    • I think it's because Matt and Tommy are perceived as 'fans' rather than 'media.' These guys are getting the same dozen questions 10 times a day and everyone's trying to trick them into giving them that week's soundbite. P1 isn't out to do that, and I'm sure they can tell and get more comfortable.

  • Carlos is the only driver I’ve heard mentioning that fans pay hard earned money to come to the races. I appreciate that he realizes it and really puts an effort to offer them a good experience, great guy!

    • if you care to go back in time for a little bit, i would highly recommend watching the McLaren Unboxed youtube series with him and Lando, from 2019-2020. it showcases both their personalities so well, and is just so well made too. miles ahead of DTS

  • Carlos seriously needs to be given the credit he deserves for his achievements. Super Consistent and strong finishes, reliable, incredibly smart racing driver, strong awareness on track and intuitive strategist with the sometimes limited insights you get while in the cockpit driving the car. Just a great human and a great figure to have in the sport we love so much. Excited to watch him race for many years to come! Thanks P1 for this awesome interview!     • @@Me-0063because most Ferrari fans aren’t really Ferrari fans, they are Leclerc fans, since he won in Monza and got more points than Vettel, they have been overrating him and underrating every driver around Charles, making excuses when he losses to them and insulting them if they are driving better. It’s the main issue with the scuderia, someone as consistent as Carlos gets hate instead of being praised

  • Also how cool he talks about giving a little extra for fans spending a good amount of their earnings to go see the race and want to see you. Everyone pays lip service and I’m sure in many cases It’s legit but you can definitely tell some people have become pretty detached from the fans, understandable given their wealth and world but seems like Carlos truly appreciates and hasn’t lost touch.

    • Nah, this isn't broken English it's just depends on who and where he learned from You see it a lot in people that learn English from TV, it's hilarious hearing non-Irish/American/British people with the accents from one of the above 😂

    • @@robertharrington703 There are some instances where he speaks puts certain words in front of the other, when it doesn't need to be or simply rearranges the order of the words. Because, although he knows the English translation of the words he's saying, he forms the sentence in the way he would when he's speaking his own language. That is broken English. English words, but not adhering to the rules of the word ordering for the English language.. It's a very mild form of broken English, but broken nonetheless.

The way you outlined it is but my logic is he does it consistently, so it's something I just classed as the way he talks. Like people who say who instead of whom, it's technically wrong it's just what they learned growing up (I'm not a linguistics expert this is just my thoughts 😂)

  • This was wonderful. I feel like you just don’t hear much about Carlos And I guess I can see why he’s a pretty low-key chill dude but that’s quite nice to see honestly. Strikes me as down to earth no nonsense and just well chill. Also glad he acknowledged that drivers do see the memes and anyone who says otherwise is lying lol

  • I wasnt exactly the biggest Sainz fan, but holy crap the insight he gives? The explanations of tyre wear on rain, and the sprint is like a simulation of the sunday’s race start was just 10/10. Fantastic questions, and now Sainz is one of my favorite drivers!

    • The brand Max Verstappen is difficult to get. In the beginning (2017/2018) you had to pay x thousands of euros for an interview (had an friend working as journalist who gave me this information).

  • This was so lovely, Carlos is really fascinating to listen to, he mixes seriousness and goofiness so perfectly haha. So thoughtful about everything and everyone. Love him. Really liked his thoughts on sprint weekends and reverse grid, surely f1 can work something out and try to do reverse grid at least once to see what actually happens? I get that potential crushes and cost cap are things to worry about but I think it could be worth it. Thanks, boys, you did really well! Now release the whole hour haha
