What stadiums will you visit if the tournament takes place in Great Britain and Ireland?
hopefully all
Wembley for the final (IF ENGLAND PLAY)
If Croke park is actually made available for the Euros, I have to get a ticket! Hopefully they allow the full capacity to be used as opposed to just the seated 😅
all of them cos i was born and live in england
Anfield would make sense if they use both the stadiums in Liverpool and Manchester to help travelling fans
Tallaght stadium is a UEFA 4 category stadium. Hurling and Gaelic are far older sports then most sports you mentioned probably even older than all of them.
Age isn't the same as relevance. Nothing wrong with Hurling but its not known outside of Ireland
@@Me-ui1zy The guy in the video made reference to them saying they offered nothing that the world hadn't already seen before, think Darren's point was that they were around long before and of those other sports that were mentioned.
Even though I'm English I enjoy these sports ,not that i get to see them often unfortunately.
@@Me-ui1zy then why are there GAA clubs on every continent ?
When Croke Park is full on All Ireland final day it is has the best atmosphere u can get
Croke park is a monster, wonder what the capacity would be if the smaller end was the same as the rest.
I'd say 100,000 or more
Hill 16 holds 13,000 so minus this from 82,500 = 69,500 plus the capacity of the Davin Stand (27,000) = 96,500. However this would only be possible if the railway line was built to run through an underground tunnel but even at that there is still not enough space or land to mirror the Davin Stand so the capacity would be less than 96,500. Nonetheless our Páirc an Crocaigh is a special place ☺️
They would be albe to complete a full construction of croker like the rest, they'd incorporate the train tracks behind hill 16, just like the aviva stadium. It would be over 100k... but thats a pipe dream, hill 16 is left like that on purpose. I find it very hard for the GAA to build up hill 16
@@dazzer273 isn't their houses there that would need to be demolished too?

No idea where you got 183,000 for Hampden. The record attendance is 149,547 in 1947 for a Scotland v England match.
183,388 was the capacity but the SFA were only allowed to sell 150000 tickets.
@@endagriffin2530 That's sort-of true, but that figure presumed standing being allowed on the walkways, which would never have been permitted (even in those days). As you say, the highest number of tickets they were ever allowed to sell was 150,000. I grew up a 5 minute walk from Hampden, and when I was a kid the capacity was 74,000 (pre-Hillsborough). The ground was barely smaller then than in the heyday of the 1930s-1960s, so I can't imagine how cramped it must have been with so many people in it.
That makes you a hell of a lot more qualified than me so 🤣 That was it though back before Hillsborough..squeeze them in anywhere and everywhere. Was never lucky enough to see it in person, just on TV but them walls of terracing were a behemoth. They'd intimidate you even when empty. One thing I will say though, I do understand the need for all seaters from a safety point of view, but there was a certain atmosphere from a terrace that you can't get in an all seated stand and that's been lost forever.
2:00 I hate it when people outside of Ireland try to compare hurling to other sports, I get that it's necessary for viewers to understand it, but it cannot be compared to any other sports and it feels almost disrespectful to do so as it is thousands of years older than all the sports you mentioned. Good video though 👍
Hurling is similar enough to shinty that they can play a combined code. Not that this helps anyone beyond Scotland...

Villa Park will be a fab venue it is one the most memorable to English fans and visitors.❤ 😂.
England did an otherworldly job with hosting Euro 2020 games. There was no violence or xenophobia towards foreign fans, no attacks, no near-death experiences; security was adequate; hosts were extremely welcoming and graceful in defeat even as England lost the final. UEFA's President can be sure that with this bid we will see more of the same in 2028. And do not doubt for a second that Ireland, NI, Wales and Scotland will host a lot of games thanks to the "collaborative" nature of the bid. There is no way a magnanimous co-host like England would want to keep most of the action for itself and leave just scraps for everybody else.
So what's your desired ratio? You angry, bitter little cunt! 3 stadiums for Scotland, 3 for Ireland, 2 for Wales, 1 each for N.Ireland and England?
Hurling is the fastest field sport , one of the toughest, and extremely hard to master . It is without doubt the greatest sport that is not known world wide .

@@colors6692 ?
The fastest? You mean the ball travels faster, not the players? In that case Clay pidgeon shooting is the fastest sport in the world. It's quite boring to watch as each team exchanges long range scores for most of the time,
Old Trafford needs major upgrades before it hosts any European Championship matches. It's probably the stadium in the worst condition in the Premier League.
I hear the media having a go at OT... but they forget that when it comes to viewing lines Old Trafford is the best stadium anywhere. The stands are close to the pitch and steep on 3 sides. The shallow bottom tiers at Arsenal, the Council House and West Ham give dreadful views. The roof at OT is a disgrace and needs sorting and it would be great to build up the South Stand. Worst condition in the Premier League? Sellhurst Park? Elland Road? Fulham? What a mess Wolves have + all the boring boxes at Southampton and Leicester..... Yeah OT is in the worst condition!
I can’t disagree, the same with Camp nou in Barcelona, those saying those stadiums are « amazing » probably never were there, yes they are historical but in really poor conditions
Yes it’s falling apart , the roof leaks . It wants tearing down .
Emirates? 🤔
@@timhanser1943 the roof needs taking off. Put a San Siro style thing on top or similar to what Real Madrid are doing. Add another tier to the South stand and it would be perfect. KStand and the Stretford end are full of local hardcore fans and a replacement stadium would just be for the tourists. Don't throw the baby out with the bath water. I've been going to OT for 35years and hundreds of grounds around Europe and other than the roof - OT is the best!
These 14 stadiums are the long-list submitted to UEFA in November 2022; the final list of 10 stadia will be submitted in April 2023. There will only be one in Manchester and Dublin and at most two in London, so that removes three. The fourth is less clear.
Probably stadium of light will be out id say Edit: after reading the comments about the stadium in Belfast not being completed in time its probably going to be Belfast, or maybe the other dublin stadium

Old Trafford and Etihad are technically not in the same city/town. They'll use both stadiums.
Pretty sure Wembley held the record for highest attendance, over 200,000 at the white horse FA Cup Final, in what was 1925?
1923. Official attendance was 126,047 but it's widely considered that there were way more than that there. London Underground sold more than 240,000 tickets to Wembley that day and Police estimates put the crowd nearer 300,000.
Queen's park doesn't play at Hampden park anymore
If they get promoted this season into the SPFL, they will most probably have to go back there to accommodate large attendances.
@@runawayplane6166 That's pure conjecture at this point. There's no agreement in place with the SFA and they haven't begun talking yet. It might seem mad to go anywhere else, but the Queen's Park board have been making strange decisions lately. London could easily host the Euros on its own. Just need to build an extra 1000 hotels.
just need an extra 1,000 hotels?!
Extra 1000 hotels? Could probably just about manage already with accommodation
After what happened in 2020 there is absolutely no way UEFA would allow the English FA run any football tournament in England anymore, the cocked it up badly and came bloody close to a Hillsborough or Heysle Stadium disaster in July 2021...that is why Scotland, Wales and Ireland are involved in 2028...
What, it wasn’t anything that bad 😭 just a poor amount of security. But we had the same with the champions league last year in Paris it happens quite often. At least English fans don’t in general attack their own players like half the fans in Europe 😂🤦♂️ and it’s a united bid because they’re more popular Ron and more likely to win. They want Scotland, wales, or there Ireland and Ireland to host games but they can’t do it on their own, not even as a 4, they need the facilities England has to have a genuine bid
If the RFU allowed Twickenham to be used then you could have Twickenham, Wembley, the Emirates, Tottenham Stadium, an upgraded Stamford Bridge, the London Stadium, an upgraded Selhurst Park, an upgraded Valley, an upgraded Vicarage Road (I know, I know, it's technically outside Greater London) and an upgraded Fuck Park - that's 10 stadiums; enough to host a World Cup.
I dont want England to have this because the euro final was already played at the 2020 or 2021 euros and its really like not overrated but over showed if you know what i mean which i dislike.
Hopefully this will get accepted. I don't know why they won't use Anfield. The place is built for atmosphere.
Pitch dimensions are too small for modern requirements.
@@laurencec09 the pitch is in line with FIFA regulations. As are all the pitches in the premier league
I would recommend games at The Principality (Millennium) Stadium in Cardiff for anyone thinking far in advance where they might want to go - it's widely considered the best atmosphere of any rugby stadium in the world due to both the roof (acoustics); excessive pyrotechnics, and being in the city centre - feels like the whole of South Wales has turned up for matchday drinking! 7 minute walk from Cardiff Central train station too! Cardiff Airport isn't super close, but the transport links are good. Certainly Cardiff is the only place I'd go to for a matchday just to soak up the atmosphere in the city (unless Ireland was playing at Croke or Scotland in Glasgow - doesn't matter who's playing in Cardiff, though on a Wales day it will beat em all!) (I hope we get an Ireland Wales game at Croke or Principality!)
Problem is Wales isn't guaranteed a spot. UEFA rules dictate only 2 host countries are guaranteed automatic qualification. So yeah it would be nice for Cardiff to host matches, but would be a bit unfair if our national team isn't taking part.

Very doubtful casement park in belfast will be ready,it needs to have construction start no later than the summer which is unlikely due to ongoing political logjam.Very much doubt the political impasse will be solved by the summer since its now nearly april.Even if it is built there still could be issues, because it will have a standing section that will need to converted to seating and from what i read UEFA have there doubts as to the feasibility of that.
You can put in bolt in seats and remove them after and reinstall crush barriers. Happens in the Bundesliga when they have European games.
You can, but it hugely reduces capacity - eg Dortmund will be reduced from 81k to 66k for Euro 2024. If they did that at the planned Casement Park it would probably pull capacity below the minimum 30k threshold. In any case, unless the UK government step in and promise to underwrite it, I don't think it's going to be built.
@@gordon1545 It's only one goal end that is going to be terraced, the rest is seated so I think it would still be 30k+ even if you had bolt in seating. I think if the UK+IRL get it it'll happen regardless of the issues in Stormont, hosting the event is worth far too much and it would be politically very damaging for the DUP to lose such an opportunity simply for sectarian reasons.
It'll most likely be in Windsor Park if anything.
Croke Park has a standing section too. It doesn't take 4 years to build a Stadium even in a country that refuses to govern itself because they cant stand the idea of a republican first minister.
Aviva in Dublin is shit for away fans with small capacity behind the one goal
it is a shit stadium
I have never heard of Casement Park before.
Ok...
It's virtually derelict. It's unlikely it, or any other stadium in Northern Ireland will be used. A think tank that performed a feasibility study in 2008 into the possibility of Belfast hosting the commonwealth games stated that "It would be easier to stage it on the moon, so difficult is it to get the necessary mechanisms of general government in Northern Ireland to work properly." Northern Ireland will be included in the bidding process but if successful, any suggestion of a venue in the province will be shelved as just quite simply not being worth the headaches.
Wouldn't they use Windsor Park?
@@thefivepoints It's too small. Only holds 14,000.

Croke Park wont be used. Any Euro tournament will run through the Provisional and All Ireland seasons for both Gaelic and Hurling so they’d never allow it.

Ibrox and Celtic park ?
England great venues... 1-Wembley 2-emirates (arsenal ) 3-Hotspur stadium 4-Trafford 5-ethihad... 6-st James park...
Those great stadiums will do the tournament proud and even group games such as Finland v Austria will be sure to be capacity or near capacity. Hopefully a song as good as Three Lions will be released as well.
Where's the Emirates Stadium of Arsenal in London ?!
Why can’t they just expand the amount of host stadiums like we should be using like 10 stadiums which would include Old Trafford, Stamford Bridge, Emirates Stadium, Celtic Park, Ibrox Stadium, Anfield, St Mary’s Stadium, City Ground (Nottingham), King Power Staduim, London (Olympic) Stadium, Windsor Park, as well as Cork and Galway! So why not? Like come on! If the Euros is hosted all over the U.K. and Ireland then you would have a whole nation engaged in the tournament rather than just 4 cities. Encourage growth in places that need it- I would include north Wales on here as well but it would have to be Bangor, Aberystwyth or TNS (and they’re in Shropshire not Wales and they all would need huge infrastructure renovations- maybe having Swansea and Cardiff would have been good but they you’re limiting growth to south Wales). Why limit the amount of stadiums when we will have enough games?
The fact murrayfield is not being used is disgusting. The same capacity as Old Trafford, but a much better stadium in Scotland’s capital, is totally unacceptable
The Principality Stadium has never hosted a UEFA Cup final, contrary to what's claimed here.
It didn't host a UEFA cup final but it did host the 2017 Champions League Final
The Cardiff City Stadium held the 2014 UEFA Super Cup, they may have got mixed up in their research
Queen's Park FC no longer use Hampden Park as their home ground. They have been playing at Lesser Hampden next door since it got upgraded, but I believe they're playing at another ground while work gets done at Lesser Hampden, as their fixture schedule conflicts with domestic Cup games etc.
They should squeeze renovated Anfield, Emirates Stadium, and Chelsea home field (if the new stadium is built) in as well

St James Park Newcastle is a bit unfortunate when it comes to looking at expansion. The sides where you see the impressive cantilever roof are where it's unrestricted but the other two sides have barely any room for expansion unless you were somehow able to move the pitch and therefore the whole ground in a particular direction and in doing so creating the additional space required for redevelopment.
I would love to see a whole new stadium for Newcastle Utd.
They cant develop the east stand due to the terraced street behind it which are listed buildings and the cant develop the gallowgate end as under neath is a underground station. Thats why the stadium is so lopsided. They have tried building a new stadium from scratch but environmentalists always stop them.
London stadium needs some sort of technological upgrade that will allow the stands to move properly close to the pitch. The issue is currently the upper stands on one side that when the lower one's move forward, have this wierd looking gap created. It kills the atmosphere and it just looks awful.
@JimBob the problem isn't the running track pal. I don't mind it at all. In fact I'd rather they keep it like that rather than what they're doing now. As the video said, they bring the lower tiers on three stands forward to be closer to the pitch. The issue I'm talking about is that when those lower tiers get pushed forward, for those three stands between the upper and lower tiers there's so much free space. The two tiers aren't continuous like anywhere normal stadium, or how it would be if they kept the track. It looks like crap and kills the atmosphere. Only the east stand has the correct shape since its continuous from upper to lower tier.
@JimBob I'm not a West Ham fan, but that empty space you mentioned isn't strong to hold enough ppl on it. Also let's say it could hold ppl, it's a flat surface. Ppl have to jump over each other to see what's going on on the pitch. There's a reason stadium tiers are angled bro. Also the Frankfurt fans are there for one match. If they had to play there as a home team every time, I'm not sure they'd be very happy.
@Jimbob960yeah we don’t need that crap mate we want to watch football not have silly pyros 👍
@Jimbob960 not silence. But I don’t want ridiculous flags and steam blocking my view during the game. Before the game sure, but other than the chants English football is very much a spectator sport, not making it look a show in the stands and not watching properly 👍
@JimBob no Jim it doesn't look great it looks awful. Rome's stadium is awful too. Any stadium with a running track is not a football stadium. London stadium is an athletics stadium made to look like a football stadium but not a very good job done of it. Temporary lower tiers and miles from the pitch. Its a joke.

That stand is called the Hill 16, its a very historic stand in Ireland. I doubt they'd ever consider putting a roof over it as it would cause uproar
There's a train track right behind Hill 16. You can often see trains pass by on match days. It would require major work to make any changes to that area. Also Hill 16 is the most famous part of the ground. Any plans to turn it into a covered seating area would cause uproar
No thanks. The Hill is perfect how it is now.
Croke park is an irish success story and home to amateur sports thats unique to Ireland, adjusting the stadium to suit outsiders is a non runner, hill 16 is was and always will be historic for many reasons unknown to most people outside the country, it's a much bigger field in length and width to suit gaelic sports, the hill was built from the rubble of 1916 when the brits blew up o connell Street, visit the museum and you'll see that it's not just a sports ground, it has many historical values.
@@Kenny-zn6dl The 1916 rubble thing is a myth, It was originally called hill 60 to honour members of the Connaught Rangers who died in a battle in Gallipoli. It didn't become Hill 16 until the 30s. It was completely demolished and rebuilt in 1988 and again in 2005.

How about were Sheffield Wednesday or Nottingham forest play they have great traditional stadiums! Please not the crappy stadium were west ham play's! Also a lot of the newer stadiums are all starting to look the same! Goodison park will be a big loss when it is gone, love that stadium as well!
Hillsborough is pretty decrepit and would need half demolishing first.
Why not Windsor Park for Northern Ireland
Only holds around 18k. If they drew a top tier nation like France or Germany in a group, the ticket allocation would be tiny and problematic financially I'd imagine.
جيد
Here I hoped Ireland might build a new stadium somewhere outside Dublin. It would be fitting for Ireland to be one of the few countries to host a major competition a not build a single new stadium.
VILLA PARK CAPACITY WILL BE IN EXCESS OF 50 THOUSAND BY 2025. 🏴🇬🇧
True from Dublin The Republic Of Ireland 🇮🇪🇪🇺
Is this a robot voice?
London has enough stadiums on it's own to host the Euros! What do we need the rest of the country and an entirely different country for?
hello thick Londoner..it's a joint thing between the British Isles which to your amazement stretches further than Watford.

Probably because there are 10 million people in London but 50 million in the rest of the country.
Stadium in Thurles has a decent capacity as far as I know... around 35,000 so maybe that could work too
It's mostly standing though, if it was an all seater it would be less then 35k, I know because I've been there loads of times being an Irish man and gaa fan
And it goes up to 45k
It’s 45,000, same in Limerick and Cork as well
Has the UK and Ireland’s candidacy been confirmed already?
I hope not 🤞
@@noodlyappendage6729 why not? both countries are well equipped.
@@Jbf27 Out of the two only the UK is well equipped. If the the Republic of Ireland (RoI) made a bid on their own they would fail because they don’t have the capacity. The UK does have the capacity. The RoI is constantly riding on the UK’s coat tails and I’m fed up of it. The UK protects their sea space and airspace because they don’t want to pay for it themselves. The UK has had to create a barrier within itself which affects our internal trade because the RoI refuses to do its own checks. And the RoI has been extremely unhelpful to the UK since we voted to leave the EU. They left the UK over 100 years ago yet they want us to do everything for them while telling us how bad we are.
@@noodlyappendage6729 well, it’s pretty expensive to organize an event such as a word cup, euro cup or Olympic Games, too much public resources spent on them, and most of revenues are taken by outsiders like FIFA (wc).
@@Jbf27 again expensive for the RoI. And they don’t have the capacity. It’s not expensive for the UK. We’ve taken on the Commonwealth Games, the World Cup and the Olympics on more then one occasion. It’s what we do.
2:00 hurling is over 3000 years old, them other stick sports are similar to hurley and onto the opposite... Gaelic football is old as f-ck too, and older than soccer, so soccer would be the hybrid of Gaelic football...
Nobody gives a shit out side Ireland
Stamford bridge?
shitford bridge 😂
too small
@@daavide new stadium Chelsea?
@@daavide Casement Park is in the bid, the capacity will be 34,578
There are better stadiums in London
Hampden is such a dump, i really hope it gets heavily invested into if we win the bid
The very least they could do is change the seating. Looks so dated and tacky.
@@toph8298 yeah tbh it’s a bit of an embarrassment of a national stadium. Murrayfield is so much better.
@@toph8298 The layout is dated and awful... Needs a complete rebuild with the stands closer to the pitch.
you made a mistake when you said "great britain" instead of united kingdom
Where is Anfield? It will has 60,000 seats
Will has 60,000 seats? Will or has🤔 On another note Bramley Moore will be far superior by then and so will Everton. The rocky road of Everton will clear up soon into walkable clear pathway. Those two stands on each wing at Bramley Moore have removable roof sections as they are supported by the trusses at each end. Expansion from 52,888 to 65,000 can be done within 18 months if needed as the foundations have already been piledriven. And the side/wing roofing they are now installing is removable. Better location and a better stadium than Anfield.
The Pitch doesn't meet EUFA regulation size... Too small
how come they not use arsenal staduim
Celtic Park, Ibrox?
You can only have one stadium per city, unless the city is really huge.

Exactly! They left the UK over 100 years ago!! Northern Ireland yes but not the RoI.
@@noodlyappendage6729 They are not even playing at Belfasts Windsor park, choosing some gaelic football ground instead. Hopefully the bid fails miserably.
@@tendrosstoodross2976 Terrible. They’ll prob use a ground named after a terrorist.

GLASGOW 🏴
Surely having hosted it in England recently that dual UK Ireland bid has less chances of success as the last euro will be too close?
2020 wasn't officially hosted in UK. It was cross Europe
This bid stinks with its gaelic football grounds, hopefully it fails.
@@tendrosstoodross2976I'm from Dublin 🇮🇪🇪🇺 why?
Anfield? Emirates Stadium? Celtic Park? Ibrox? Stamford Bridge?
Celtic Park and Ibrox are out because Glasgow couldn't have more than one stadium and it would definitely be Hampden. Similar issues for the other grounds you mention - Stamford Bridge is nowhere near big enough to be one of the likely maximum two grounds in London. Emirates won't beat London Stadium or new White Hart Lane. And Anfield's pitch isn't big enough anyway.
@@gordon1545 ah, thanks for the info
Ibrox & Celtic park are both antiquated dumps.
Psst Don’t tell anybody, but the Tottenham Stadium is really a NFL stadium.
Yeah 2 games a year makes it NFL.
Hello, there is a lot of development in Saudi football. I hope you will talk about it. There are stadiums that will be built for the 2027 Asian Cup, as well as stadiums for clubs such as Al-Ettifaq Club and Al-Shabab Club, which will be opened next season.
Won’t be hosted in Croke Park, it’s a part of the GAA which has any foreign sports banned from being played in it. The only time it happened was in 2006 when aviva was getting a rebrand and a Ireland vs England rugby match had no where to go, but they wouldn’t host it again because some people will feel offended by it and there could be some levels of violence
GAA has already agreed to have Croke Park and Casement Park included in the bid. The "ban" is pretty much old hat now. Pairc Ui Caoimh hosted Munster V South Africa Select last year. Not to mention the Liam Miller testimonial in 2018.
Northern Ireland's host ground is going to be a GAA ground named after a martyred Irish Republican? 🤣🤣🤣
no Stamford Bridge & Emirates Stadium? way better than Sunderland & Aston Villa Stadium
There are already 2 London stadiums. This is the UK Euro tournament not just London.
