I just looked at the Factor website and find it odd that I can only look to see what kind of meals they have AFTER I have paid for them. How do i even know if I am interested in those meals until I know what those meals are? Sorry, but I'm not going to give them money and hope there is something there that I like. Maybe recommend to them that they should show a selection of meals that are offered first. I would love to have a program like that as I hate to cook and get very tired of having fast food every day. But, again, I'm not going to pay for an unknown. You wouldn't buy a video game without knowing anything about it!
EXECUTIVE ASSAULT 2 and Silica
DarkStar One is a great game I had many hours of fun in, I’d recommend that to new players especially as it’s only £1.49 on steam. It’s from 2006 so dated graphically but everything else is there, story-based missions plus assignments, bounty hunting, piracy, smuggling, trading, escorting, transporting etc etc.
I'm not from US but looks good! You deserve good sponsors here @ObsidianAnt
Why don’t the ‘X’ games get that much mention. X3 Albion Prelude is still one of the deepest space games ever made. I still play it.
Delta V: Rings of Saturn is very enjoyable, cheap and a single dev operation as well. It's nice little top-down, hard-scifi newtonian space mining sim. It even simulates stuff like your mined cargo banging against the inside of your ship.
Would love to get into the game, but i'm too retarded for the controls.
I was wondering if Delta V will appear but did not :D
Agreed, "ΔV: Rings of Saturn" is a game that deserves its own episode, I use the Anthropogenesis DLC because human portraits are overrated. Also, the game is on sale on Steam until March 21st
when it comes to space games, I still miss the days of Fractured Space 😭😭😭😭😭 nothing like that game out there and no hope for fractured space to return
The OG Fractured Space was the best. Before they decided to buff all ship speeds twice and made the snipers all weird. Still loved it.
@Lo043 yeah they did some really odd things with the game at the end, especially with the "story mission games" They really should have done different game modes COD style (free for all; capture the flag/satellite or search and destroy)
I must have stopped before these changes. Around the time fractured space came out of EA, I felt the player base had changed enough that it wasn't as fun. The small, relatively tight knit community was what kept me playing. Also, they sped up the ships? What made Fractured Space was the fact that the ships weren't fast and zippy. They were giant, capital ships and they felt like it. Making them go faster defeats the purpose-and this is from someone who mained Sentinel (and Raider, back when it was called a Frigate and before it got nerfed).
Wow a fractured space reference out in the wild? incredible. favorite game of all time
@JohnCena-fd5yw yep, fans still exist. Just wish someone could buy the IP form the company that bought the developer company instead of it just sitting dead on a shelf 😕 I damn well miss fractured space could have been an amazing game with the right team
Avorion! Thanks for giving it a shoutout, I always go back to it for some fun. It's a combo of lots of different elements, looter-shooter, block builder, economic sim, empire builder, etc. and they all work pretty well. Flying and upgrading your ship is very satisfying.
Battlestar Galactica Deadlock is also on a deep sale, and its a very good tactical fleet v fleet game. great depiction of the BSG universe as well. I would like to see it covered on the channel!
Star wars squadron comes into its own when you play it in VR it is incredibly immersive and feels like you are actually flying a real ship
Rodina is definetly worth mentioning. Realistic sized star system with zero loading screens, land anywhere on planets with atmospheric re-entry, space and fps on foot combat, ship costumization and a pretty interesting story despite being written entirely in text logs.
LOVE Rodina, i got it back when it was still pretty early and loved my time in it. Soundtrack is ace too.
I'd recommend to check out Cosmoteer: Starship Architect & Commander. It's something like real-time FTL with build your own spaceship, cooperative play included.
Cosmoteer is great, and I'd also add Star Valor to that recommendation as well! SV is currently 50% off, and there's a Cosmoteer and Avorion bundle that's 55% off, or Cosmoteer and Space Haven also for 55% off. It's a great sale for space games, that's for sure!
Don't forget Starsector. It's an evergreen.
Starsector is a LEGENDARY UNIQUE GEM and for me there is NO game that can compete with that - add to this mods and you have ultimate space game :)
Is Starsector on Steam? I was looking, and I can't find it. @@WojDestroyer
I bought it the other day, it is sitting there before I get deep into it. And the game itself is DEEP. If you like shiny 3D graphics tho it might not be for you
Spacebourne 2 4EVER! :D
Should throw Void Crew and Pulsar on there too!😀
yea pulsar is such a great game. void crew is also great but its not content dense yet as its still in early access but still worth it.
Interstellar Rift is another one to add to your list if you've never checked it out.
@@demigodzero9 eh, it had some interesting concepts, but in my opinion it fails to deliver at least for me.
Never heard of Citizen Sleeper before, seems reasonably complex and very fun!
The problem with Spacebourne 2 is that it is completely buggy and continues even after several updates(4.0 included)...In fact, with each new update, new problems are added. I believe that Evochron legacy should have been part of this video.
Check out X-wing Alliance Upgrade and Tie Fighter Total Conversion! A wonderful mod that brings old classics up to date.
I'm so glad Space Haven made it into this video. What a great game.
I have a pretty sweet rig and play all sorts of games but I’m pretty sure Space Haven is the game I have actually sunk the most hours into 😂
Try Duskers, if you haven't done so! It's a little gem. Quite unusual, minimalistic but exceptionally thrilling and suspenseful. Travelling through an apparently dead universe, boarding ships and stations to find out what happened and if there are other survivors.
citizen sleeper sounds like the most promising
Played through it last year. Very cool game!
Thanks Ant, I love Spaceborne 2, but currently addicted to Empyrion: Galactic Survival ;-)
Spacebourne 2 has it's fair share of issues but on the other hand it's definitly one of the best games i've got sitting on my SSD.
Perfect timing, thanks!
Nebulus command reminds me of nexus jupiter incident... god how i loved that game
SPACE CREW!!
Squadrons in VR is mind blowing !
Citizen Sleeper is amazing but surprised it made this list; excellent choice though.
House of the Dying Sun is fully VR compatible too. I come back to it every couple years. It still worked last time I tried maybe a year ago.
Glad to see Avorion in your list. That game might not look like much, but there are a lot of possibilities and things to do in it, plus the mod support is great! Honestly, worth the try imo
Don't forget to recommend straight-up Freespace 2. Once you have those files and FS Open, you can get pretty much any mod for it. Blue Planet, Just Another Day, Wings of Dawn, Solaris, Inferno, Sync/Transcend, Windmills, Derelict, etc.
Haven't heard anyone reference FreeSpace in a while. I had to rewind to be sure 😅
Ostranauts seems like it'll be a good one. It's still super buggy, but moving along at a pleasant clip.
Solargene is still early access but I’ve really had fun with it and it deserves an honorable mention if you’re into building and resource management
ΔV: Rings of Saturn I missed that one. Awesome little space mining game with newtonian physics. Single-Dev indie title. The Dev is very active, quite communicative and his patch-notes are among the best i can think of.
For some less 3D experience there is always Star Valor. Great space game as well.
Void crew might be worth a look. It's a 1-4 player co-op game with lobby-based missions for spaceship flying and some light EVA activities.
4:20 the ship looks like a flat version of an Idris from Star Citizen 😄
Star wars squadrons is amazing in vr.
Often overlooked and underrated space game is x4 foundations, with all it's DLC it's a great game.
Very true
I'm currently having a blast with Rebel Galaxy! It's 1,67€ currently in sale :)
House of the Dying sun, is amazing in VR, and Star-Wars Squadrons is nerd-gasm for fans of the old X-wing, and Tie-fighter series. Especially in VR. full HOTAS and you are rocking like a rebel! Much love for mentioning House of the Dying Sun though, So before it's time!
Spacebourne 2 absolutely blew me away (and I also haven't played it after the latest patch). At its core it does everything right (much better than plenty of other titles out there), it just needs polish. The fact that they're still introducing major systems like the ones in 4.0 is insane. That game is the definition of hidden gem to me. On the topic of single-developer gems, Evochron Legacy is also a great title. The layers of complexity and attention to detail in that game are impressive. Its one drawback are the dated graphics, but every other aspect deserves credit.
More games to add to my wishlist. I have Star Wars Squadrons, it is fantastic in VR. I also have SpaceBourne 2, but have not played it yet. The rest are new to me, thanks.
Everspace 2 is amazing Galaxy on fire follow-up. Space haven is best game in development
What a great list. One day maybe NTL will be featured in such a list. What a dream come true that would be! (Vids under channel)
Nebulous mentioned let's go! This is gonna sound like an ad lol but if anyone is curious about what it looks like, I have videos on my channel. Been addicted to that game since summer.
I enjoy Star Valor, Starcom, and Astrox Imperium. All Indie games, I believe all built on Unity.
Some reccomendations for multiplayer space games: Pulsar lost colony Interstellar Rift Void Crew Single player: Ostranauts
Definately in this list the biggest stars are Star Wars Rogue Squadron and Spacebourne 2 The first is great but more about brand than anything else, the second is still in early access, but it is indeed a great game already.
SpaceBourne 2 is a great title made by a solo dev that plays like it was built by a larger team. This and Starship Simulator are on my radar..
Endless Sky. Best Space Trading and Combat Game!
actually I got a Quest 2 recently and I would love to get some recomendations for VR space games, besides elite dangerous. does anyone have a sugestion ? a space game with full VR control support like VtolVR would be great.
The lone echo games are good but maybe not what you’re looking for if you want to fly ships. Space docker is short and simple but fun. Cant think of any more off the top of my head.
Hey ... Evochron Legacy SE.... is one to keep your eye on....
Just finished Citizen Sleeper last night - great game! It's a bit like a visual novel wrapped up with some minimal game mechanics. It shouldn't be too hard to play your dice wisely and uncover most of the game in 1 playthrough. Big fan of the story and look forward to more set in the same universe.
we need more people on nebulous fleet command.
minor note: timeline label says Spacebourne 3. Love ya Obsidian
Thanks :) I fixed it
At the end of this year, I hope I can return to Elite with a clear conscious. While ONLY Ship Interiors can truly redeem Odyssey, as long as it is something of equal caliber, such as Basebuilding ... it might ... MIGHT ... also get the job done somewhat.
Yea I reinstalled the game and it is still the same boring grind fest. I am like you maybe if they add the new ships and base building I can find something that tweaks my interest.
acatly ship interors would only work if its done right. but if not done right can realy hurt a game too by the way. also ship interos would only work if its mixed with bacly cosuom base buidling at the same time bascly. but theres only so much that can be done beforer theres a cut off pont so your game like in X4 doesnt overload your comptuter. also if X4 can do it then frotner should be able to do it too. also egosoft also just revamed X rebrths ship and base interors and just bacly fully intertaged it with bascly X3 to make 4X with futre planetray base and terrforming down in the roadmap sooner or later and dlc contect adding the useal dlc contect that normaly helps the devs of egosoft help depov the game more. suprely X4 does in fact use some of the reaming good game mehcinc detrectly bulit opion ogrnaly from the x-rebrth game in some areas like ship crews and other stuff like qests and ship interors for the most part.
It’s good to dream 👍🏾
just like eve, I'm heavily against WiS. it's unnecessary. Why do you want the ability to get up and go to the bathroom?
Thanks again, OA. Just went and made a 2-Euro-Purchase. And just to say, certain Sci-fi titles are also on offer atm: Aliens: Dark Descent is available at a comfortable price tag.
I got Juno New Origins in the spring sale and I can recommend it to anyone interested in rocket science, who might find ksp too cartoony or resource demanding
Citizen Sleeper is in the current humblebundle choice (12 dollars ish).
SW Squadrons is amazing in VR! Still easy to find games online.
Star Wars Squadrons makes me so sad now, if they didn't abandon it all it would have really needed was new maps every month or so. Squadrons is actually really fun, gorgeous graphics and sound but I can only play Galitan so many times before it just gets annoying.
I loved space haven for about a week, at which point I’d racked up too many hours and dead astronauts to consider it fun anymore. I should give it a go, but I am not ready to that darkness yet
I liked it, but found it very slow
Ring Runner: Flight of the Sages OPUS series Crying Suns
Wait, no ∆V Rings of Saturn? Hard scifi 2D top-down asteroid mining game?
I own all the ones I want from that list ._. which is most So to throw in something that isn't in the list, or on steam: Starsector is gonna be on discount on its own website until it hits 1.0 which looks to be a few years off now :D
Between the Stars
Star Wars Empire at War, a great game when you play one of the current Mods like Awakening of the Empire or Thrawns Revenge, they not only bring the graphics up to modern standards but massively improves the gameplay both campaign and tactical. in this vein X-wing Alliance a much better game than Squadrons and thats before the massive update mods available, including an amazing mod that recreates the classic Tie Fighter on the Alliance engine
Empire at War is a game that's just keep on giving. Keep having my ass handed to me on harder difficulties with the Thrawn mod but it's soo good.
Squadrons was fun, fully worth the 1 month subscription to EA Games, since I finished it in less than a week of real world time. I never renewed the subscription, and I would have been downright infuriated if I'd paid the full cost of the game for what it provided, but for less than $10 at the time, it was worth every penny, and not a penny more....
BattleGroup VR is pretty good too
Will Everspace 2 dip below $30?
Don't know, but it was definitely worth $30 anyway.
Highly recommend the Evochron series. Made by one guy and the combat was great. Even had city/base building on planet surfaces, was way ahead of its time. I found House of the Dying Sun extremely overrated, way too short.
Avorion is awesome. Pick it up. I've spent 800 hours in it so far.
First, I love what you do. I must say though that “real” space combat would probably take place at ranges far beyond what most games depict. In fact real life space combat would be well beyond visual range. I’m aware that at first glance this might seem like boring combat but I challenge devs to get this right. I find it hard to accept that this would be impossible to achieve. Not to mention realistic thrust vectors. I appeal to you to apply the same criticism to space combat that you apply to Microsoft’s flight sim.
I've had my eye on Spaceborne 2 for a while, and I may just have to go ahead and check it out. Not enough games do the RTS+Action game combination despite how cool it is.
The good thing is that the Action part was initially there, it wasn't anything revolutionary, but it was good enough, now Burak Dabak added the RTS elements, the game is starting to morphing into something else... I bet DBK is taking inspiration in X4...
starbourne in early access is the game that bethesda failed to make. and it just keeps getting better. so glad this diamond in the rough was included on your list.
Your chapter says Spacebourne 3 and I thought I had missed some news, I think that's a typo
I am a fan of Xwing Alliance and Squadrons I feel is a poor attempt at a Star Wars space game u-u The VR immersion is probably there, but I never played it VR. It's just not a satisfying dog fighting game for me so I can't recommend it honestly. I like the others you've suggested though and if I had the money would play them all ^^
Interestingly, the X-Wing alliance upgrade group made alliance vr compatible. A little jank here and there, but that’s to be expected with the 2d menus.
Hell yea space is back wish space jet had mecha just transform thats all
Thx OA. Regarding Spacebourne, when you say single developer do you mean an actual single dude doing all this?
Yep, just one person
Appreciate this list - too many early access games, as they scare me off. House of the Dying Sun got me though - insta-buy.
House of the Dying sun is excellent. I avenged the emperor and killed all those traitors. It's excellent in vr.
Angels Fall First.
Another list with no mention of where to find them.... why?
where is the game from the thumbnail
A very deep game: Starsector -> non-Steam though.
I'm not sure what it say's about me that I already own most of these games.. :)
> hybrid blend between homeworld and freespace Yeah say no more
Rebel Galaxy Outlaw is great and dirt cheap during the sale
Chorus , hotas compatible, story is muck but the combat is excellent
Star Wars Squardrons?
No love for Starsector?
Welcome💙 ✅✌🏼
Space Haven is still very much an Alpha though so that should be mentioned.
Spacebourne 2 has 1 developer... How is it possible that Starfield with that kind of budget and talent behind it couldn't achieve open world simulation with ships landing or free planet exploration is honestly weird.
Lack of a coherent vision, most likely. Or maybe a failure of imagination.
House of the Dying Sun is not on sale
There is another 😉
ORB, tomorrow war, genesis, osiris
You missed Freelancer.
"Spacebourne *3*"?
Yeah that was a mistake lol I think they meant Spacebourne 2.
Thanks for the heads up. I fixed it
House of the Dying Sun - Really couldn't get in to it. Just felt clunky and light weight.
It's so weird it's been making the rounds, several youtubers have covered it in the past week, which is weird bcs it came out in 2016
Why is there no KSP? There is no game simmilar to it except KSP 2 in EA that is not cheap and not finnished.
Star Citizen is very good- But have patience, it has aut- uh.... Austrailia level lag!
