    • As the white ex-wife of an first gen American Equadorian, my condolences on your breakups and send good vibes to each of you for healing! This is very relatable for me because Ecuadorian MIL had sisters who could shade me just as well as Mami. Mami’s sisters ALL married white men because (direct from their mouths) Spanish men were pigs. I denied and scolded them for being racist (against their own kind). However, my wife was born and raised in Spain where her dad worked for 20 years. She didn’t move to the U.S. until she was 13. She is the one who taught our kids to speak Spanish.
