  • One thing to remember is players LOVE fashion. They want to have a unique look that appeals to them, and not be forced to wear what they see is crap just for a particular bonus. Having options for the same effect is a good thing.

    • Counterpoint, not every game needs unlimited customization options, and sometimes being able to see just what passives your team has on a glance is much better for gameplay, as well as the immersive factor of "yes, this armor does this, that's what it is designed and made to do"

    • @@PaxRufrax the trick to that is to have every perc be actually good and expansive, which isn't the case right now. That and armor itself is just in a horrible state atm. The actual gameplay needs to be fixed before customization can even really be moved on to

    • The helmets need some sort of sensory themed passive. Example: Scout helmet passive- highlight nearby enemies with a silhouette Fortified helmet passive- headshot resistance

  • Friendly Gun ships would be a neat stratagem if they decide to treat us to a new defensive strat. Imagine pelican 1 being able to be called in to hover over an area to help defend for a limited time

    • I couldn't see Pelican 1 necessarily being air support. It's weird enough how a Pelican drops off your exosuit in 5 seconds but can't pick you up. Maybe a new aircraft designed for air support and hovering over the battlefield like a futuristic space chopper

  • The thing about the Quasar cannon, is currently when you shoot down a drop ship, the automatons just drop to the group, and get stuck under the ship. So they're not dieing. hope they fix it, because it's super rewarding.

    • Shot down a ship carrying a tank. Tank not only survived, but glitched through the ship to the top of it, a height that it could now shoot us more easily at.

    • thats not exactly true, sometimes they dont die but other times they take heavy dmg. i have seen devestators and berserkers come out of destroyed ships with parts missing wich makes them way less of a threat. i dont know why its so inconsistent though. also it stuns hulks and devestators wich is allways helpfull.

    • As i was told, if you hit the ship while the thrusters are still firing, it will explode when it hits the ground, but if it's already hovering and about to drop(or already dropping), it's not nearly as effective.

    • @jonhack2585 yes, I'm aware of those, I use them myself, but I do find it weird that the ones with the grenade launcher ammo don't give extra ammo to the weapon, or the ones with mags don't give extra mags. I said I would like to see that, it's not forced, and they look neat enough to not necessitate those features. I thought it would bring more variety

  • 5:13 Maybe this is what happens to the Helldivers who are left behind on a planet. They scrap to survive for who knows how long giving birth to this new Armor. 6:40 This was amazing in the first game, saved my life so many times when fighting the Illuminate. It wasn't a backpack in the first game though instead it was used as a perk so you could still run a shield pack as well and be teleported away from danger.

  • I really want more bounuses to armor. Additional primary ammo, Additional equipment ammo, decreased cool down for specific stratagems. Also would be cool to have a system to add bonuses to helmets at the cost of samples or medal.

  • they really need to add a system where you can change the passives on your armor sets to another in the same armor class. maybe i want to wear a specific armor set from the light armor category but change the passive from another light armor set so i can look how i want as well as have the passive i want. i also hope they add the ability to change color accents on some of these armor sets. personally im sick of the yellow and traffic cone orange

  • Heavy Armor needs to come with like 1+ Grenade and Magazine by default or something. Yes, they come with more HP but mobility is key when dealing with any horde, bug or bot. And that low stamina and regen-rate for Heavy Armor can be an issue. If' we're going to trundle around slow and heavy, give us a little more ammo by default to play the role.

  • Capes should have minor buffs, like increased stealth, fire retardant, hidden pouches = 2 extra magazine’s or 1 extra grenades, light cape, speed boost = 10 to movement speed and stamina regen, ect

  • They need to adjust primary weapons, sort out game issues, give more attention to armour stats eg armour which is resistant to slow, something like a prestige system for high end players before start releasing loads more weapons and warbonds.. At moment its just playing for warbonds and super credits when done everything else.

  • In the future I would like to see all armor perks removed from the armor sets themselves and instead be available to choose as a loadout option. If you like a certain set, you can run it no matter what and switch the perk between different operations. I feel like this would allow the devs more room to breathe as well, while also giving the player base the options to pick and choose sets/perks as they see fit. Just my 2c

  • Armor boosters I think should be added to increase variety and open up playstyle options: Weapons master: increased ammo and reload speed for support weapons Advanced tech kit: sentries and encampments have a 30% cooldown reduction, sentries and HMC Encampments turn 30% faster Marksmen: critical attacks from more than 50m deal 20% more damage Advanced nanobot support: reload heavy weapons on the move, while stationary take 40% less damage. Enemies prioritize you Field commander: teammates within 30m receive 20% damage resistance, 30% stratagem cooldown reduction, and 30% reload speed

  • If anyone here is wondering what the special bonuses will be, the first 2 will be engineering kit (+2 nades) and the heavy armor set will be fortified (30% less recoil when crouching and 50% explosive damage reduction) because on the first two letters CE-** = engineer kit, FS-** = fortified

  • I think we need Roles with its corresponding perk in the game. Like for eg; Heavy : cant be slowed. Adds a stagger to all weapon hits. Has a personal shield that is immune to light hits and attacks. Assault Trooper : all eagle and orbital strategems are 50% done when called in. Immune to fire and bile under the effects of stim. Combat Engineer : can call upon a second turret or weapon strategem before incurring cooldown. Increased the duration of the turrets. Ranger : instantly marks all Pois and objs on their mini map. Heat scans the area every 2mins for things of interests, like enemies or samples. Edit; you can technically already be a combat medic in game, thus i didnt really think they need one for a role. Reinforcement budget or resist injury boost, extra stims armor pack, shield generator relay with supplies backpack. Weapon of choice.

  • Don't forget each armour has a bonus under the name it looks like the first one negates the weather effects and the second allows you to run through tough terrain without slowing. I know this because a armour i used allows Chargers to hit u and it does very little damage and it told me that under the name of the armour

  • Here's an interesting fact about armor leaks, you can usually predict what their passive is going to be via the first two letters in their name, for example, FS is always fortified, CE is always engineering kit, etc

  • I think their should be some strategems that help with stealth for when you’re soloing like for example an invisibility cloak that lasts like 15 seconds for when a patrol is walking by you & you’re just trying to sneak past them & finish the objective or when you’re almost done with an objective and you just gotta sneak back in to upload the last file but you ever already been spotted. Another would be like a suppressed heavy armor penetrating weapon 50cal sniper like that you can use to pick off enemies w/o them automatically locking on you and spraying at you as soon as you shoot them. Even like a false hologram that just runs away for a certain amount of distance or seconds getting the enemies attention sort of like how mirage in apex legends has it. That could at least lure the enemies away from the objective or help you loose automatons if you’re being chased since in the harder difficulties they just start spraying at you & theirs so much chaos.

  • I remember in the first game the displacement pack was one of the most used support in end game way more than the shield, so you never know it might be the same thing in helldivers 2. That and the jetpack ( i'll never forget every time someone used it you hear them shout " JUMPING" lol) which in my opinion was way better than in helldivers 2.

  • Codiak, AH clearly stated the next thing in their discord: Q. How often will new Warbonds be released? Can we preview the content in them? A. For right now, Warbonds will be released every second Thursday of the month. Every time a new Warbond is released, you will be able to preview the content, and the Warbonds will never disappear, so you can purchase them or not whenever you want to. So the next Warbond is about to be released in 11th of April. The same was with "Cutting Edge" in 14th of March, it was "second thursday of the month". They can delay it, of course, you never know what will go wrong in development, but... I bet on 11th of April.

  • I'd love to see some additional armor perks, like +ammo, or some customization like a combination of servo assisted (+throw distance) and engineer's kit (+ grenades). I've read that they're also planning on having helmet perks as well, so hopefully some of these are like night vision, or thermal vision

  • An armor set that reduces reload times would be greatly received. An armor set that holds extra mags for your primary and/or secondary weapon would be interesting as well. Adaptive Camo skin on heavy armor to give the Scout Armor bonus against detection would be great. The armors we have now are decent but there could be some improvements.

  • The displacement field was a perk in the first game and was extremely helpful in the first game if paired with the jetpack. Now that its a backpack itself it'll def play differently

  • What they need to do with armor is to give helmets stats too. Maybe lesser ones, or just unique ones that fit the helmet. Things like infra red/thermographic vision enhancers to make enemies easier to see in spore clouds or weather or smoke, increased resistance to head trauma or stun effects, built in headlamps so you can have light without having to aim your gun... things like that. I always found it odd that helmets give no stats at all. I would also not mind if they made them give some of the suit bonuses, like + stims or + grenades (picture a helmet with a extra two attached to it). I know, it sounds crazy right? Except when you die, you usually get torn to pieces as it is, so strapping a grenade to your head isn't as much of an insane move as it sounds, and having a couple of stims tucked into your headband for fast access is just smart.

  • That CE-27 Ground Breaker armor set looks like it is better for fire resistance than anything, lol! Also, if i could change one thing about this game, I would make some minor adjustments to the armor system. Helmets: All stay the same with just an extra space to mod it out. Could add headshot resistance, optical enhancements, visual enemy "perception fields", and other minor buffs. Armor: Keep with the current "weight class" but add more diversity of the armor passives. Make it to where each armor you unlock you can work with to "gain familiarity" with it and be able to use it with other armors of the same class. If anything, make certain passives exclusive to a armor class while others are shared between either 2 or all 3 types. It'd make sure this game maintains fashion as well as armor that is custom to the user. Anything that is armor specific, you have to use that specific armor for a bit to "learn". Oh yeah! Also, make it a slider for people to decide if an armor has a better damage resistance or stamina with a slider (armor class specific limits). Capes: There isn't much you could do here. Maybe add that allies in proximity gain faster reloads because of confidence inspired by the cape along with passives for minor fire resistance or arc resistance, or maybe assistance in stealth when laying done or crouching. (Not much that can be done there for capes that are notable.) Lastly, adding in an armor color system.

  • What would be super cool is "stratagem hero armor" passive: speedy liberation: sratagems call down 25% faster Destroyer superlink: allows the helldiver to bring an extra stratagem (if you can only bring 3 cause of the effevts the armor would let you take 4)

  • I agree, the armor stats are really boring and they are all repeated. I think that they could fix this in a number of ways. For one they can make more varied armor stats and passive stats. They can also introduce a Transmog system where you can keep the appearance of a gear set you like while maintaining the stats of a different piece of gear.

  • There are so many armor traits they could add, idk why they keep recycling the same few. Just to spitball some ideas: -Quartermaster: Maximim Primary and secondary Ammo Capacity increased by 10% -Fire Crew: Reduced incendiary damage HAZMAT: Reduced acid damage -Streamlined: 10 percent increase in speed, regardless of armor type. Recover from dives quicker -Modernized: fewer crit damage and lower crit chance ftom enemy attacks -Augmented: reload all weapons faster when stationary

  • How about pick whatever Armor you want and then selecting your passive effect on what you want. So if you want to have a heavy look but it really being light Armor with the passive effects you want would be great. Basically just make all Armor cosmetic, then the player picks heavy, light or medium, then selects his passive effects.

  • what i think would be the best way to do the passives is you can swop passives from any armor as long as it’s a he same class as in light medium or heavy. if i have a medium armor that i love the look but love the passive of another armor it will let me swop them. but you can’t take a passive from light armor and put it on a heavy armor. also helmets and capes need need passives also. this way we can take the aiming passives away from the armor and put them on the helmets. capes can be light weight allowing us to move faster or add fire/acid resistance.

  • i think having different armor-sets with the same perks makes sense in the lore, since those armors are different models, which are used for the same purpose. Thats why they use the same abbreviation (as an example: all medic armors use CM with only a number to tell the models apart), just like many weapons and other kinds of equipment in real life.

  • i wish there was more of a variety of passive bonuses from armor, there should also be set bonuses that you get when you have the whole set equipped. it'd be cool to get a helmet that lets you breath in the gas strikes or a cape that reduces damage from behind but maybe slows you down a bit from the added weight

  • Honestly the frustrating part of recycled armor sets isn't that they're recycled, it's that a lot of these sets are functionally the same, like the first two Cutting Edge armors, or Hero of the Federation/Champion of the People/Savior of Humanity all being 100/500/100 statline. You literally have different grades within the armor sets, at least change that much.

  • YOu have any idea how much I would love to see armor that increases your damage resistance to explosives and gives you +2 grenades? Or increases your throw distance and gives you more nades? Or stims and nades? Or increases your fire and chemical resistance (so you don't get immediately murked by spewers)? Or how about increasing your "bullet" resistance (so Automaton lasers and such don't hurt you quite as much but you don't get the positives of explosive resistance), or heavy armor with the Scout perk for lols

  • 150 defense for that chunky thing is ridiculous. Heavy armour should have around 300 defense to compensate for how slow it runs, and how fast your stamina dies. Friendly reminder that we have 4 "medium" armor sets with 150 defense, the starting ones.

  • I feel the overlapping armor effects are so that people don't get forced to pick an armor they don't like the look of for a specific effect. With that said I do wish they had more effects other than the recoil reduction when crouching or prone as I almost never am either.

  • Assault armor, with super high speed, maybe take a hit in armor to 45, can stim anytime in order to really utilize extra speed, and steady recoil while 3rd person or ADS

  • They could choose weapon based options with armour. Faster reloads of grenade launcher and auto cannon. Auto supply pack so you wouldn’t need the backpack for AC or extra spare rounds for GL.

  • Man, seeing those drop ships are interesting. I think it'd be cool if we manage to get up to a platform we could hijack a drop ship and use it as a temporary vehicle with a limited lifespan. Gotta drop out of the ship before it takes too much damage, or maybe crash a ship into a tank after dismounting it.

  • The passives being the same could be a "Hey, let's get the armor out and worry about passives later." Arrowhead may be mainlining new content and then go back and rethink passives when they've 1. Fixed bugs or 2. Added in new enemies

  • 2 things. The new warbond will have a new perk but it won’t show up until release. (happened with CE too) At 6:29 this is not how it will work. The person who made the video said that the pack is essentially just a model currently and they simply cut the footage to “show how it could work” when it is added.
