Nate Diaz talks Jorge Masvidal fight, making of BMF title, Nick Diaz army | Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show

2019 ж. 27 Қаз.
2 405 750 Рет қаралды

Nate Diaz sits down with Ariel Helwani inside Madison Square Garden to talk about the significance of his UFC 244 fight vs. Jorge Masvidal. (4:28) Diaz looks back at his callout at UFC 241 and how (8:50) the UFC making a BMF belt amuses him. (16:59) Nate describes what his mindset was like when he began his career and training with his brother Nick. (25:50) Ariel asks Nate about Nick getting him into the game. (31:01) Nate says he’ll be a fighter “forever” and will never retire, then revisits his 3-year layoff between the Conor McGregor rematch and Anthony Pettis fights. (47:05) Diaz adds that he has no interest in fighting for the welterweight title and explains why a bout vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov doesn’t interest him right now, but describes what happened between the two, which caused a scuffle at a WSOF event years ago.

    • It's actually very good interview technique. Most fighters usually aren't open or honest, particularly when it comes to the big one of "What do you fight for?" It's such a personal and complex thing to answer that they typically deflect or don't even truly know the answer themselves. By bringing up Nick he gets him to talk about why he fights without ever asking the question directly. He avoids the typical responses of money, glory or that it's "In his blood" He gets the real answer which is he does it for the respect of his hero, his big brother.

He beat aldo, porier, Holloway, Mendes, diaz and went and fought the best defensive boxer in the world and actually did fairly good for fighting in a completely different sport against the literal best. But yeah hes a horrible fighter haha the guy that was the first one to win a round against khabib and neutralize his ground game till he started gassing haha. Conor is a fucking idiot but calling him a horrible fighter is a fucking joke when he has beat and fought some of the best in the world haha. Thats like saying woodley sucks at fighting because he lost to Usman hahaha

  • This was the most informational Nate Diaz interview I’ve ever seen. Not just on the info Nate gives but on his psyche as well. Only Ariel could navigate through it the way he did. He’s the MMA journalism GOAT.
