I'm 62, and came here out of frustration. I can't stand most of the formulaic new music, and I'm tired of all my favorite bands from the 70s and 80s, excellent though they are. Even Humble Pie, Traffic, and Deep Purple get old after a while. I like a lot of this music, some of it more than others, of course. Thank you for the playlist.

The sickest mix so far
Watched a Sam Cooke doc tonite. Saw Sam with Malcom X, Muhammed Ali and Jim Brown all together as friends uniting people. Had to hear some soul and RnB. This mix makes me realize what I was missing when i was focused too hard on classic rock, metal and grunge as a youngster. Really brilliant performers here. So slick and innovative. I guess I was listening, but not to the good stuff, otherwise I'd have been glued to these artists. They really did carry on the tradition of Muddy Waters, Armstrong, James Brown, Quincy, Marvin Gaye, Stevie, Supremes, Etta, Ella, Dizzy, Miles, the people who drove American popular culture harder and faster than anyone else. Light speed and just so smart and chill.

How can you compare this music with mumble music? I don't get this. I dont associate mumble with hiphop. To me they are different genres... We got old school hiphop and we got some great underground hiphop (so great to see chill bump and chinese man in these mixes).
