I saw the kid throwing money at them not shooting at them, then the next segment he is shooting but clearly says " running from the bad guys" it's a different car with lightning bolts on it(the one he is shooting). I don't know if you'll have the option to shoot anyone chasing you cops or bad guys etc but going from this trailer I wanted to rewatch that part you mentioned. Looks like he's tossing money literally at them.

I gotta good feeling about this game. Since it's based in the 90s and the creator grew up in the 90's, he was in nostalgia type mood and really put his heart into it
As someone that's hitchhiked all over the country, I can definitely say you meet some characters out there. (miracle I'm alive to type this)

I hitched in the desert and could have died if no one picked me up (I ran out of water), I hitched in Los Angeles drunk out of my mind four times and the people that picked me up could have done God knows what. True stories. Ironically, people won't pick me up in my hometown after being gone traveling for nine years.

I did some quick math. Assuming that at each narrative step the player is given three choices, you only need 11 total decisions to reach their 148268 paths

That is assuming that none of the choices offered later are dependent on the choices offered earlier.
