Not quite accurate, many young Americans who signed up after Pearl Harbor were likely out for revenge which is a hate. And the old leaders of the Allied Powers did talk to Hitler and tried to appease him. Hitler, Hirohito and Mussalini could have made much better humane decisions for their country's futures but instead brought on WW2 by themselves.

На 2 Мировой Войне заработали только американцы. На их территории войны не было и они продавали оружие. В СССР такого не было. Оружие на заводах делали голодные дети в три смены, на народные деньги.

Брат моей бабушки погиб в возрасте 21 года в тяжелейшем бою под блокадным Ленинградом. Накануне там на пятачке в несколько километров. почти целиком погибла дивизия -- 11 тысяч человек. В прощальном письме он просит детей слушаться маму и пишет, что если суждено ему погибнуть, то смертью храбрых, за освобождение отечества. Он знал, что скорее всего идёт на смерть. На фронте с 18 лет. Его двоюродный брат тогда же и там же служил авиамехаником, вернулся с войны в 45-м. Мы помним.

Моего деда не взяли на фронт, трижды отклоняли его прошение, так как он был на тот момент хорошим специалистом (он был тракторист-механизатор). На третий раз ему дали бронь со словами, что если и он уйдёт, некому будет заниматься сельским хозяйством и нечем будет кормить солдат. После этого он в своём колхозе открыл школу трактористов, где обучал подростков и женщин пахать, сеять и убирать урожай. Со своими ребятами они постоянно перевыполняли планы. После войны ему было стыдно смотреть в глаза ветеранам, родителям и вдовам погибших на той страшной войне, считал себя трусом. Хотя никто в деревне его таковым не считал, наоборот, все прекрасно видели, как он работал. Поэтому для меня чтить память тыловиков не менее важно, как и фронтовиков.

Брат моего деда был летчиком, считается безвести пропавшим и по сей день звали его Джафар, воевал он за СССР был этническим Иранцем и выходцем из Узбекистана и по сей день дед рассказывает как ему нечего было есть во время войны он был тогда подростком говорит что все уходило на войну а кормился он черепахами и тутовником , для справки из Узбекистана было мобилизовано больше 1 500 000 миллиона человек и вернулось всеголишь 500 000, 9 мая у нас день памяти и почестей вечная память дедам , деду 94 в этом году будет...

Нашей семье повезло: один дед сражался с Японией, другой дошел до Берлина, оба артиллеристы, оба вернулись живыми, хотя и израненными, в 1945 году. Всем нашим дедам вечная память. Помним их подвиг и передадим эту память дальше.

My Grandfather served in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII.. He drove the Higgins Boats (LCVP) during the Normandy invasion. He just turned 101 years old back in December. A few weeks back he fell and broke some bones; is in the hospital because of this. He's in pretty rough shape and not sure he will live much longer. On top of this, he has Alzheimer's, so he's confused and agitated most of the time. If you can pray for him, I'd appreciate it 🙏

Like Switzerland. We were never involved in the conflicts but there were some incidents. US bombers accidentally dropped bombs on northern cities due to navigational errors.

Would have been interesting to have the percentage of its population too. For example, Newfoundland's 1200, was probably 1-2% percent of the islands population. It was less than 100k I believe.

If there was a second percentage number related to the population number that would really open up everyone's eyes. Some countries who had smaller losses had a very high percentage of the male population die in this war. Sadly wars are a strange form of savage population control.

России территории худосошной бедной Украины не нужны, только деньги из налогов тратить на воостановление и содержание этих территорий без всякой прибыли. Война в этом случае происходит за русское население на территории украины, и за защиту России и русских от нацисткого отродья на территории украины и угрозы западных стран. Нам не нужны базы под нашими границами с биологическими лабораториями и ракетами, направленные на наши города. Поэтому эта война для нас вынужденная как минимум по двум причинам. А если вы не понимаете природы происходящего, то это говорит лишь о вашей ограниченной информированности в этом вопросе. Или может быть поляки забыли что с ними творили украинские нацисты во время Второй мировой войны? Так вот наша память не такая короткая. И помним известное развлечение западных стран, коллегиально нападать на Россию каждые 100 лет.

Human history is riddled with wars. The rich instigate wars, the poor fight and die. Nothing will ever changed as long as humans exist. So much for humans being an intelligent species. WW1 was labelled as the war, to end all wars. 20 years later, we have WWII. We will never learn. Politicians start wars, none fight wars. Maybe they should finish what they started. Why should the poor die for their lust for power, their ambition, their greed.

Two year after WW2, India gained Indepedence, which had been on route since India involvement in WW1. India fought well, and they should be proud. WW1 The British themselves adopted a "carrot and stick" approach in recognition of India's support during the war and in response to renewed nationalist demands. In August 1917, Edwin Montagu, Secretary of state for India, made an historic announcement in Parliament that the British policy was for: "increasing association of Indians in every branch of the administration and the gradual development of self-governing institutions with a view to the progressive realization of responsible government in India as an integral part of the British Empire." The means of achieving the proposed measures were later enshrined in the Government of India Act, 1919. WW2 Indians were angry when Britain, which ruled them, declared war on Nazi Germany in 1939 and exploited their resources to support the conflict. Some Indians, such as upper-caste urbanites, were loyal to the raj - British rule over India - and fought enthusiastically for the Allies, but the vast majority volunteered because they were offered land, a stable salary and steady meals. Others joined to refine their technical or engineering skills as the military modernized over the course of the war, allowing them to gain experience with more complicated machinery as it was introduced. In August 1941, Prime Minister Winston Churchill and President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed what became known as the Atlantic Charter, a new vision for the postwar world, highlighting the right of all people to self-determination. Though the United States had not yet entered the war as a combatant, it was supplying military hardware to Britain and created the document as a justification for its support to the Allies, laying out its anti-fascist hopes for the world. Britain was desperate to bind itself to the United States and persuade it the join the war, and Churchill begrudgingly signed the statement, although it challenged the very foundation of the empire. The Atlantic Charter spurred hopes of independence among the British colonies. But a month after the charter was signed, Churchill clarified that the right to self-determination outlined in the document applied only to countries under German occupation. The damage, however, was already done. In 1942, Mohandas K. Gandhi began his Quit India movement, demanding the end of British rule, galvanizing Indians against British colonial forces and threatening the economic and natural resources London needed to continue fighting. A star of the Indian independence movement, Subhas Chandra Bose, split with Gandhi’s nonviolent campaign and aligned himself with the Axis powers, who he believed would empower him to raise an army and win India’s autonomy. Bose toured the prison camps of Europe and Asia, building a force by recruiting Indian expatriates and Indian prisoners of war. Bose’s military, the Indian National Army, was a roughly 40,000-strong force. By 1943, he established the Azad Hind, or the provisional government of India in exile, in Japanese-occupied Singapore and declared war on the Allied powers. Bose’s ultimate goal was to invade India and liberate it from the British. Once the I.N.A. and the Axis invaded, Bose bet, Indians would rise up en masse. The British forbade their media from reporting on the rogue force, worried it would spur Indian troop defections. In March 1944, Bose had his chance to shatter British rule. The Japanese military, with the support of the I.N.A., launched Operation U-Go, a campaign to invade northeast India from Burma and smash a buildup of Allied forces in the area. If the Japanese and the I.N.A. prevailed, they could extract India’s resources to revitalize their war effort, perhaps prolonging the war, and use India’s strategic ports to cut off Allied supply lines spanning from East to West. But they faced stiff resistance from Allied forces, which were overwhelmingly nonwhite - about 70 percent of the fighting force was from India and to a lesser extent, African colonies. (British forces were reluctant to serve in India, preferring the glamour of the European front lines.) The fight, known as the Battle of Kohima and Imphal, produced some of the worst bloodshed of the war in Asia. As Britain-backed Indian troops killed their own compatriots, those under Bose’s command, they also killed thousands of Japanese, considered some of the best fighters in World War II. The Japanese 15th Army, 85,000 strong at the start of the invasion, saw 53,000 troops dead or missing by the battle’s end. The defeat, one of the most devastating of the war for Japanese ground forces, helped the Indian military come into its own, historians believe, and helped spur nationalist movements in India and parts of Africa. “They demanded their liberation,” said the historian Kaushik Roy, a professor at Jadavpur University in Kolkata, India. “There was this feeling, ‘why should we fight to preserve colonialism?’” It took a few years after the war ended, but the nationalists prevailed. Britain dismantled its empire, and the colonial troops it used to prop up its rule across the world were rolled into the national armies of the independent states that formed out of the wreckage. India was granted independence in 1947.

Ну тут подтасовку сделали, жертвы Эстонии, Литвы и Латвии, а это в совокупности 700 000 человек и их всегда вспоминали в СССР, показали отдельно, хотя они были частью СССР, а жертвы Югославии, которой не существовало как страны на начало Второй мировой, показали вместе. Ну и если посмотрите на последнюю цифру, на общее количество погибших в этой войне, то становится очевидно, что это была операция по уничтожению китайского и советского народов, но в приличном обществе считается, что в первую очередь нужно говорить о Холокосте и истреблении евреев. у меня участвовали прадед по материнской линии и дед по линии отца. Прадед вызвался добровольцем, потом его перекинули в Японию, он по пути еще встретился с дедом на час на вокзале. К сожалению, он умер в 1947 от пневмонии. Дед дошел до Берлина, был ранен, но вернулся на фронт после выздоровления. Умер в 1995. Вечная благодарность и память!

Моего отца М. Бегалы призвали в 17лет (1942-45). 1945году в 20лет был командиром отделении развед отряда на передовой и в Праге получил второе тяжелое ранение, после госпиталя отправили домой в Кыргызстан. Про войну не любил говорить.

Мой дед Михаил, уроженец города Талас, ушел на войну в 41м. Был артиллеристом. Встретил 9 мая в Праге. Вернулся в родной город, где и проработал всю оставшуюся жизнь. Его родной брат, ушел на войну в 42м, погиб.

Soviet Union, 4 years in the war, it's about 16K deaths per day. It's hard to imagine how it is practically possible. It's a massive amount of dead. On the other side, it's weird how here in Europe, it is almost not discussed an enormous amount of deaths in the east, e.g. the Philippines and French Indochina.

Indonesia wasn't Indonesia, it was a Dutch colony called the Dutch East Indies. The only colonies you correctly identified were the Japanese ones, yet you didn't identify all the European colonies (instead you just pretended like they were the countries they are today, as if they were independent and not colonised by European countries). Whether deliberate or not, in a sense this video is propaganda, because it tries to do historical revisionism to downplay European colonialism, and portray it as if only Japan was a colonising country.

The Gravity guy is from India as well, so he didn't want to admit that India was a British colony as well, so he had to include India as its own country. And yeah, listing all those other countries by their modern names was absurd, none of them existed. There was also no Malaysia, it was called British Malaya etc. And the Philippines wasn't independent either, it was colonised and taken over by the Americans since the late 1800's, they took it off the Spanish who had ruled the Philippines for over 300 years. Clearly the guy who made this video is either uneducated, or he is deliberately pushing propaganda.

In other words, the main purpose of Japan's war was to protect the country. Even though they were war criminals, there is no doubt that they were trying to protect their country, so why should the Japanese be criticized for calling them heroes?

My dad was Canadian. He volunteered and was seriously injured outside Caan taking a German position. He had a plate in his skull but still returned to fight in Holland and Belgium. Every one here with stories about their own relatives fighting in WWII, make sure you pass those stories on through your families. These men (and women) deserve to be remembered.

Оба моих кровных деда погибли в ВОВ, мои родители их не успели узнать, маме было 2 годика, папе около 5, Дедушка, который заменил мне их обоих, прошёл всю войну, начиная с Финской, потом сразу попал на Великую Отечественную, а закончил на Дальнем Востоке. Он прожил до 1986г, воспитал и приёмных, и кровных детей не делая различий. И точно, был самым лучшим дедом в мире❤

I am shocked at some of these numbers, and especially from countries that I had no idea participated enough to have suffered such losses. Incredible! This is why it’s good to hear about a historical event told by different nationalities. It opens your eyes when you realize how little of the picture we’re being taught in schools.

They say it happens in 80 year cycles on average because of the last living people with the memory's have left us and they can't stress enough, not to beat that drum when we have no idea the torment and dread. Half the reason the countries had so many willing fighters was so that they could have a full meal rather than starve. That there, is an absolute tragedy.

Мой дед был артиллеристом, командиром орудия. 7мая 1945 точным ударом обезвредил пулемётный расчёт противника, который сдерживал продвижение наших войск в каком то городе в Польше. За это ему дали медаль "За отвагу". Эта надпись о награждении сохранена в архивах нашей Родины навечно. Дед дожил до 84 лет. Скончался в 1999 году от рака. К сожалению он очень много курил и от этого у него был рак желудка. К счастью я успел его увидеть за полгода до смерти и показал ему своего сына. Мы жили далеко друг от друга. Он был на Кубани, а я в Екатеринбурге. Дед был ранен и после войны прожил с осколком под сердцем. Его сначала не решались достать, а потом дед не захотел. Вечная память нашим дедам и всем кто принёс эту победу!!!

We are taught that the battle loses that Germany faced in their push to invade the Soviet Union was a turning point in the war, and that even the farmers of the Soviet Union fought like soldiers to repel the German invasion.

оба моих деда прошли и войну с немцами и с японией. И оба пришли домой в 1946г. Думаю - это редкая удача - остаться в живых после 5 лет войны. Контузии и легкие ранения были, что потом сказалось на здоровье. Один умер в 76 лет, в 1986г, другой в 82 года, в 2000-х. Про войну рассказывать не любили оба. Когда на 9 мая выпивали за Победу, один плакал, другой - добавлял еще несколько стопок и буянил (контузия так и не отпустила).

My dad s first conflict was in North Africa, sent straight there after training. He fought all five battles at El Alamein andSicily and Italy he had shrapnel in his calf muscle all his life. He lost a brother who was in the Royal Navy and many friends. He never hated the Germans. As someone said it is the young and civilians who pay the price of war. These politicians never fight, too cowardly. Everyone suffers in war.

I was waiting for my country Malaysia. When the amount of death has reached 100 000, i thought maybe the death rate in my country is not so high to be put. Then, there it is, with 695000 death. I know from history those times are terrible moments for our country but I have never imagined that number. It’s so devastating

My grandfather was an ammunition carrier. He was taking weapons and ammunition to the front lines in Stalingrad. he was fighting on frontlines. When he replaced his comrades on frontlines Nazi bomber plane “stuka” bombed where my grandfather was and he lost his leg immediately. luckily he survived, he was taken to hospital by his friends where they cut his other leg with a saw due to the infection. He survived the war. after the war ended he returned back to his village but all of his friends and family members were dead and the village was empty. He was 22.

Мой дедушка, чудом выживший после двух ранений в ВОВ рассказывал что они шли воевать с фашистами, потому что если бы они этого не сделали, то всех бы убили звери гитлеровцы, до всех бы добрались и тогда мы внуки бы не родились. Объяснял мне: "так как твою бабушку бы не пощадили фашисты то и мамы с папой тоже бы не было"! Такое простое и страшное объяснение той войны... Вечная память нашим великим предкам, благодаря которым мы можем жить!

Один мой дед провёл на войнах 6 лет, начинал ещё с 1939 в Маньчжурии был пехотинцем, дошёл пешком до Берлина, прожил 82 года, другой 8 лет в артилерии, с 1938, придя с войны построил с нуля 2 фермерских, колхоза, но умер от простуды в 54 года.

И это еще не рассекретили данные о ВОВ, который Вова засекретил до 2040 года, если мы когда нибудь узнаем что в них, думаю мнение еще больше поменяется об этой войне.

I hope someday to visit Russia, especially Moscow and Saint-Petersburg. One of the reasons I want to visit, it's because I want to kiss the hands of the very few remaining Soviert heroes who fought for freedom and destroyed the Nazi monster. Eternal Glory to all the brave Soviet military (men & women) and civilians. What a horrific, tremendously sad loss!! And the old leaders of the Allied Powers did talk to Hitler and tried to appease him. Брат моей бабушки погиб в возрасте 21 года в тяжелейшем бою под блокадным Ленинградом. Накануне там на пятачке в несколько километров. почти целиком погибла дивизия -- 11 тысяч человек. В прощальном письме он просит детей слушаться маму и пишет, что если суждено ему погибнуть, то смертью храбрых, за освобождение отечества. Он знал, что скорее всего идёт на смерть. На фронте с 18 лет. Его двоюродный брат тогда же и там же служил авиамехаником, вернулся с войны в 45-м. Мы помним.

Моего деда не взяли на фронт, трижды отклоняли его прошение, так как он был на тот момент хорошим специалистом (он был тракторист-механизатор). На третий раз ему дали бронь со словами, что если и он уйдёт, некому будет заниматься сельским хозяйством и нечем будет кормить солдат. После этого он в своём колхозе открыл школу трактористов, где обучал подростков и женщин пахать, сеять и убирать урожай. Со своими ребятами они постоянно перевыполняли планы. После войны ему было стыдно смотреть в глаза ветеранам, родителям и вдовам погибших на той страшной войне, считал себя трусом. Хотя никто в деревне его таковым не считал, наоборот, все прекрасно видели, как он работал. Поэтому для меня чтить память тыловиков не менее важно, как и фронтовиков.

Брат моего деда был летчиком, считается безвести пропавшим и по сей день звали его Джафар, воевал он за СССР был этническим Иранцем и выходцем из Узбекистана и по сей день дед рассказывает как ему нечего было есть во время войны он был тогда подростком говорит что все уходило на войну а кормился он черепахами и тутовником , для справки из Узбекистана было мобилизовано больше 1 500 000 миллиона человек и вернулось всеголишь 500 000, 9 мая у нас день памяти и почестей вечная память дедам , деду 94 в этом году будет...

Нашей семье повезло: один дед сражался с Японией, другой дошел до Берлина, оба артиллеристы, оба вернулись живыми, хотя и израненными, в 1945 году. Всем нашим дедам вечная память. Помним их подвиг и передадим эту память дальше.

My Grandfather served in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII.. He drove the Higgins Boats (LCVP) during the Normandy invasion. He just turned 101 years old back in December. A few weeks back he fell and broke some bones; is in the hospital because of this. He's in pretty rough shape and not sure he will live much longer. On top of this, he has Alzheimer's, so he's confused and agitated most of the time. If you can pray for him, I'd appreciate it 🙏

Like Switzerland. We were never involved in the conflicts but there were some incidents. US bombers accidentally dropped bombs on northern cities due to navigational errors.

Would have been interesting to have the percentage of its population too. For example, Newfoundland's 1200, was probably 1-2% percent of the islands population. It was less than 100k I believe.
If there was a second percentage number related to the population number that would really open up everyone's eyes. Some countries who had smaller losses had a very high percentage of the male population die in this war. Sadly wars are a strange form of savage population control.
I believe the country that had the highest percentage of its population killed was Poland (I thinks it was 20%). In comparison the UK lost 1.0% of its population and the USA 0.25%

Human history is riddled with wars. The rich instigate wars, the poor fight and die. Nothing will ever changed as long as humans exist. So much for humans being an intelligent species. WW1 was labelled as the war, to end all wars. 20 years later, we have WWII. We will never learn. Politicians start wars, none fight wars. Maybe they should finish what they started. The means of achieving the proposed measures were later enshrined in the Government of India Act, 1919. WW2 Indians were angry when Britain, which ruled them, declared war on Nazi Germany in 1939 and exploited their resources to support the conflict. Some Indians, such as upper-caste urbanites, were loyal to the raj - British rule over India - and fought enthusiastically for the Allies, but the vast majority volunteered because they were offered land, a stable salary and steady meals. Others joined to refine their technical or engineering skills as the military modernized over the course of the war, allowing them to gain experience with more complicated machinery as it was introduced. In August 1941, Prime Minister Winston Churchill and President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed what became known as the Atlantic Charter, a new vision for the postwar world, highlighting the right of all people to self-determination. Though the United States had not yet entered the war as a combatant, it was supplying military hardware to Britain and created the document as a justification for its support to the Allies, laying out its anti-fascist hopes for the world. Britain was desperate to bind itself to the United States and persuade it the join the war, and Churchill begrudgingly signed the statement, although it challenged the very foundation of the empire. The Atlantic Charter spurred hopes of independence among the British colonies. But a month after the charter was signed, Churchill clarified that the right to self-determination outlined in the document applied only to countries under German occupation. The damage, however, was already done. In 1942, Mohandas K. Gandhi began his Quit India movement, demanding the end of British rule, galvanizing Indians against British colonial forces and threatening the economic and natural resources London needed to continue fighting. A star of the Indian independence movement, Subhas Chandra Bose, split with Gandhi’s nonviolent campaign and aligned himself with the Axis powers, who he believed would empower him to raise an army and win India’s autonomy. Bose toured the prison camps of Europe and Asia, building a force by recruiting Indian expatriates and Indian prisoners of war. Bose’s military, the Indian National Army, was a roughly 40,000-strong force. By 1943, he established the Azad Hind, or the provisional government of India in exile, in Japanese-occupied Singapore and declared war on the Allied powers. Bose’s ultimate goal was to invade India and liberate it from the British. Once the I.N.A. and the Axis invaded, Bose bet, Indians would rise up en masse. The British forbade their media from reporting on the rogue force, worried it would spur Indian troop defections. In March 1944, Bose had his chance to shatter British rule. The Japanese military, with the support of the I.N.A., launched Operation U-Go, a campaign to invade northeast India from Burma and smash a buildup of Allied forces in the area. If the Japanese and the I.N.A. prevailed, they could extract India’s resources to revitalize their war effort, perhaps prolonging the war, and use India’s strategic ports to cut off Allied supply lines spanning from East to West. But they faced stiff resistance from Allied forces, which were overwhelmingly nonwhite - about 70 percent of the fighting force was from India and to a lesser extent, African colonies. (British forces were reluctant to serve in India, preferring the glamour of the European front lines.) The fight, known as the Battle of Kohima and Imphal, produced some of the worst bloodshed of the war in Asia. As Britain-backed Indian troops killed their own compatriots, those under Bose’s command, they also killed thousands of Japanese, considered some of the best fighters in World War II. The Japanese 15th Army, 85,000 strong at the start of the invasion, saw 53,000 troops dead or missing by the battle’s end. The defeat, one of the most devastating of the war for Japanese ground forces, helped the Indian military come into its own, historians believe, and helped spur nationalist movements in India and parts of Africa. “They demanded their liberation,” said the historian Kaushik Roy, a professor at Jadavpur University in Kolkata, India. “There was this feeling, ‘why should we fight to preserve colonialism?’” It took a few years after the war ended, but the nationalists prevailed. Britain dismantled its empire, and the colonial troops it used to prop up its rule across the world were rolled into the national armies of the independent states that formed out of the wreckage. India was granted independence in 1947.

К сожалению, он умер в 1947 от пневмонии. Дед дошел до Берлина, был ранен, но вернулся на фронт после выздоровления. Умер в 1995. Вечная благодарность и память!

Моего отца М. Бегалы призвали в 17лет (1942-45). 1945году в 20лет был командиром отделении развед отряда на передовой и в Праге получил второе тяжелое ранение, после госпиталя отправили домой в Кыргызстан. Про войну не любил говорить.
А мой дед много рассказывал про войну. Как фрица с голой жопой, ночью через линию фронта на себе тащил, вообще все угорали над его рассказом.

Мой дед Михаил, уроженец города Талас, ушел на войну в 41м. Был артиллеристом. Встретил 9 мая в Праге. Вернулся в родной город, где и проработал всю оставшуюся жизнь. Его родной брат, ушел на войну в 42м, погиб.

The only colonies you correctly identified were the Japanese ones, yet you didn't identify all the European colonies (instead you just pretended like they were the countries they are today, as if they were independent and not colonised by European countries). Whether deliberate or not, in a sense this video is propaganda, because it tries to do historical revisionism to downplay European colonialism, and portray it as if only Japan was a colonising country.
The Gravity guy is from India as well, so he didn't want to admit that India was a British colony as well, so he had to include India as its own country. And yeah, listing all those other countries by their modern names was absurd, none of them existed. There was also no Malaysia, it was called British Malaya etc. And the Philippines wasn't independent either, it was colonised and taken over by the Americans since the late 1800's, they took it off the Spanish who had ruled the Philippines for over 300 years. My dad was Canadian. He volunteered and was seriously injured outside Caan taking a German position. He had a plate in his skull but still returned to fight in Holland and Belgium. Every one here with stories about their own relatives fighting in WWII, make sure you pass those stories on through your families. These men (and women) deserve to be remembered.

I am shocked at some of these numbers, and especially from countries that I had no idea participated enough to have suffered such losses. Incredible! This is why it’s good to hear about a historical event told by different nationalities. It opens your eyes when you realize how little of the picture we’re being taught in schools.

Мой дед был артиллеристом, командиром орудия. 7мая 1945 точным ударом обезвредил пулемётный расчёт противника, который сдерживал продвижение наших войск в каком то городе в Польше. За это ему дали медаль "За отвагу". Эта надпись о награждении сохранена в архивах нашей Родины навечно. Дед дожил до 84 лет. Скончался в 1999 году от рака. К сожалению он очень много курил и от этого у него был рак желудка. К счастью я успел его увидеть за полгода до смерти и показал ему своего сына. Мы жили далеко друг от друга. Он был на Кубани, а я в Екатеринбурге. Дед был ранен и после войны прожил с осколком под сердцем. Его сначала не решались достать, а потом дед не захотел. Вечная память нашим дедам и всем кто принёс эту победу!!!

We are taught that the battle loses that Germany faced in their push to invade the Soviet Union was a turning point in the war, and that even the farmers of the Soviet Union fought like soldiers to repel the German invasion.

Когда на 9 мая выпивали за Победу, один плакал, другой - добавлял еще несколько стопок и буянил (контузия так и не отпустила).

I have no words to describe how I feel after watching this.
My dad s first conflict was in North Africa, sent straight there after training. He fought all five battles at El Alamein andSicily and Italy he had shrapnel in his calf muscle all his life. He lost a brother who was in the Royal Navy and many friends. He never hated the Germans. As someone said it is the young and civilians who pay the price of war. These politicians never fight, too cowardly. Everyone suffers in war.

My grandfather was an ammunition carrier. He was taking weapons and ammunition to the front lines in Stalingrad. he was fighting on frontlines. When he replaced his comrades on frontlines Nazi bomber plane “stuka” bombed where my grandfather was and he lost his leg immediately. luckily he survived, he was taken to hospital by his friends where they cut his other leg with a saw due to the infection. He survived the war. after the war ended he returned back to his village but all of his friends and family members were dead and the village was empty. He was 22.

Yes, the video presenter should have shown percentage of population also. And a some reasons why each country had the causalities; some deaths were not directly related to fighting, some starved , some were executed. etc

Интересно было бы увидеть сколько людей по странам всего на Земле, в подобных соотношениях с домами, поездами или еще чем то, что реально представить в голове и соотнести это наглядно на подобной симуляции. Один мой дед провёл на войнах 6 лет, начинал ещё с 1939 в Маньчжурии был пехотинцем, дошёл пешком до Берлина, прожил 82 года, другой 8 лет в артилерии, с 1938, придя с войны построил с нуля 2 фермерских, колхоза, но умер от простуды в 54 года.
Для нас это точно Пиррова победа сродни поражению, как и с Наполеоном, который сжег Москву, а в итоге франция даже контрибуцию не платила. И это еще не рассекретили данные о ВОВ, который Вова засекретил до 2040 года, если мы когда нибудь узнаем что в них, думаю мнение еще больше поменяется об этой войне.

I hope someday to visit Russia, especially Moscow and Saint-Petersburg.
