i dont know French or Russian...but she sang it with enough emotion and obviously understands herself. might be mediorce to you, but recognize talent when its there...she was what...? a teenager when she did this. it opened doors for her and she seems successfull without selling her soul and doing it from her own country...not only that, she can sing in other languages! so go spout ur bs elsewhere and criticize actual mediorces that your use to! 🙄

Diana Ankudinova is the greatest singer of our time. She's a female polyphonic contralto, which is one of the rarest voices to exist. She can scale high and low notes like no one I've ever heard and also has the ability to "split" her voice. The first time she splits her voice in this performance is at 1:09 and the second time is at 1:26. This is not done electronically, this is her natural ability manipulate the resonance of her vocal tract to create more. than one pitch at the same time. Her talent combined with the pure raw emotion she puts into the words are what make her such moving singer. Many people that I've shown her music to have told me they have never felt music like that before. She truly touches your soul with her voice, They call her "The angel with the devil's voice" because her voice is as haunting as it is moving. If you have not heard her version of "Falling in Love", I highly recommend checking it out. As she gets older and she develops her voice, her talent only continues to grow. A little back story that only adds to her character is that she was left abandoned at the age of 3 at at bus stop with a broken collar bone. Her Aunt rescued her, but was unable to care for her. She was sent to an orphanage in Primorsky, where they would periodically send her to a sanatorium to help her regain her physical and mental health due to the trauma and abuse she had endured by her biological mother. She was soon adopted by a massage therapist who's daughter had developed a bond with her. Irina Ponik's daughter would sometimes visit her mother and was the one who insisted that her mother adopt Diana. In 2008, Irina was officially given custody of Diana. They quickly moved far away due to Diana's fear that her mother would find her and abuse or attempt to regain custody. At the age of four and a half, Diana's Diana's speech was very poor due to the trauma she endured. Irina put Diana into singing lessons to help her overcome these issues and Diana discovered her passion for singing. Her singing teachers quickly realized the rare talent that Diana possessed. Soon, Diana would began entering and winning singing contests at every opportunity. This was the conception of the star we know today. Diana's strength and talent are what make her such an incredible person. Her music and story helped me personally through some very difficult times. She is a true inspiration and I feel privileged to have witnessed her music, even if just in a KZhead video.

I love females with deep singing tones. Diana has range down to dramatic contralto which is deepest. She really is amazing flower that has bloomed from a very sorrowful childhood.
She also has a range that can reach up to lyrical Soprano.

I’m just fascinated of this girl. From the first time I listened to her, it was this song, and believe me I watched her video plenty of time, and I watch a lot of musicians and vocalists who analyzed her voice, all of them was shocked and amazed by her voice. You should listen to more from her if you have not, she is 20 years old now and she is stronger than ever with a huge range, certainly one of if not THE best female vocalist of today. Listen to her cover of "Can't help falling in love" or her cover of "Wicked game" even her originals are otherworldly, listen to "Baikal" or "In my huge city", listen how high she can reach with "The day you...". Вот у Димаша космический голос невероятной силы и красоты, с ним улетаешь, растворяешься в нем, мурашки размером с арбуз по всему телу, абсолютное наслаждение. У Дианы наоборот- как-будто откуда-то из глубин, из недр нечто невероятно древнее, мощное, могучее, как волна изнутри накрывает. Не то что мурашки- сердце дрожать начинает и дыхание перехватывает.А я не сказать, чтоб сильно впечатлительная. А какой у нее взгляд во время исполнения! Насквозь. So Sublime! Love when she releases the beast within her deep register. Her voice naturally has reverb and at times its like she has two harmonic tones ,simultaneously firing.
Her deep voice is her natural tone since she is a Contralto and the two voices is also her because she is polyphonic and she also has a crazy range both downwards and upwards , if you think this is good then you have to hear her when she gets serious your mind will be blown away, she is the best female vocalist easily.

When I first saw this video, I never knew this woman’s back story; but as an honor choir member and musician, I could both hear AND feel the struggle and pain in her voice. After researching her it made sense.. you can’t fake emotion like this. Music speaks to everyone you don’t even have to understand the words.

I could listen to this all day. Idk how I just now find out about her. She has the rarest voice ever, honestly if she was a siren I'd be drawn to her, there's no doubt I wouldn't. This gave me chills all over me body and my heart was beating so fast I even started to cry I bit. I'm so glad you posted this. 1:26 was my favorite part, I still don't know his she did it.
So far I repeated this around 13+ times
There is no point thinking on how she does things, she has mastered her vocal instrument to an extreme degree, no other female vocalist can even come close right now. She has done way way more complicated stuff than that and she is not called the queen of goosebumps for nothing after all.
