  • Piper also doesn't show the darker future where, due to this over exploitation of the resource, the crabs get extinct and very soon all the birds also run out of food.

    • This won’t happen if piper and her crew only eat to live. If they hunt to store, dump the spoilage, or hunt a single type of prey, then yep, you’d be spot on.

    • Spot on! Before they were getting very few small resources at a time whenever the waves timing would allow for it. Now Piper has even ‘hacked’ the waves issue where he doesn’t even need to run away from them and what used to be a few pebbles for the first 3minutes of the short film, became tons on the last 1minute, exponentially increasing the resource exploitation and collection of new untapped colony of ‘things’ that had it’s own stable ecosystem (I guess). Point being if they had discovered the new resources but still continue going the previous way, then yeah, nothing would have changed... but they didn’t, they have changed their ways forever, their crew will now be able to thrive, expand and feed 100 fold more birds with Piper’s knowledge passed sideways and descendants.
