    • If he had integrity he wouldn't be reciting verbatim the lexicon of the brainwashed. The education system in America is terrible ... you sort of hope that there are individuals that can step out from under it and formulate coherent thoughts that differ from the orthodoxy therein ... I used to think he was in that mould but unfortunately not in this case. Poor man must be skint and either looking for a job or has succumbed to being a paid parrot!

He gave up his career, his fame, his income, but NEVER his conscience! When you lack a definition for humanity, just look at Chris Hedges!!! He has my respect for eternity!

    • This American did. Fantastic, but Mr. Hedges would repulse many Americans. He cast Trump (and everyone in alignment) as a looming terror at least not as bad as pure genocide. This blasted 100+ million people, many supporters of the US proxy Hedges campaigns against, in a time when the entire world is finally awakening to the truth. People need to be brought into discussions and educated and given appeals. Instead, he goes on about white supremacy. It cannot be understated how foolish that was, and the damage it does to this cause. This should've been an objective tour de force, free of editorial. He ironically spread fear and distrust. It's a shame the room warmly welcomed this, perhaps highlighting why they struggle to bring more light to their cause, particularly in the US. It's hard to sit down with people who see you as illegitimate, unreasonable, with no place in the civil world. Of all people and places, I didn't expect dogma here. This is not the way.

    • Start pulling the rug from underneath their feet... *Boycott:* Much simpler than trying to remember the long loooong lists of what _not_ to buy, and for whatever specific reasons, is to try and limit what one actually _does_ buy: *buy no-name brands from small companies (addresses usually on the labels), buy local foods (farmers markets), buy locally produced or handmade items, otherwise go slightly "over-regional," or buy fair trade wherever possible.* It is not a perfect strategy, but don't get sidelined by the whiners/finger pointers who will invariably ALWAYS show up like clockwork, trying to ridicule or nag with their dumb _"...duh but your using a smartphone, but your using oil toooo"-gotcha style_ distractions. It is not MEANT to be "perfect"... *Methodology:* JDI and make it a _longterm lifestyle,_ not just a short-term knee-jerk "trend," because of some or other upsetting event in the news. Just boycott ALL corporations, as far as personally convenient and possible, and always remember that even if only 75% of all the people on the planet only get it right about 75% of the time, on roughly 75% of everything they buy, it will finally make a massive difference for all the causes _you_ also value. Want to bring the boys home? Do you wish to limit military actions to becoming multinational, following the principles of international law only, and independent of any corporate "interests." Do you wish to contribute to end western imperialist actions and meddling all over the world? You wish to contribute a small share to forcing Israel into a negotiated peace process? Do you wish to give small companies a better chance in the dog-eat-dog capitalist world in your country? *Join BDS, because the international cross-border politically influencial rich and powerfull only REALLY start caring when their pockets start hurting.* Regardless of where you live, or how much money you have, just remember this: - You are not going to achieve change by voting in elections. - You are not going to achieve change by posting on social media. - You are not going to achieve change by debating on any plattform, real or virtual. - You are not going to achieve change by making use your "freedom of speech" in any way. - You are not going to achieve change by protesting in any possible way which will politically make a difference. *Here is what you can do, easily:* 1) Read Smedley-Butler/War is a Racket, a very short book (should be possible in a few hours) 2) realize that after around a 100 years, NOTHING has changed 3) start unravelling the connections between big business and Washington DC, by boycotting "big brands". 👍👋

    • Concern for Iranian foreign policy is not limited to its nuclear ambitions, but its proxy forces and alliances with violent groups across the Middle East. Since the Iranian revolution of 1979, when the Shah was overthrown and Ayatollah Khomeini returned to the country, the Iranian regime has sought to embed its influence across the region. To do this, Iran has countered conventional military forces with a network of associated militia groups and other non-state actors, starting with Hezbollah in Lebanon in the 1980s. The Islamic revolutionary guard corps (IRGC) Quds force has been key to this process. Regional instability and weak states in Lebanon (from the 1980s), Iraq (from 2003) and Yemen (from 2014) have allowed Iran to develop alliances with Hezbollah in Yemen, militia groups in Iraq and the Houthi group in Yemen. Iran has also supported President Assad in Syria, with the two countries being long-standing allies.

They were able to get a hearing with congress about some questionable antisemitism and also conflating it with clearly non antisemitic chants of free Palestine river to the sea. Didn’t take much, and it moved quickly. Now look at all the anti Palestinian crap going on, like real/actual attacks such as chemical attacks by two former IDF israeli soldiers on Columbia campus. Nothing has been done. No raising hell. No worry about hate on campus by Ackman. No congress hearings. Nothing. There is a foreign element causing havoc in our country, and it ain’t from south of the border.

He wept through the reading, but managed to get to the end . It brought back memories of Chris Gunnes the former UNRWA Spokesperson who during a media briefing broke down completely and openly sobbed after another of Israel's campaigns on the Gaza Strip. It leaves us, the viewers sobbing as well, feeling utterly guilty for not being unable to stop what we see playing out before our very eyes. Many of us know, had this been WW2 that we would have been fighting on the side of the persecuted. This 360 degree turn from victim to persecutor which has been well documented since the exodus from Europe to Palestine, tears at the soul. It would be easy to believe humanity dead, but for the voices of Chris Hedges and his ilk. Thankfully, these voices have never waivered despite what has been thrown at them, including the loss of their jobs and security. History will reward them. May their voices carry for eternity.

Ì believe in our right to keep our guns and freedom of speech. They go hand in hand. America, to me, is a police state slowly imploding into a Yugoslavian war when it finally happens.

Unfortunately, it is a sad fate those of us in support face due to our media portraying it as though we support the deplorable things our government is doing. Two years ago, during Ramadan, Israel went into a Masjid in Gaza and started shooting while men, women, and children were praying. Literally on their hands and knees with their foreheads on the ground; yet no one did anything to help Palestinians. I said then, and I’ve said it ever since, what Israel is doing to Palestinians now is no different than what Hitler did then.
