TAZ: Ethersea - A Brief History of Our Wasted World (Solo Piano)

not me realizing too late that this is the same dress I wore in my other Ethersea piano vid 🙃
Hi everyone! Sorry for the long break between videos! I had a huge case of writer's block while working on a big arrangement of TAZ: Balance's Crystal Kingdom, which I had hoped to post when the graphic novel came out but had no such luck. I may come back around to it soon, but for now, have some more Ethersea!
My Ethersea Theme arrangement is definitely my most popular to date, and I'm so grateful to everyone who has left kind comments and tried playing it themselves. Since I posted my sheet music and KZhead video, Griffin has updated the theme so it sounds slightly different than the version he posted on his Soundcloud. If he ever posts the updated version I'll be sure to fix mine and possibly upload a new video for it. Until then, have this early Ethersea track! I originally wasn't planning on arranging it because it's quite long and mostly atmospheric, but I wanted a nice easy challenge while I get back into the swing of regularly posting.
Like what I do? I put my heart and soul into every transcription and recording and would love your support so I can continue to make more. If you can, check out my Patreon page! www.patreon.com/allegroallie?...

  • Fantastic work - I love that you provide both the sheet music AND the keys, as it lets both sides of your audience engage with your arrangements however they feel most comfortable. Great job with the dynamics, and glad you're working through your writer's block. Can't wait to hear the Crystal Kingdom pieces!

  • I suddenly started imagining a future in the real world, where a teacher gives a lecture to their students in a school on Mars, and as they flip through a PowerPoint about the history of Earth, this song plays in the background. Beautiful job, can't wait to hear more!

  • I just want to say thank you. taz has gotten me through some hard times and the music always is comforting. even though ethersea was last season this song has a lot of nostalgia for me. keep doing what you are doing. we all appreciate it

  • Gave this a re-listen after about a year and it still blew me away with how sensitive and subtly emotional it is. Simply fantastic.

  • I found this months ago and loved it, but I just relistened to the prologue last week and wanted to come back and I'm about to _cry._ This is so good. Griffin's composition is fucking spectacular, and your performance is gutwrenchingly beautiful. The part starting at 1:52 gives me chills every time. It's so calm, so pleasant, so innocent, but then the chord progression takes it to a darker place and brings it right back. It's so perfect for a song about a world on the brink of destruction, in the calm before the storm.

  • Wonderful! If you're just working on Crystal Kingdom I guess it'll be a while until I get to hear that Amnesty theme, but that's perfectly fine! We'll be here for whatever you give us, on your schedule. There's no rushing art. Keep it up!

    • I’m not going in any particular order! I have a list of tracks that I want to work on and pick and choose from there. ☺️I haven’t done any amnesty yet because it presents a lot of unique challenges due to the instruments Griffin used. It’s still on the list though!
