This was a fabulous semi-final. Interesting to contrast the emotional expressiveness of both players, Sabalenka wears everything on her sleave, but Pliskova was a completely closed book. Brilliant afternoon of women's singles tennis.

I've always been a fan of pliskova. Sometimes I feel she's not trying hard enough to win. Today I saw a different side of her. Maybe this time is her time to win her maiden grand slam. Pliskova FTW!!!

I was shocked that Karolina can move fast and well in a match. This tall, gorgeous lady beat the powerful and aggressive Aryna. It was an epic match and good job for these two ladies. Congratulations to Karolina and looking forward for the final battle with Ash. #tennisfan
I'm glad Karolina was able to pass the Sabalenka test. Hoping that she'll lift her maiden Grand Slam title on Saturday. It's long overdue for the former world no. 1 anyway.

Firstly, brilliant performance from both, and very happy for Pliskova. But also, something interesting I noticed in another highlights video of this match- Pliskova was SMILING when serving at match point. How on earth she had the clarity to stay calm and smile at serving for the match in a wimbledon semi (against a top class opponent in such a close match) is beyond me. I'd be having a panic attack!
She said that she threw the ball before serve so awfully she had to laugh at it :DD
I watched it live she was smiling because of the crowd and her toss
Pliskova is a wonderful player. That beeing said, sometimes I get so mad at her because she doesn't move! But, today, she did and also her serve was on point. Congrats!

Great match and happy for Karolina. However our Australian Ash will play to the edges and Karolina will need to run for everything if she wants to win. Should be a great final. Hope Ash wins but Karolina is a popular player here in Australia.
Great match ...Pliskova was brilliant !! Sabalenka as usual with screams even for second serve and hard hitting strokes all the way . Finally a screamless final ahead at the centre court 🙏
These are not breathing related yells. She just wants to annoy her opponent. I would be annoyed having to listen to that yell.

I never had a problem with other screaming tennis players, but I find Sabalenka's screams very annoying.
3:23 she seemed like; oh I forgot my screams. She definitely can play silently or with low grunt, her screams are intentionally to break her opponents' focus.

Being out of top 10 after nearly 5 years was really a wake up call for Pliskova. She said that it was a headline in her country so that motivated her a lot I guess. That wake up call came at the correct time 😁

Pliskova has always been a bit of a enigma...lots of talent, but motivation has always been a question. That said, she must have a great sense of humour: Her errant ball toss on match makes her smile..right into the game winning ace. There is so much "cool" there. I hope Pliskova and Barty both win...love them both. (an aside) the animal being tortured (screaming..grunting) during the Sabalenka-Pliskova match seemed to have gone away with the final point.

My ears are ringing just from watching the highlights. But watching the whole match was a torture. The WTA should realize that this is massively off-putting for fans and start acting once again (they promised to eliminate the screamers from the tour many years ago, but they didn't have the guts to do it).

For example, they may wear "Ban screamers!" T-shirts or banners (with Sabalenka's photo) that would be seen on TV etc.

If the WTA bans them, they won't be here. And they have not always been here. Tennis was played without screamers for 100 years. Sabalenka is not grunting. It's unprecedented hysterical screaming that sets a new bar in unsportsmanlike behaviour. Intentional, annoying the opponent and the audience. Unacceptable, shameful.
