This machine shows you how strong you would be as an animal!
By pulling as hard as you can,
it not just calculates how much weight you pulled,
but also which animal it compares to!
So i took the biggest and strongest friend that I have,
to see if we can reach the animal at the top.

  • For those saying the animals can lift way more, at the beginning of the video, it is said to take your weight. This means that it takes the number of the animal, as well as its average weight, and scales it to your weight. Of course a Panda is way stronger than 228 kgs, but if the panda's muscle density was the same, but it's mass was lowered to that of the man, the amount it could lift would be around there. What this machine is essentially saying isn't that humans can move more flat weight around than any other animal, but that humans can move the most weight around compared to its own weight. If you scaled a human's muscle density up to the panda's weight, the human would be way stronger than the panda. While I don't know if the actual assertion is true, what the machine is saying still holds weight. By the very nature of a human lifting that much compared to its weight, it is the strongest creature. If I lift 5 pounds as a 1 pound animal, but a 2 pound animal lifts 8 pounds, it is indeed stronger than me. But if I was 2 pounds, I could lift 10 pounds, and so I would outclass the original 2 pounder.

    • @@Rus351 If you scale up an object isometrically (so the proportions are the same) the surface area is squared while the volume is cubed. This means for an animal the weight increases exponentially faster than the overall size, meaning the ant would collapse under its own weight at human size because its exoskeleton isn't made to support it. This is possible to overcome through evolution obviously, but insects have other concerns like breathing that cause them to be small even if they get bigger.

I had a friend in high school named Brandon, and we did this stuff all the time. I’d tell him I want to “sloth hang”, then would rest the back of my foot on his shoulder. We’d do a quick count, then on three I’d lean back as I’d swing the other foot up to meet the first one and have my hands around his wrist. It’s exhilarating to have someone who you can run towards and launch onto at full speed without them flinching at the impact. The human body is crazy!
