Perhaps Canadian people (except for Habs fans, they're secure) don't like an American team that hold the consecutive playoff series streak. I get why people are impressed with the Canes. They're a machine and healthier than last year. I hope that if the Isles cannot pull off the upset, the Canes take care of the overrated power play-dependent Rangers. If Dobson can't play it will hurt. Varlamov will probably start, not Sorokin. I think this channel missed that.

Isles have more of a systematic style of play, not putting one second on being out of position. Canes have more of a chaotic style of play, D will pinch and forwards will sit at the line. It's gonna be a hell of a series.

Lightning fan here. I just want you to remember one thing. When Tampa was swept in four against the 8th seed in the east after the President's trophy, what did they do the following year? Win a cup. Boston lost to the 8th seed last year after leading 3-1 in the serie to the 8th seed and winning the president's trophy. Expect Boston to be hungry AF in this year's first round playoff. Leafs better buckle up because if they don't play their best hockey starting the serie, they could realize they're already down 2-0 in the blink of an eye. Rangers and Canes should be fine. I'm expecting hard fought battles for the other two series in the East. Boston in 6 (goaltending is a lot better for Boston) and Florida in 7 (it pains to write this...)
Florida vs Tampa wont go to 7 - Florida has way too much depth and to be honest, If both teams play at 100% prime its Florida 4 or 5.

Hey Lockeroom, you should do a video on the Lindgren brothers, kinda an interesting storyline going into the Capitals vs Rangers playoff series. One is a long time defenseman in the NHL who's well known for his toughness, the other is the older one but a seasoned AHLer who finally got his chance as a starting goal tender in the big show and now he's tied for first in shutouts I believe and he's facing his more "successful" younger brother in the playoffs.

dude the islanders basically had a 10 game winning streak and a 6 game winning streak both this year....have you seen their lineup? it is awesome . almost every single forward they have has scored at least 20 goals in a season and theres some that scored 30 and in years prior 40. their D is awesome dobson is a complete stud and then pelech pluck and romanov are no slouches.They have elite goaltending also

I would absolutely love to see a 7 game series between the caps/rags. But after last year I see a 5 game series. Cats, leafs, and canes. As a bolts fan I would have much preferred to play the b’s.
MY PREDICTIONS: Rangers in 5 Bruins in 4 Tampa in 6 Carolina in 6 BTW I am a Leafs fan. FLorida is my pick for the cup. I think they can beat any team in the remaining 15, EXCEPT for 1. Tampa. For some reason Tampa plays them hard. Tampa could be the upset, but if Florida gets by Tampa, they may hoist the cup. The Canes/ Isles will be the most balanced series. I have no faith that my Leafs will win a single game. I want them to win the cup but I think its 4 zip and out .

@@Firearcher4 , WAHHHL has been a .500 goalie at best, 12-11-2…..Samsonov played a lot of games against inferior opponents, which inflated his record somewhat. I am not argumentive, but I have to see the Leafs lose for a few personal reasons. They can win the Cup when I am gone, that I can not argue with. Carolina in 4 is crazy. While they will win, and they have a new powered up offense, itll be put to the ultimate test. Against one of the best goalies of the decade, in ilya sorokin. These games will all be low scoring games as usual with the islanders. Canes in 7 probably. No chance for a sweep.
You are overestimating the Isles. They went on a 2-3 week streak but they aren't that good. They are going to get spanked by Carolina. There is no way in hell this goes past 6 games.
I agree gonna be a long hard fought series. What many don't realize is that Sorokin has lost the net to Varly. Lambert was a shit coach and Sorokin has had a bad habit this season of giving up soft deflating goals at the worst times. Always waited for him to turn it around and he never quite could. Varly got the nod and has been lights out. St the same time, team has found its ability to play defense and embrace Roy. Carolina should obviously still be favored but if Varly continues to play well and isles stay out of the box it will be a long series.

Bobrovsky always had good regular seasons. Last year was the first time he hasnt disappeared in the playoffs. Except in the finals of course. He most likely will disappear again, so tampa have this series in the bag. They have a way more experienced lineup too.

As a TML fan, thanks for that prediction. However, I think you're wrong. I certainly hope it goes to 7 games (if nothing else than just great entertainment value!) but I think the Bruins will advance, not the Leafs. (Bruins are my third favourite team though; Panthers are my second. So wen either of those 3 teams play against each other, I usually don't like watching. However, I will watch the playoffs and just hope for the best. Would love one of those 3 to win the Cup, but least likely are the Leafs.

I think the bruins bottom 6 overpowers the leafs bottom 6 and they squeak out a series win because of it. The leafs roster is so incredibly top heavy that all it takes is figuring out a way to mess up one line and their whole offense unravels, plus I dont think the leafs top line can physically hold up in a 7 game series. I think the leafs come out of the gate hot and win the first 2 decisively, then the cracks start to show. I think its going to go similar to what happened to the Bruins last year. I think the bruins are just a bad matchup for the leafs, and they can turn it in to a slog that the leafs aren't equipped to win.
Yeah I think the Bruins are a deeper but that firepower in the top 6 is why I decided to give it to the leafs this season. Who knows maybe the locker room curse strikes again and I jinxed them 😆

Pay attention bud....Varly is the Isles goalie now, not Sorokin. Sorokin is healthy and is a stellar back up (even a stellar starter, typically) but Varly has been their goalie for the last few weeks and has been THE best goalie in the NHL over that period. They have won 8 of their last 9. Oh and they beat Carolina in their season series....acting like they can't win a game lol Doofus And did you say Kochetkov should win the Calder? He will end up 3rd in voting.
They have played Carolina once since December. Carolina is a far better team especially since the addition of Guentzel. This series won't go longer than 5 games. The Isles are being overrated by some. They had a negative GD and lost more games than they won. They are not that good.

I don't agree with a sweep either but I also don't see it as a long series. Just my opinion. Strange things happen in the playoffs so I guess we will see.
