kind you get quiet alot of information.

    • The new mounting systems changed the whole game, because lenses can now be mounted closer to the sensor, which means more sharpness and less corrections needed for the issues that arise from mounting the lens further from the sensor. So while lenses can be tack sharp even with the old mounting system, the fact is that the new mounting system is miles better for lens quality. This also means they don't have to craft lenses as high of quality as previously. So technically older lenses are crafted better, but they perform worse because of all the issues that arise from the mounting distance.

  • I especially liked the final QC check, where each lens is mounted on a camera and tested for focus sharpness, vignetting, and chromatic abberations before being boxed and shipped. The feel of a high quality camera body and lens in your hand is part of the joy of photography, just as much as seeing the finished image emerge from post-processing.

I was watching and realized the assembly is of the exact same lens I ordered last week & that I am getting in the mail tomorrow! Now I know for sure it was made with extra care and attention to detail. 🤩 I will appreciate it more than ever. Thank you for the video.

I was always amazed to hear about how many lenses were being manufactured in the 60's, and how it was possible back then without this kind of tech.I hope one of the companies like Pentax has some film from back then too. This got better and better. The R&D going into the tools before you even get to the lenses must be another film or two or three. Another world. Sigma looking GOOD.
