Yes, I’m really the voice and operator of Geoff Peterson (and Sandra the Rhino 2.0, all of the phone calls, celebrity flies, the entire Shy Fellas band and more!). And this is REALLY my YT Channel! Pretty much every Geoff and Craig interaction was unscripted, and this moment is no exception. For several nights in a row Craig was busting Geoff's balls (pun intended) about not having lips to blow a harmonica. So during this segment, while puppeteering/voicing Geoff, I'm also flagging down our props guy, Eddie, to run and get a harmonica. When Craig hears the harmonica sound coming from Geoff's mouth, his look of surprise is genuine. Here are some of the other characters I played on the show: kzhead.info/sun/Y7Srj8WFeKOif58/bejne.html
Wow, fate has brought me here so I can subscribe to your KZhead channel.
Reminiscing the show. I was a Letterman fan but switched over to Craig. You guys were the best kept secret for the longest time. It ended too soon but it was a damn good run.

Would you do a show again with Craig if the opportunity came along?
I miss you guys so much in Late Night. My favorite clips are when y'all would get into a squabble. Thank you for all the laughter as Geoff Petersen. Stop by Flappers or The ice House once in a while please.
The idea that Geoff has like 15 vacation homes and does the same shit when he visits them regardless of wether it’s Mardi Gras or not is hilarious

This was one of the best 5 minutes of back-and-forth in late night show history, I swear. The timing, the callbacks, the unexpected elements... Just the chemistry that made this work... which is so great because Craig is essentially talking to a piece of plastic and metal that's killing him with laughter. I watched this clip dozens of times in years past, glad I found it again. Huge respect for your talent and wit, Josh, from a fellow Clevelander!
Fellow Clevelander here as well! I have watched this video on KZhead more than any other, and it never fails to make me laugh. My favorite part is at 3:03 when Geoff barely gets out, “we throw beads we go swimming“ the second time, and Craig loses it - he’s all the way over to the left laying on his desk laughing uncontrollably and trying not to. The whole thing reminds me of study hall in high school, And how we were constantly trying to not be heard when we were laughing so hard.
i got a place there too!
@@psy0rz Really? What do you do there?
@@screamingpencil throw beads and go swimming ofcourse!
Many people think Geoff’s mouth movements were voice activated, but in reality I had to flip a switch every time to make the mouth move. Every. Single. Word. There were also separate controls for his right and left arms, head swivel and blinking eye lights. Someone asked recently if the harmonica was pre-recorded. No, that was a real harmonica. All the instruments I used were real. So I learned to move quickly between the remote control and whatever instrument was being used in the moment. All while making stuff up! “Were the phone calls pre-recorded?” Again, cannot emphasize this enough: it was all made up on the spot, in the moment. I never knew what voice I would do until the moment Craig said, “I wonder who might call now…” 📞 While all of this is going on, I’m also using a second remote control to operate and voice Sandra the Rhino on occasion. Plus, I’m voicing all of the phone calls, celebrity flies, every member of the Shy Fellas band, and Secretariat’s inner voice. Whew! 💀 -JRT Learn all about it here: kzhead.info/sun/gLqjd7GunZeMbKc/bejne.html

Josh, you and Craig were improv comedy gold! My word, man, the chemistry, the wit, the rapid-fire responses, so underappreciated by the masses who don't matter and adored by those of us who understand that you made Geoff the penultimate expression of Craig's quest to deconstruct the dead art form of the late night talk show. You have such a gift, expressed so well which continues to bring so many laughs and smiles. Thank you.
They did more movements progressively over the years so hopefully you had a chance to get used to the controls before they would add more.
You're literally the best . May Geoff live on

This is something that's just perfect, from beat to beat. It was a risk - Craig doubtless wanted someone to bounce off of, but finding a comedian who can bounce that naturally is rare, and finding someone like Mr. Thompson who can ad-lib and match Craig's humor perfectly must've been like finding a big diamond in a Safeway parking lot. This show was the funniest thing on TV for about 4 or 5 years.

I don't know why, but every time Craig would ask Geoff to do something like pick up a piece of paper or read an email, Geoff/Josh's response "How dare you" would get me every time.
