You spoke very well about Steel Division 2. It is true. The best WW2 strategy with complexity i have never seen in any other war game.
If you have not seen it, give WARNO a go. Made by the same publisher it's very similar but 1980s combat. I absolutely love it at the moment.
@@rcmwalker1987 im aware of it, but i prefer WW2 and even graphics are more appealing to me than warno.
AI is complete garbage in both and only does attack move spam towards player. Only good for multiplayer, if you are into heavy heavy micro
@@extrarice1 Im playing 1v1 Multiplayer only. AI opponent is good for learning. If you can handle AI on hard difficulty with ease. You are ready for multiplayer.
Gears Tactics is very underrated! I was surprised by how fresh it felt compared to the rest. Wouldn't have thought a Gears/ XCOM mashup would work but here we are and I was glad to be wrong.
Nebulous Fleet Command is an insanely awesome game. But just a warning, it's extremely difficult to play well
cant recommend the game more. its extermely hard but damn, its like DCS but with spaceship
Ive got it, and it extremely hard to get into. Feels like i need a week or so of vacation to deep dive into it.
@@IIIJG52it's best done by getting the help of the community and progressing a bit at the time, there's a lot of game mechanics but they are all individually simple, it just takes a bit. With the community being so willing to help it's pretty fun to learn.
Big learning curve but that's part of the fun IMO. There's a lot of different ways to approach different scenarios. It's a meticulous, methodical kind of battle rather than rush in gun blazing type of thing. I know it gets described in a lot of ways but it plays more like a Cold War era Naval battle but in space but with Submarine-like tactics but instead of sonar, you use radar. Sometimes people mention Homeworld but it plays nothing like that.
40k:Battle Sector would be excellent if they just removed the mission requirement to kill all enemies in every mission, it removes any tactical calculations of going after objectives or killing enemies, because you know you'll always have to kill them all eventually.

Just got Age of Wonder 4 with all dlcs and i am so happy with it. I've been playing it non-stop.
I'm interested but see a lot of people saying the AI will never work well. How's that part feel to you?
Dune spice wars is fantastic. really impressed, far exceeded my expectations
I want to buy it, but I have some doubts. It seems to me complicated and I'm love rts more, like previous dune games, red alert, blizzard rts.
@@user-dx8en9bc6l yeah id describe it as a complex slower RTS with some grand strategy elements. Im not a big fan of fast paced rts games so it suits me perfectly, tho i can see how the pace might not be for everyone. If u ever strugglled to get into games like starcraft, this RTS is for u.

Great selection. Nebulous always seemed interesting, but never picked it up because it didnt have any campaign of sorts.
I can vouch for Against The Storm, Battle Brothers, Steel Division 2 and Frostpunk.
Lords of the Realm 1-3 and Lords of Magic are available as a package for less than $2. DOS classics, completely worth picking up tho. Like Total War, but made in the 90's. Lords 2 and Lords of Magic are the ones to try.
SD2 is one of my favorite games. Although I just play AG mode with AG supreme mod.

Against the storm is like cocaine ;p You play a map for like 1 hour, and then play another and another...Overall all the games here are awesome.I d add Zoo planet is on sale too.
Age of Wonder 4 i also highly recomend, and against the storm is very very good. Nebulous fleet command is cool but i just don't feel the single player is worth it. However the multiplayer is neat...though i have to admit that even though i have the game and am glad to support it...most of what i do is watch OTHER people play it lol.
Battle Brothers with its DLC is the best game on here by far.
I love it to death, but the comparison makes little sense. Different games in different genres with different scope and scale...
Has he ever talked about Gates Of Hell Ostfront? Surprised when I never see it mentioned.
I actually prefer GoH Ostfront over SD2, and play it a lot more often!
I had a quick look at cheap sale games before watching the video, on both the Steam and Fanatic sales, and found a few going cheap that you don't mention. Anyone know if any of these are worth looking at? Field of Glory: Empires Field of Glory: Medieval Master of Magic (remake) Total War: Three Kingdoms.
Agree about sd2 but nebulous unfortunately has 50% space combat and 50% naval combat and in addition sensor ranges and iirc weapon ranges are much smaller than they should be. Plus the z axis is crazy hard to get used to for a lot of people. Add to that maps that for the most part are giant sphereical areas made up of giant shperical asteroids and I like homeworld better. Fingers crossed it comes good.

Caveat on Age of Wonder 4. Even with discount, the base game doesn't have the depth of a good 4X game. It's fun but all the options are very shallow and repetitive. It's definitely better with DLCs but the combined cost then makes it one of the most expensive 4X game out there (thanks Paradox). Lastly, persistent performance issue and multi-player desync and current DLC related bugs will all prevent you from really enjoying this otherwise fine 4X fantasy game.
Age of Wonders 4 is pretty great.

I wish the Planet Zoo series came back. Or something very similar game to that. I miss PZ series so much.

gear tactics: one of the best xcom like game that i've played - and one of the cheapest also. tempting to try battle brothers, but the graphics of it doesn't interest me

I want to buy it, but I like more classic rts like old dune games. And it seems to me to much complicated, isn't?

My main issue with gears of wars tactics is, there's only 3 mission types, it gets very boring, very quick imo, in a way xcom2 didn't.

saying Steel Division 2 is 10 bucks is disingenuous...it's 10 bucks base game and the DLC is 80 bucks (in the sale)

No, it really isn’t. Plenty of people will enjoy the base game. Just because you don’t/didn’t/wont doesn’t mean other people won’t. Frost punk has much more than good narrative drive. Great game. Dlc meh
Been playing a campaign with house Vernius in dune spice wars such a fun game to get schemey with especially with the multiple victory conditions you can choose any path and have fun with it
Do not buy Against the Storm. It is not a city builder game. It is nothing more than an RNG production game with some exploration. It gets repetitive after about 20 hours of gameplay. You will get bored quickly after 50 hours.
I find your listing as misleading , as you show the games cut scenes and not gameplay . Its difficult to see the game mechanics if there is no actual gameplay .
