I agree. I liked the older Tacoma's the new ones look cheap all that plastic underneath the front bumper. Hope they don't screw up the 4 runner. That infotainment system sucks. Probably won't change that either

@@GaryGraf that dinosaur only needed a few more gears, and a new infotainment system. I got one out of two on my ‘22 V8 GX460.
The next generation 4Runner is gonna look good and especially the new interior design 😍😍😍

Screen is a little too high. Hate it when they stick up.. like a Ford Explorer and Rav4 and yeah Tavcoma.., so many are looking like afterthoughts and a little too high. I dont want an freakin' ipad on the dash LoL ! Happy with the smaller screen so I guess I'll keep the 22 a WHILE. Your videos always good and informative, can't wait to see the rest of it. Back end looks cool.. next week we see the front :- ) I'll be jealous of the LED DRL's i'm sure.

@@jml9550I don’t think it will. I think the new TRD Off Road will be last years TRD Pro. TRD ORP will probably be around 57K and the pro will be mid 60’s. It’s easy to guess this because a loaded TRD ORP Tacoma is about 53K and 4Runners are always more expensive.
That is a nice big screen to watch movies on.

My biggest concern is what's under the hood.

Yeah, about that, the new gen Tacoma and now the 4Runner are going to be disappointments in the short term, which means people are going to be snapping up 5th gens. I've seen 2022 4Runner TRD Pros going for 60k and it's probably only going to go up from there, if you want one, you better get one now.

I don't care about the torque or towing, but I do care about the MPG. I just want to drive around a 4Runner to show off :)
I think that the triangular buttons are to raise and lower the rear glass
Needs a tailgate and roll down window . Or split window/tailgate, where you can sit with some rain protection.

I just don’t understand why people want such a gigantic tablet sticking out of the dash. I really wish they would fit it into the dashboard
It allows the screen to be higher up, closer to your eyeline, while keeping dashboard height lower.
There is so much talk about distracted, driving and phones, then they throw a giant distracting screen right in front of your face

@@wtp4110, I am pretty sure that the V-6 is not going to available on the 4RUNNER. Of course, only time will tell, but, I wouldn't hold my breath or get my hopes up. Just call me a pessimist.

Hard to say. I think demand for current ones might go up because some will want to buy them before the new ones come out
In my experience, Toyotas maintain the trend value. Even after new model release. Of course, value decrease but at same rate as usual..
The value of the older ones is going to go up much like the FJ Cruiser did.
The difference with the FJ is that after 220k sold in USA (7 years production) sales was halted here in 2014. Today is estimated some 20k to 40k are still on the road. 4Runner are still in continuous production..

Long term Toyota guy, and I will never buy another Toyota if it has a turbo or hybrid! I'll keep fixing the one I have until I croak.

Pricing should be interesting butting up against the Land Cruiser. Looking forward to way more power in the new engine.

Toyota always holds it value. I've seen totaled cars almost 10 yrs old fetch almost $18,000
The back deck is going to be higher because of the hybrid storage batteries.
or it will be the same if the batteries are under the second row seats like the tacoma
I do like the look of the new Tacoma, but I hope that the new 4runner will look a little bit different on the exterior and interior. I hope that the interior has a little less plastic compared to the Tacoma as well.

Need a button to push to close the hatch. If they didn’t do that they missed it. I hate having to grab the strap to pull it down. They have had the rear window up and down button this is not new.

Really curious on the interior. I have a feeling it’s going to be very Tacoma-ish which for some is going to be a deal breaker. Unfortunately it’s going to be using the 2.4 powertrain for sure. 😕

Those that do not care what interior and PowerTrain is - are dumb as a rock. If T4R will go the Tacoma, tundra and sequoia, Land Cruiser route - it’ll rut on the dealers lot and the sale for the previous mentioned models is suffering as well.
I doubt it will have the 4.0 V6. I'll pass.

you know it will have a stupid turbo that will add stress to the engine and need to be replaced around 150k or so.

Looks partially beautiful and super exciting. Owner of 2013 4Runner. Can't wait to upgrade. Will miss my V-6 engine. V-4Turbo charge...hmm. It's to going be interesting test driving it. APRIL 9TH!!!
