  • There's also some old (stone age) rock paintings in Repovesi. They are not easy to see but just knowing they are there makes you think. You are probably not the only person ever to have struggled with making a fire with wood only in that place! :)

    • Obligatory, that was Valkeala. Dont confuse that village with kouvola. Old hangbridge went down when some idiots rocked it too much. And kouvola was named after bears. kouvo=karhu=bear in old finnish. And for paskajärvi artillery ground, there is good fishing spots in there. Not that you can legally go there, but there is serious fish in those lakes.

  • Yes there are some big signs on the border of the military area. I have visited the Repovesi national park with a few friends a couple of times and every time we hiked the longest trail spread across few days of hiking, really beautiful place during the summer and unbelievably nice lakes to swim around in. "Olhava" is the highest place in Repovesi and has some extraordinary views on a clear day. The "Olhava" "mountain" also is a really popular rock-climbing destination and the camp site near "Olhava" is usually really populated during the summertime with rock climbers!

  • What a nice video, now I want to visit that park too! I had a tip for getting better prices for hotels btw, that I forgot to post on the previous video: So, you can use those booking sites to easily look for options. When you find the most appealing option though, call that hotel directly, instead of booking from the site. Those booking services take a middle man's cut and hike the prices, but if you call the hotel and inquire about free rooms and a quote, you may get a way lower price that way.
