My grandfather had an in ground pool and the interior wasn’t lined with that slippery liner that most pools have, it almost felt like skateboard grip When we would play we always rubbed our feet raw.

Nice presentation Mark! I also find water shoes help with gripping the pool bottom when moving side to side or forward and backward.

I wear Sketchers archfit as water shoes when I do water aerobics because they give the support that is optimum.

I have alternate from one gym pool to another during the week. One pool bottom is very slippery. My ryka shoes does not give me enough traction in that pool. What can I do with the soles of my shoes. Ruff up with sandpaper? Or something. Thank you

As long as you buy water shoes - there is no special care for them. Just let them dry out naturally.

You would want water shoes because they are designed with material for quick drying and they will hold up longer. Just try googling water shoes and I am sure you will find lots of options in style and cost.
