There was some sublime tennis played on the main court at Roland-Garros on Tuesday as Novak Djokovic defeated Karen Khachanov in four sets. The pair produced some simply magical rallies that thrilled the crowd, and although Khachanov took the first set to raise a few eyebrows, he was unable to continuously compete with Djokovic as the match in Paris wore on.

  • Great game. Very high level from both players; both players have a lot in their arsenal and almost no weaknesses. Djokovic, though, is just otherworldy when he gets going, and his play challenges description at times. Incredible player. I didn't realise how big Djokovic hits his forehand shots (I'm only a casual tennis fan, so have never paid too much attention to players' overall abilities and styles of play throughout the years) -- must be one of the most powerful forehands of all time (definitely up there with Federer, Nadal, Soderling, Del Porto & Gonzalez).

  • Well this was another example of Djokovic just training and exercising a bit in the first two sets, Kachanov never had any chance. All those strange soft and loopy balls from Djokovic, especially in the first set, maybe he does that so he has to run harder to get the next ball? Djokovic shifted gears in the tiebreak of the second set, watch those screamers from 3:50 onwards. When I saw the result I thought he wouldn't stand a chance against Alcaraz, but after seeing the highlights it seems he is in absolute top form. The semifinal will be epic! 53-47% Alcaraz as he has the slight advantage with the drop shots, net game and power. Djokovic has more longevity and is mentally stronger.

  • It was really a leading-edge showdown which was briskly contended from beginning to the end. In fact, Karen has demonstrated a robust performance against Djokovic in the first two sets. Moreover, Novak had revealed that he was going to come back in the second set with the tie-break outcome. The vast revival of Djokovic has been easily pinpointed in the third set, watching the real quality and top-notch level of Novak Djokovic on the pitch.
