Turtles lay their eggs on land, usually by digging a hole in dirt or sand and then covering the nest.
After the eggs (2 to 11, but typically 5 to 6) are deposited, they are covered with layers of soil and left to develop on their own. Females may lay 2 clutches per year. The incubation period is 72 to 80 days.
Watch out for turtles humans! They are all over at this time of year and for the rest of the spring and summer! 😊🇨🇦😘 Thank you.

Slaw as a turtle
I just watched the same Mama turtle come up the hill and dig 2 holes. There j-shaped and I don't see eggs and she didn't feel them in it's possible they're back there. How long is the gestation period will they hacked next spring or will I be able to see them hatch in a few weeks? I've got a ,a few kids that look for her every spring. She's got a weird v-shaped chip so she's easy to identify versus other turtles that come up on the hill
baby toitles!!
