Brits try 3 Michelin Star French Food!

In the rotunda on the 43rd floor of the majestic Grand Lisboa Hotel in Macao sits Robuchon au Dôme, Asia’s fanciest restaurant. It has held 3 Michelin stars for the last 15 years and boasts the largest wine cellar in China with over 17,000 labels. Today we drink them all! Just kidding. We’re here to try as much of their food and wine that our little English bodies can manage! Wish us luck.

  • Calling an Italian chef just to tell him that the best pasta was made by a French.... The nerve! 😆

  • Just a tip to perfect your camouflage: When a sommelier ask you to taste the wine, their primary goal is to see if the wine is "corked" (if a defective cork which has spoiled the wine), it's not a wine degustation :D

    @IronFreee@IronFreee6 ай бұрын
    • And as a sommelier, the even better tip is just to smell to wine without tasting it. That way, I'm always assuming I got a wine connoisseur. 99 % of the time, just by looking at the cork and smelling the wine, you can say if the wine is corked. Not even mentioning that usually, the sommelier already knows or at least have big doubts just by opening the bottle. Most of the time, when a customer say it's corked, in fact, it's not. We change the bottle anyway and drink it the back afterwards, laughing at the fool.

      @homasas4837@homasas48376 ай бұрын
    • @@homasas4837 Yes, the sommeliers usually can tell if there may be a problem when opening the bottle and they will know if you are wrong. A corked wine has a moldy cork taste and smell and a very flat wine taste. It's pretty uncommon, especially with modern corks.

      @IronFreee@IronFreee6 ай бұрын

It's like going to Japan - it feels as if you're doing everything wrong, but the Japanese are so kind and forgiving, that you never feel bad about it.
