I'm 18th generation American and a Muslim who has passed through all of what you are describing. On October 8th, I spoke with a close Jewish friend expressing my deep sympathy for Israel and my horror at the acts of Hamas. At this point, I feel revulsion at the entire nation, save those Israelis who are desperately attempting to contravene their government, an opinion which usually lands them in prison. A few notes: Within 10 miles of me lives a doctor who has lost 100 members of his family. He sent a 21 page letter to Anthony Blinken with photos of all of them. I watched video of a corpse dragged from the back of an IDF military vehicle, of bulldozers building a road through a cemetery centuries old, of apartment buildings being levelled one after another, of the back of a prisoner with a Star of David carved in it. Ask yourself why the number of civilian dead has stood at 34,000 for 5 weeks. That's because, with the destruction of the last hospital in Gaza (mass graves are currently being found around it containing hospital workers) THEY HAVE COMPLETED KILLING ALL THE COUNTERS. All the children killed by Hamas on October 7th, 38, looks like a clerical error compared to the well over 15,000 killed and around 1,500 missing one or more legs some taken without anesthesia because there was none, and some with multiple amputations on the same limb because infection set in and there was no penicillin.
As much as i love LBC and absolutely respect James O'Brian and his excellent journalism but LBC's wrong doing of Sangita we all should boycot LBC unless it brings back Sangita

@@sumomaster5585 Every nation on Earth fought a war for the land they stand on and their sovereignty. Losing 1 war meant Israel was allowed to expand to around their current border. One of the major issues with Israel for the last 30 years is, they were expanding under unusual circumstances. Settlers would buy some property in Gaza, then once enough of them were clustered together, the IDF would move in and basically commandeer the areas for Israel. It's weird, but nobody that was strong enough attempted to stop them. That part is their now. Even now, if they were just in a straight war and took over Gaza, then that would be their right. As they are Nationalist, they would naturally kick out people they didnt think belonged in their nation. This is why we need to fight against White Nationalism here in America. The end results if they get in power would be ridiculous. The problem with the way Israel is pursuing war right now is that they are wiping out civilians for no reason. They dont have any military objectives like , take out military installations, or take over the capital. They are just killing for fun. It's not ok. From America. I support a Palestinian state and Israel as a nation. The issue with the protesters is crossing from protest to criminal conduct. January 6th was a protest which became a crime and the @#$$% who committed that atrocity at the Capitol are being held to account. Once these protesters crossed to criminality by threatening Jewish students, actively disrupting the ability of other students to go about the studies and occupying buildings they have delegitimized themselves as protesters and just become criminals. And, agreed, Israel's loss of international standing and legitimacy as a liberal democracy is monumental. Israel policy is set be Netanyahu, whose only desire is to remain in power and out of court. He will sacrifice every Gazan any remaining hostages, any IDF soldier and Israel's relations with the world just to stay in power and out of prison. Netanyahu is not a rational actor for his nation, he is acting solely out of self-preservation. He needs conflict to remain in power, be it in Gaza, the West Bank, against Hezbollah or Iran. Netanyahu is an agent of chaos in the Middle East and will remain so until removed from power.
O'Brien is just a bandstanding self publicist. He's shown no self reflection regarding how he previously cheered on the purge of the Left in Labour for voicing the same criticisms of Israel that he now feels safe to articulate. And when his colleague is axed for challenging an Israeli spokesperson... radio silence. Sangita's sacking is an important news story that gives vital context regarding how reporting is curtailed by interests allied to Israel, but of course it's hardly mentioned, much less examined, by legacy media. LBC isn't news, it's an entertainment product that will pull the plug when their contributors expose too much truth.

Had he and others been paying attention, they would realize that the October terror attack was a reaction to decades of oppression and violence visited upon the Palestinian people. Young people understand this because they have not been brainwashed for decades by Western media that has been influenced, bought and silenced by Jewish money. And that is not anti-semitism, but simply pointing out the truth as made evident by the unfair sacking of journalists like Sangeta and Mehdi Hassan.
I'm 60 myself. I've been concerned about this Israel issue since the 1970's. When Apartheid fell in the 70's I thought Israel would change shortly, maybe even a whole decade at most, but by the time I started working it seemed unbelievable that this was still going on. Here we are in the 21st century and Apartheid still exists, and not even in some stone age backward country, but in what purports to be a modern country. Perhaps the key factor here is in this small country, they are limited by their language , which is used by few in the world, thereby limiting the conversation.
What took you so long to make a difference? Volunteering to a Palestinian NGO is/was available for the past 3/4 decades
