Two GIANT Black Bears on opening day is how the season kicked off for Paul Beasley and his father Ken. They didn't have to hunt very hard as the bears were abundant and very active in Northern Ontario.

  • We definitely have some huge black bears in Ontario. There was one hit by a truck up in that neck of the woods several years back that was over 800 pounds. Great hunt guys.

  • That second shot is probably my favorite hunting shot of all time. The arrows flight sounds like a laser and it passes through the bear and smashes against the bait with a bang. Bear takes off and bleeds out in seconds. Great video

  • Always liked the CITR team's work. Wish you guys would prioritize your youtube content more. TV is dying and streaming is growing. The guys at The Hunting Public are now pushing the hunting entertainment industry like you with CITR were 10+ years ago.

  • I'm a hunter and baiting a bear and sitting in a stand reminds me the first time I went with my dad hunting they caught 3 rabbits and tied strings around there legs then walked me up a trail with a shotgun they made it seem like I was a skilled hunter at 12 the only difference here is you could do this at 8

    • We like G5 Megameat and Deadmeat broadheads for bears. Bears are light skinned with lots of fat to plug holes so big mechanicals make it harder for fat to plug holes resulting in better blood trails

    • Sorry you feel this way. Though hunting bears over bait is arguably the most ethically way to harvest a bear, or any animal for that matter. First off baiting allows the hunter the appropriate amount of time to properly determine the size, age and even sex of the bear, which is important for managing the bear numbers properly. Baiting also allows you to make an ethical and well placed shot for the quickest kill possible. And baiting doesn't mean a guaranteed harvest, in fact we'll often spend many days and weeks hunting before we actually harvest a bear and sometimes we go home without anything. Each day hunting for 4-10hrs, that's a lot hours sitting as quietly as possible usually in misquote and black fly infested forests. Hopefully this opens your mind about why some hunters use bait to hunt bears. And don't forget, bear meat is by far some of the beast wildgame meat you could ever harvest, we absolutely love it!
