All the seats in these cars are heated, and if you don't wanna pay for that because you live in Florida, you don't have to. If the base model has heated seats, then the price goes up too. Also, if you want heated seats, you just pay whatever the option was supposed to cost and the dealer just unlocks it for you. No buying new seats and modyfying a wiring loom, just unlock Novel idea, lets see if it works

    • I personally like the fact that you can subscribe to certain features on a car. I’m not sure if you’re actually paying extra to have heated seats or navigation for example. It would just come standard on the car and you pay a subscription to use it or you don’t pay the subscription and you don’t use it. This is beneficial for a number of reasons, number one: now I can only pay for heated seats in the winter and not pay for them during the summer months. This actually saves me money, especially if you don’t plan on having a car long term, 7 years or more. Number two is that when I go to sell my car it now has all the features of a high trim model even if I never used those features or paid for them. Thus, my market to sell my car becomes larger and I can ultimately make more money because of that. Good idea in my option and it allows car manufacturers to a steady flow of income which is what investors desire, raising there stock price. I genuinely think this is a win.

    @davestewart9146@davestewart9146 Жыл бұрын
    • As far as i know, the monthly pay option only comes into effect if you were too cheap to buy the stuff with the new car. Then they give you the option to use it for a monthly payment or a 1 time payment somewhere around the price what the upgrade would have cost originally. Do your own research and dont belive everything. Do i dislike this practise aswell? Yea, kinda. Is it easyer for them to put heated seats in every car and only have 1 seat manufactured? For sure. Should you cheap out on a high priced car when it comes to heated seats? Bruh.

    • It is ridiculous but the main reason is due to their shift to electric vehicles. Since EV's don't require much maintenance, the aftersales business for these companies will significantly decline. Therefore, they are introducing digital services now which will be able to cover the aftersales losses. From a consumers perspective, it sounds awful but from the business perspective, it is necessary to be profitable.

IMHO though I’m not the biggest fan of the short chat breaks. I appreciate all you have to say, and I like hearing more about the car specs. and your opinions on the vehicles, but for me personally, I still prefer it the old way as a voiceover rather than a break. The sound deadening is just a bonus. That said any wheel arch liner is a guaranteed source of rust! Keep up the good work and loving the different music. The Pinky and Perky (look them up on KZhead) sounding music you have been using makes me reach for the mute button 😂

I remember watching a video where you detailed a REALLY filthy Cadillac Escalade, but during the detail you mentioned how the carpet that Cadillac uses is a very high quality carpet, and that Escalade turned out looking almost brand new when you finished it! I’m very surprised at the carpet quality in this Mercedes-Benz, and I’m absolutely appalled that the owner has to pay a subscription for heated seats, navigation, and other features! However, I didn’t realize that the entire vehicle had a paint protection film cover, so that was interesting to learn. I used to work for Enterprise Rent a Car, and I loved driving all different makes and models of vehicles. For thelast 20 years or so they would still build in the same heated seat but wouldnt enable it. Now they just give people the chance to use it if they basicly where to cheap to begin with. Same is with every ither system all cars are basicly full spec because it is cheaper for automakers to just make them all the same rather than having far more production lines. So you never actually paid for the thing same goes with the 9k Autopilot in teslas.You can say that most if not all companys do that. Mercedes just expands there buisness.

    • They paid for the car not for the feature. And this in my opinion is a good idea. Imagine you buy a $100,000 car for $80,000 with all the features locked, and you pay either monthly or you buy completely only the features that you need. Those features are same price to buy as they are when ordering a new car and opting for them. So, you are misinformed on this one, you don’t buy a feature twice, you never actually paid for it in the beginning. You either unlock it when you buy the car, or they give you the car with the feature locked, and you unlock it whenever you decide to (or never). I would want my old F30 to have a steering wheel heat feature built in that I could either buy later on or pay monthly only when I need it. People are misinformed on this matter, but it’s actually a very good thing

      @demproblems@demproblems Жыл бұрын
    • @@demproblems 🤨🤨🤨🤨 Hell no. Hell no. If I buy a car and it has a heated steering wheel. I shouldn’t have to pay a fee to use it, period. Especially with how fast these vehicles depreciate in value. Most successful people I know are frugal. They aren’t going to pay for something that another company or an older vehicle already has at the time of purchase. I literally know a millionaire who complains about paying 6.99 a month for Microsoft Word. He’s used to paying for the program one time like we did back in the day. Times have changed. I have a 80k Durango SRT. Everything on that bitch is unlocked. If they started charging me for heated and vented seats and adaptive cruise control I’ll put a bullet through the engine and collect the insurance money. Majority of people are feeling this way regarding this issue and as we know, the majority rules. This won’t last long. I give it 5 years.

      @rezzo_6fn659@rezzo_6fn659 Жыл бұрын
    • @@rezzo_6fn659 I probably didin't explain it correctly, so, I will use couple examples for it. Say for example you decide to buy a Mercedes, and base model costs $80,000. Now, all you want is the base model, or couple extra features that will bring it up to $82k and you're not interested in extra packages. What they are doing is, they are giving you your car PLUS $20k extra features that you will be able to unlock them anytime if you wish to. You don't have to pay for them if you don't want to, but if you do, you have 3 options, pay monthly, yearly or buy it forever, just like you would when configuring the car at the dealership. That's why I'm saying that this is a good thing, because for example I live in Florida and I buy a car, I don't need heating wheel or seats. After a year I sell that car, and the guy drives it to Alaska, he will have those features in the car, all he has to do is unlock them with one of those 3 options. Paying monthly allows you to save a lot of money, you use them only in the winter time anyway so you pay basically for 3-4 months and you cancel the subscription. It's not like you're buying a car with heated seats and afterwards you're paying a fee, no, you have 2 options, you either buy a car with the heated seats for $51k or you buy the same car with the heated seats LOCKED for $50k, and if you decide to unlock the heated seats forever, you can pay $1k, or you can pay yearly or monthly. A lot of people lease their cars, so, they would rather pay for those features for a year and return the car back, rather than buying them forever and not keeping the car for more than 2 years. I hope this explains more in depth the purpose of the subscriptions and what I was trying to say :) Just for the record, I recently bought a new BMW X4M with most of the features, which I paid for them. If I was to lease the car, I would opt for a yearly subscription

  • Great video on detailing, though there are a couple of corrections: 1. All 2022 Mercedes-Benz vehicles sold in Canada include a 3-year complimentary plan for Mercedes-Me services, providing users with the ability to remotely start, lock/unlock, and locate their vehicles. Here are the corrections: - Heated seats are standard and do not require a monthly subscription. - Navigation is standard, but over-the-air updates are part of the Mercedes-Me subscription. The subscription fees for remote lock/unlock and over-the-phone remote start are necessary due to the infrastructure required to communicate with satellites through the app. As a product specialist for Mercedes-Benz Canada, feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

You really do need to consider getting a better vacuum, a home central vac & tiny attachment isn’t really the best and many videos it shows it isn’t really picking a lot. Just takes up your time even more if anything. Suction just isn’t there and using a good solid brand like dewalt or another good shop vac will go long way in picking up a lot more particles in fibres etc first time around too. You spray a lot of water/solution! Sometimes less is more considering vehicles higher trim levels have a lot more electronics and once that damp/wet even after extraction it’s not fully dry for days & same goes for carpets. As for “brands” charging extras, well we allow that by buying their brand, that being said we also can empower change.

They charge up front for the feature and then monthly for you to be able to use it. Having said that, I'm not a fan of government intervention - at least not in a case like this. I think it should be the market that determines the pricing.
